Super Spender-Chapter 501 - 495: Ambushed (Part I)
Chapter 501: Chapter 495: Ambushed (Part I)
“Of course, it can be altered. The structure of this wormhole is unimaginably stable, with its space-time coordinates incredibly intact. If we adjust a fraction of the space-time coordinates, we should be able to connect to another space-time. Don’t you want to find another space-time? The allure of a complete space-time should speak for itself, right?” Gregory Worthington said, visibly excited.
“Hold on, don’t do anything rash.” Finn Lewis felt a cold shiver, Damn it, the allure of a complete space-time? Obviously, he was aware of it. But do you know what the space-time you’re connecting to even looks like?
“Have you considered what might happen if we fail?” Lewis continued, seriousness creeping into his voice. Despite doubts about whether zero could pull it off, he was convinced this whole affair was dubious.
“I’ve mulled over a few possibilities. Firstly, the wormhole might close, severing ties with the other space-time permanently. Although I have no idea how this six-dimensional wormhole was opened, it surely required enormous energy. Plus, its stability means that it could very well close down. The second possible scenario is that a botched attempt could set off a spatial energy vibration capable of obliterating the earth in one-millionth of a second.” Worthington explained, with the utmost sincerity.
“Damn it!” Lewis couldn’t help but swear. Hell, destroying the entire Earth in one-millionth of a second, are you seriously delving into this research with such impunity? “What’s the likelihood of failure?” Lewis asked, unable to resist.
“Roughly around 30%.” Worthington thought and gave an approximate figure.
“Please continue your research, and don’t touch anything else.” Lewis was quite straightforward in his response. Are you joking? One out of three chances of failure, and failure could result in the entire Earth being destroyed, do you dare to go this far?
“Alright, I was merely asking out of curiosity. It seems you’re not as courageous as I thought. Following science often means taking sacrifices.” Worthington responded, a tad disappointed.
Lewis felt his stomach sink. Do sacrifices equate to gambling?
“Don’t worry, even if we wanted to, we couldn’t do it. We don’t have that much energy.” Worthington shrugged, appearing indifferent, after seeing Lewis’ face.
Now, Lewis was genuinely pissed. Damn it! Is this some kind of joke to you? “There’s another reason I sought you out. I’m extremely curious about the other world. Is there a way you could bring me along to take a look?” Worthington inquired, his curiosity overruling any concerns about Lewis’ mood.
“Go ahead, Henry Lewis can arrange it for you.” Finn forced a smile, waved him away, and spoke up.
“Then, boss, you go back to sleep.” Worthington turned around and made for the exit without missing a beat.
With a bitter smile, Lewis grumbled to himself, there’s no way he could sleep now after being jolted awake. Climbing out of bed, Lewis felt a headache coming on. But before long, he mused, could this not be the role of a scientist? While he had the space-time portal, Lewis could only merely use it. He couldn’t possibly investigate it further. However, in just one night, Worthington had achieved significant results.
Though he couldn’t use these results right away, the amassed knowledge would undoubtedly augment his team’s technological competency. This wealth of technological knowledge wasn’t a direct extraction from zero; it belongs to Lewis and humanity, independent of any extraterrestrial assistance, such as zero’s.

After the two concluded their discussion, Lewis planned to return to the Flame Nation. His company on the prairie was, after all, in the throes of a construction frenzy.
The current airport construction process would probably take several years just for the building process, and Lewis didn’t have that kind of time to spare. Thus, his new airport adopted the latest construction methods; over 60% of the structure consisted of directly-exchanged prefabricated components.
For the remaining foundational construction components, by ramping up the labor and machine power, the build speed was immensely rapid. The site was mostly desolate, with some farmlands. After Lewis paid a hefty sum, the land acquisition process was completed swiftly, speeding up the construction as a result.
“Speed up the new airport construction. This way, the shipment of some goods can be done via planes next.” Lewis remarked while nodding his head. Before he could finish, a shrill, crimson alarm burst out from Olivia Thatcher’s car. The windshield, which was indistinguishable from a regular one, lit up rapidly; several large red exclamation marks appeared on it.
“Young Master, I am taking over this car’s control rights. I have advised Ms. Fishy Wells to head back home.” Olivia Thatcher warned out loud.
Before Lewis could question why, Olivia’s car abruptly drifted on the road, completed a 360-degree spin on the spot, swiftly turned to the opposite side of the highway, and retraced the original route.
In the blink of an eye, she had the car racing at over 150 kilometers per hour. Moreover, a seatbelt sprung out securing Lewis firmly to his seat. Immediately after, she steered the vehicle into a side road.
“What’s going on?” There weren’t many cars on this route, Olivia bumped up the speed to nearly 200 kilometers per hour. Given the road conditions, it was essentially the limit. The shrill warning in Olivia’s car showed no signs of slowing down but seemed to be increasing. Despite seeing nothing out of the ordinary outside the window, Lewis spotted two fast-approaching red dots on the car’s radar.
“Someone is trying to assassinate you, Young Master.” Olivia’s tone became stern.
Startled, Lewis responded nonchalantly, “Assassinate me? Are you joking? Who would it be? Our car here can withstand a rocket launcher, so what weapon could possibly…”
“Watch out!” Before Lewis could finish, Olivia’s voice thundered by, the fast-moving car suddenly flipped to the side, followed by a round of rotating somersaults in the air. It felt as though Lewis had stepped right into a roller coaster, performing over a dozen flips within seconds. With a “crash,” after the serial flips, Olivia’s car landed back on all four wheels. The shrill noise blared as the vehicle created giant plumes of cyan smoke due to friction with the ground and then rocketed forward at horrifying speed.
A strong thrust came from behind, Lewis was held in place by the tremendous acceleration. “Damn it!” Only then did he manage to take a breath, swearing when the flipping roller coaster ride nearly had him barf.
