Chapter 1226: Chapter 1226 Realm King Oil Corpse

Lin Shen and Catherine exchanged a glance, entering the ancient city together. They arrived at the tower gate, peering inside, and were immediately stunned by what they saw.

Inside the tower were rows of metal pillars, each one locking someone in place, numbering in the hundreds.

Upon closer inspection, Lin Shen noticed something peculiar. Those locked onto the metal pillars were not humans of flesh and blood, but rather wax figures with shiny, oily skin.

"Enter the tower, reach the seventh level, and you can obtain the treasure of the Realm King’s Prison City," the Thinker told Lin Shen.

"What treasure? Who left it here?" Lin Shen asked.

"If you can reach the seventh level, you’ll naturally discover it. If not, there’s no need to know," the Thinker said.

"You should at least tell me who you are, right?" Lin Shen looked at the Thinker and asked.

"I’m just a statue that can think, that’s all." The Thinker glanced at the realm king prison tower’s door: "This door will close in less than a minute, whether or not you want to enter is up to you."

Lin Shen and Catherine exchanged another glance, then proceeded to walk inside the tower.

"Whose wax figures are these?" Lin Shen stood inside the tower, turned back to the door outside, and asked the Thinker: "Those aren’t wax figures; they’re the Realm King’s oil corpses, brought back from different ancient realm areas, those called names, which I don’t know."

"Realm King Oil Corpses..." Lin Shen was somewhat puzzled. What exactly were oil corpses?

"To define the boundaries of heaven and earth is to be a Realm King. After the ancient times, there were no more Realm Kings in the universe, because all the Realm Kings defining boundaries were either killed or imprisoned in this Realm King’s Prison City. The Realm Kings imprisoned within the Realm King Prison Tower were irreplaceable among Realm Kings, capable of leaving behind astonishing creations."

Lin Shen’s expression changed slightly: "Who killed the Realm Kings and imprisoned them? The Ancient Realm King?"

"Indeed." The Thinker replied.

"Why did he do this?" Lin Shen couldn’t understand why the Ancient Realm King did such a thing.

No wonder among the people of the Ascension Celestial Court’s ancient realm areas, not a single Realm King existed. It turned out not only Lin Shen’s ancient realm area had lost the Realm Kings; other ancient realm areas had lost them too.

"To define heaven and earth, delineate the borders of ancient realm areas. The so-called Realm King was merely a tool created by the God-making Race to rule the ancient realm areas. The first Realm Kings were mostly puppets of the God-making Race. Later, although there were some genuine human Realm Kings, they were very rare. To escape the God-making Race’s rule, the Ancient Realm King led the Ten Great Generals to conquer all heavens and myriad worlds, slaying countless Realm Kings and imprisoning some of them here to endure endless torment until they turned into oil corpses. Those left here now are merely the oil-hardened shells of the Realm Kings..."

The Thinker spoke as the door slowly closed, severing all connection with the outside world.

"The Great Emperor rules the Celestial Court, and the God-making Race wants to break free from the God-making Race’s rule and reclaim their freedom, but how is their rule over ancient realm areas different from the Great Emperor’s rule over the Celestial Court?" Lin Shen shook his head and said.

Now, Lin Shen finally understood the complete historical context: the earliest humans self-destructed in a virus war, with six Smart Brains evolving on their own and exploring the Great Universe, establishing the Celestial Court.

Then the Great Emperor Smart Brain revived humans and created humanoid lifeforms in the ancient realm areas using human genes.

The Great Emperor Smart Brain, unhappy with reviving flawed humans, pursued perfection, thereby creating immortals.

The First Immortal betrayed and founded the God-making Race, also dividing the Celestial Court and all heavens and myriad worlds.

The God-making Race became the true rulers of the ancient realm areas, but the Celestial Court struggled to extend its influence there. Later, due to the emergence of the Ancient Realm King, the God-making Race’s rule over the ancient realm areas was shattered. Now, entering the ancient realm areas is no easy task for the God-making Race.

After Lin Shen sorted out the whole context, he felt something amiss.

Everything else seemed fine, but he still couldn’t figure out why there were two different Celestial Courts, or none at all.

If the six Great Emperor Smart Brains have already reincarnated, then what was the Jade Emperor he saw in that peculiar Celestial Court?

And what belonged to the finger summoned later?

Even if what he saw were Great Emperor avatars disguised by Immortals, that finger was made by the Immortal Soldier Camp, but what was that Celestial Court itself? It wasn’t the current Celestial Court at all.

Thinking it over repeatedly, he had a nagging feeling something was wrong, but he couldn’t identify where the issue lay.

"What is this!" Lin Shen was in thought when he suddenly heard Catherine’s excited voice.

Lin Shen looked towards where Catherine was, discovering Catherine was intently examining a metal pillar locking a Realm King.

With his exceptional eyesight, Lin Shen could immediately see, that the pillar was inscribed with dense, small characters.

"King of the Many Suns Ancient Realm Area, imprisoned here for over one billion and thirty-four million years, all energy extracted into the Realm King Life-locking Stake."

Lin Shen looked around, noticing similar inscriptions on each metal stake, with different Realm King names, presumably from different ancient realm areas.

"The Ancient Realm King imprisoned these Realm Kings here to extract their energy. The energy of these Realm Kings must be extraordinary. It’s just unclear what it’s used for." Catherine observed the hundreds of metal stakes, imagining they must be the Realm King Life-locking Stakes mentioned in the inscriptions.

However, after researching for a while, they failed to discover how to use the Realm King Life-locking Stakes to extract the energy within.

Lin Shen was chilled in his heart—keeping these Realm Kings here for over a billion years, continuously extracting their energy, leaving them unable to live or die, then ending up as oil shells. This was a terribly cruel method.

But then he thought, the energy within these Life-locking Stakes was an unimaginable astronomical figure. With more than a billion years of accumulated energy, an ordinary person absorbing this energy might instantly ascend to the Celestial Court, maybe even directly reach Upper Rank.

It’s uncertain whether the energy within these Life-locking Stakes has been extracted. If not, Lin Shen wondered if he could leverage such immense energy to once again attempt reaching Nirvana Level.

His body had never transcended Nirvana Level, a perpetual concern, and it’s unknown whether facing Great Emperor Level could pose a problem.

Both of them examined the Life-locking Stake as the ceiling lit up, casting a beam of light down, within which appeared the human silhouette of a projection.

Lin Shen only glanced at it and recognized it as the Ancient Realm King’s projection, identical to the image he’d seen before, even down to the style of the gold-framed glasses on his face.

"Are you ready to become an enemy of the entire cosmic universe?" the Ancient Realm King said with a strange smile.
