Chapter 469: 463: Genius or Madman Part 3

As soon as Finn Lewis stepped into the hospital, he decided not to engage in any conversation with the people here. If he were to encounter a few more like the one at the entrance, he figured he’d go insane himself.

He followed Jack Lewis all the way into the ward. It was evident Jack was acquainted with the people inside. Most likely, he often visited, or perhaps he had alerted them of his arrival beforehand. Several doctors and security personnel along the way showed no reaction to Jack’s presence. It was only when he entered a quiet ward towards the back of the care home that the environment improved slightly.

It wasn’t clear if patients here were more seriously ill, but most people Finn saw had been confined in their rooms. He was somewhat speechless. Such a stifling environment would make any normal person uncomfortable, let alone stay there willingly.

However, he would soon find out. Before long, he arrived at the innermost ward with Jack. After looking around, Jack directly pulled out a key from above the ward’s door, unlocking it.

Finn glanced at the key above and then at a small window within 20 minutes’ reach from where the key was placed. The patient inside could easily get the key by reaching out.

Following Jack into the room, Finn was taken aback. It was an absolute mess with a dishevelled man sprawled out sleeping on a recliner. The walls were cluttered with dense mathematical formulas written in various pen marks. Finn couldn’t make much sense of these formulas, and he didn’t know what the man had been working on, but he sneakily gestured to Olivia Thatcher.

Olivia naturally had a way to decipher the formulas in the room using her car’s miniature hidden reconnaissance unit. Therefore, Finn didn’t need to worry himself.

“Gregory Worthington,” Jack said aloud.

“Huh?” The dazed man opened his eyes. When he saw the two men in the room, Finn observed a spark of intelligence flash in his eyes.

“Let me introduce you to someone,” Jack said, pointing behind him to Finn.

“No need for introductions, I know. Finn Lewis, originally from Bayan Nur City, Manchester district. The richest man in the world who completed this task in less than seven months, correct?” the young man referred to as Gregory spoke straight away.

“Yes, nice to meet you” Finn acknowledged with a nod.

“So you are here to get me out? But I’m a bit curious, what makes you think he can provide what I need?” Gregory glanced at Finn, then turned back toward Jack to ask his question.

“If he can’t provide it, then get ready to stay here until you die of old age, or after many years, get eliminated by society. I really don’t understand your way of thinking. He possesses a new type of CPU made from graphene material. I believe you should know what graphene is. You’ve been here for three years – still not outdated by the changing times, right?” Jack did not hide his disdain in his voice.

“Don’t worry, I know what graphene is. Now I have a question for you.” Gregory turned to face Finn, his intense gaze made Finn’s scalp tingle. Is this guy alright?

“Go ahead.” Finn responded without any hesitation.

In response to Finn’s assurance, Gregory immediately started rattling off a series of academic terms. Many of these were familiar to Finn as key issues that needed to be addressed in solving the application of graphene materials for CPUs. Although Finn appeared to do nothing all day, he had never neglected his studies. In his free time, he would read books and research materials. While these might seem outdated to Olivia and Zero, they were very advanced compared to the knowledge common in universities.

“What you mentioned is of little use. These indeed are key factors in making CPUs from graphene materials, but the problem can be bypassed. We have discovered a new type of additive. It is a previously unknown mineral on Earth.” Finn spoke casually. You might be a genius, but I’m no less.

Gregory’s eyes widened, he leaned in and asked pointedly,”The new type of additive, could it solve the issues I just mentioned?”

“Not only that, but it could also increase related performance by 45%.” Finn gave out the data.

“I want to talk to him privately.” Gregory immediately turned back to Jack.

“Young Master, the formulas written in this room involve various fields including quantum mechanics, CPU architecture design, and complex mathematical problems. In addition, it seems that he has solved two of the so-called ten hardest math problems on Earth.” Olivia’s voice sounded in Finn’s ear.

“You guys chat privately, I’ll wait for you at the main entrance. If you are willing to leave, just follow him out.” Jack said succinctly, then turned around and walked towards the door, closing it behind him, and walked off towards the distance.

Once Jack had left, Gregory immediately got up from his chair, headed towards the door and peered out of the window. When he was certain that Jack was gone, Gregory quickly turned back around, returned to his bed, and started rummaging through a cardboard box from beneath it. Under Finn’s watchful eyes, he first discovered an instrument from beneath the bed and then another one from the bookshelf.

In less than five minutes, he had scavenged seven or eight instruments from all corners of the room. As he started assembling these, suddenly Olivia’s voice rang in Finn’s ear, “Whoa, Young Master, our spy device has been detected and must retreat. I’m starting to see this guy in a new light. These are unique light-wave interference devices that can crack optical invisibility and contain principles to block electromagnetic communications. Although they seem simple, to be honest, it’s a surprise.”

Olivia’s comment also took Finn by surprise. Disrupt optical invisibility? That technology doesn’t exist on Earth yet, right? However, Finn kept his thoughts to himself as he silently watched him hastily assemble the contraption. Soon after completion, some wall sparks ejected from one of the terminals that had been hastily plugged into the wall socket, followed by a switch being flipped on.

Subsequently, the room was filled with a peculiar “humming” sound. This sound gradually amplified, followed by a “crackling” outburst of sparks, and a pale green arc light suddenly erupted from the peculiar device. Followed by a loud “pop” sound, sparks flew out from the device. The wall socket had turned into a charred black mess.
