The man fell to the ground, slamming his buttocks hard on the wooden surface.

It was followed by a loud scream as he pointed at the woman sitting on the chair, his face convulsing with fear.

"Monster! Y-you’re a monster!!!"

Not even a moment later, he accidentally turned his gaze to the side, only to see the badly damaged corpse of his wife on the bed.

Blood could still be seen dripping from the tip of the bedsheets.

Savor finally puked, throwing up close to where he was.

Carlotta sighed, then with the same breath tossed the head of the woman onto the bed next to the body.

"No wonder she started screaming at me when I got here. By the way, I know I should not be telling you this since you are going to die here anyway, but your wife was cheating on you. She was right there with another man before you walked in. Of course, I allowed him to escape through the window, but my children are probably feeding on him as we speak."

And she was right.

Just outside the window, the monsters she had brought with her were seated on the ground, crushing bones and tearing flesh with their fingers before throwing it into their mouths.

But all that held little importance to Savor.

His escape was the first thing on his mind.

"Y-you came to my Guild today, right? I agreed to do your deal! So why are you doing this? Is this because I spoke rudely to your friend? If that’s the case then I am sorry! I will do whatever you want. Just tell me!"

"So you were aware of your rudeness, and still chose to do it anyway... you mortal scum!"

She pointed at him.

"Who the hell did you think you were talking to?!!!"

A fast beam shot from her finger and went straight to the man’s left arm.

Seconds later, the man was screaming on the ground with tears dripping from his eyes as his severed arm was soaked in his own blood.

"H-have mercy, please!"

"Took me quite a while to notice, but I guess the reason my Lord asked of me to kill you was not because you disrespected him. I know he is not that petty. That was a choice of my doing."

She stood to her feet.

"Despite that, he chose to acknowledge it. I was happy. But then, I overheard your conversation in the carriage, and I now fully understood why my Lord chose to allow me to kill you. You made a mockery of him, and tried to scam him of his goods. Death... death is all I see for you."

"P-please, I don’t want to die. I beg of you. How much? Tell me, how much can I give you to take my side instead?"

"How much?" Carlotta’s eyes glowed. "How much?!!!"

She brought down her arm on his other shoulder, slicing it clean off.

The man screamed even more, about to fall to the side as the pain began to tear him open from the inside.

Unfortunately, Carlotta didn’t intend to grant him the favor of fainting.

She grabbed him by the head and raised him up so he could look her in the eye.

"Take a look at me. Perhaps now you can understand your predicament a little better."

Thus he did.

And upon looking at the top of her head, the System forced the information into his brain.

He had never seen anything like it. Not on a Player, not on an NPC, not even on a Boss.

Just like that, every hope vanished from him and he began to cry.

His tears rang through the entire place. There were only mumbles, as such Carlotta could barely make out what he was saying.

"Heaw, are all human adult males like this? You would cry your eyes out in front of a woman? You could learn a thing or two from my Master. No matter the circumstance, he would always remain calm."

She went on and on, telling him all the stories about Kai, from her first summon, to the arrival of even the other Pillars.

All just to show the man dying before her how highly she thought of the man she served.

However, by the time she was done, she noticed the man’s eyes were closed and he was no longer moving.

"Oh, he is dead. Bummer. And I haven’t even told him the best part yet."

She sighed, then flung the body to the side.

"I should return back to Lord Kai’s side. Hehe, if I am lucky, he would have fallen asleep by now."

Snapping her fingers, she transformed into a bat, and then out the window she went, her children following right behind her by leaping from one building top to the other.

The next day...

Kai opened his eyes, and noticed he was sleeping on the bed already.

The first thing he saw was the ceiling, and then came the sudden despair.

’Argh, it wasn’t a dream.’

Because he was a Dungeon Boss, his body knew nothing of sleep. As such, Kai had never had a wink of sleep since he arrived in the game world.

And while he does feel fatigue, all he needed to do was rest a bit and he would be back to normal. There was really no need for him to sleep.

This time was the exception.

He missed the feeling of sleeping and hoped to try it, which led him to use a potion from the shop that would do just that.

Though it worked, a part of him truly believed if he woke up, it would be in the real world. After all, his own alignment was quite different from the rest of the players.

Kai then looked to the right.

Where he could see Carlotta sleeping right beside him in what seemed to be her nightdress.

She was hugging his arm, shoving it right between her exposed cleavage.

Normally in that moment, Kai would have panicked, and since he was in his human form, his face would have been beet red as well.

But that wasn’t the case. He was calm, but still strangely interested.

He raised his free hand from the bedsheet and then slowly reached out to grab Carlotta by the chest without so much as a hesitation.

She moved closer.
