Summoner Online: I Became the Tutorial Boss with a 999+ Villainess-Chapter 77: As the plans proceed.
The plan was simple.
After distributing the Skeleton Knights to all the dungeon lords that presented themselves before Kai, the Nameless Dungeon would wait for the bosses to lower their guard.
In this case, many of them were suspicious of the gift, but at the same time, they didn’t want to risk ruining the relationship they already had with the rising power of the Nameless Dungeon.
That was the plan, until the incident happened.
One morning, news broke out to the Goblin King that some of his subordinates had violently attacked the five Skeleton Knights stationed to guard his dungeon.
When asked why they did so, the goblins could not give a clear answer. They only spoke incoherently about how they didn’t want anyone from outside near their territory.
The Goblin King, in a rage, punished them by banishing them from the dungeon permanently, but the deed had already been done.
Five Skeleton Knights, belonging to the Nameless Dungeon, had been killed.
But why?
Why would the goblins suddenly launch a suicidal attack on the skeletons despite knowing who they served?
Well, it was quite simple, as everything went according to Lyra’s plan from the start.
Using Fanny’s unique racial traits, which included the mastery of illusions and mental manipulation, she was able to sneak a spell onto the Skeleton Knights before they were sent to the Goblin King.
It was a spell that worked as a passive aura.
When weak-minded monsters were exposed to it for too long, their rationality would crumble, replaced immediately by blinding hate and an uncontrollable urge to destroy the source of the spell
It was called: {Rageful Desire.}
At the end of the day, that particular spell served as the backbone for the entire operation. Frame the other dungeons as aggressors, then cut them off.
With her head bowed in the throne room, Lyra uttered her report.
"As we speak, the other Dungeon Bosses have all begun to reach out to one another to discuss countermeasures against the ongoing human threat. Following your orders, I have pulled back all our forces from their dungeons as well, leaving them defenseless."
"Interesting. You were able to execute all of this on your own terms. I couldn’t be any prouder," Kai responded, his voice echoing slightly in the vast hall.
"You flatter me, my Lord. I am unworthy of such praises."
"Be at ease, Lyra. It is well earned."
Kai halted, glancing to the side a bit.
’That at least sets the stage. Now we know what to expect after the military attacks. It would serve me better if more of the other monsters died and their desperation wore thin. Worst case scenario, I let them die, bring their corpses back to the dungeon, and resurrect them as my personal summons.’
He sighed internally.
’Seeing as they now understand it is their fault that the alliance broke, the chances of their total submission are high. But at this rate, I will collapse if too many of them die from this invasion. It takes a lot of exp and mental fortitude to pull it off.’
"My Lord, are you thinking about something?" Carlotta asked, a look of worry on her face as she raised her head to look at him from her position.
Immediately, Kai snapped out of his thoughts.
"I was merely trying to—"
"If you are tired, I can take you to your room to rest." She leaned forward, the smile on her face growing, but it was no ordinary smile, not by any means.
And Kai understood that look all too well. He did promise to allow her to do what she wanted when they arrived back at the dungeon.
"My Lord, please give me the order to strike this bitch down for interrupting you. It will only take a second," Lyra uttered from the side, her face perfectly calm despite the violent request.
"Wha—I did not interrupt him! Don’t speak such rubbish!" Carlotta turned to face her, her aura flaring.
"As expected. You are too stupid to understand protocol. My Lord, your orders?"
"Oh, I see what is going on here..." Carlotta placed her palm over her lips in a mocking manner. "You are upset that I have had the chance to spend more time with Lord Kai over the past weeks? Awwwn. But you are the Guardian of the First Floor! Your job is to constantly look at the dungeon walls while me and Lord Kai are away doing important work."
Lyra gritted her teeth, clearly getting frustrated.
At the center of this storm stood Fanny, who lowered her head even more from the second-hand embarrassment.
Actually, she had been speaking for quite some time, telling them to calm down, but since most of her words were usually whispers, they couldn’t hear her. As always.
As such—
"Urgh! What is your problem?! Keep quiet already!"
The teddy bear in her hands finally spoke for her, moving its stuffed arms back and forth in angry gestures. The voice was high-pitched but rude.
Everyone turned their gaze towards Fanny in that moment, watching as she tried to stop the bear from speaking.
Even Kai stared with amusement.
"Can’t you see you are making the Supreme One uncomfortable? Two grown women fighting over him like a bunch of kids," the bear continued, mocking them.
"Wow..." Lyra was speechless.
"You may act like a child, but you sure do have a foul mouth, Fanny," Carlotta followed up, eyeing the doll.
Fanny shook her head nervously to object, but that soon vanished when the bear spoke again.
"Of course she does! I am her mouth, you see. Whatever she is too scared to say, I say it for her." The bear’s button eyes seemed to have a smug expression. "Besides, you two dunces are wasting your time. Fanny loves the Supreme One more than any of you! Hmmm! HuhmmM!" 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
Fanny finally managed to block the mouth of the bear with both her hands, her face beet red as she focused her gaze directly on the floor tiles, wishing she could phase through them.
"Rude as it may have been, the toy makes a point. Please forgive our misconduct, my Lord." Lyra bowed her head instantly, regaining her composure.
Carlotta followed suit, doing the same thing.
As for Kai...
’I am actually quite surprised. When I gave her that toy, it was because I didn’t want her to be lonely, since she is the only one I didn’t assign to a floor. That said, to think she would turn the doll into a sentient medium of communication... Hahaha, these summons sure do know how to impress me every once in a while.’
He closed his eyes briefly with a smile, then slowly opened them back, his expression serious.
"I will allow it," he uttered to them. "But we need to move to the matter at hand, which of course is the human army already in Jaun."
"About that, my Lord. Sanovere is still gathering intel on them, and here is what he told me from what he has gathered so far."
Lyra paused so she could assess the information well without sounding confusing.
"Amongst the 300 men, now down to 280 after the initial skirmishes, three individuals stood out. The first is a man called X. He is the strongest of them, estimated around Level 130. His blade is wreathed in ancient energy, capable of erasing monsters upon a single cut. It negates regeneration or something close to that.."
Kai narrowed his eyes.
"The second is a female named Sandra. She is Level 99. Apparently, she is a Sorcerer with a specialization in Necromancy; she turns the monsters they have killed into her own army. And the last of them is a man named Cowl, a Level 150 High Mage."
Kai listened, tapping his finger on the armrest.
’These people actually have high levels. Summoner online is supposed to be hardcore, so getting to level 150 is a huge flex. I do believe the highest level in the game beta test was level 280. hmm... this leads me to believe they are the Duke’s most powerful elites, not just standard infantry. It is no wonder the other dungeons were going down one by one. Level 150 is no joke for this region.’
He paused, calculating the matchups.
’But still, this should be an easy win if I send the right subordinates to counter them.’
He uttered out loud next.
"Very valuable information. Remind me to reward Sanovere later. For now, I will present you with the monsters that will be joining the front line to secure victory for the dungeon."
