Super Spender-Chapter 572 - 566: Achieving
Chapter 572: Chapter 566: Achieving
Finn Lewis and Flying Horse Company inked a deal remarkably swiftly, all within twenty-four hours. Obviously, Flying Horse Company went all out. After their agreement was signed, media outlets in the Graham Kingdom reported that the world’s richest man, Finn Lewis, had seemingly arrived in their country, as somebody had sold them a photograph of him. Following one media outlet’s report, many other outlets in the Graham Kingdom began covering the story.
As for what Finn Lewis was doing there, hadn’t they noticed the people who met him at the airport were from Flying Horse Company? However, to Lewis’ surprise, immediately after the agreement was made with the Flying Horse Company, someone came knocking. He was quite straightforwardly waiting at the entrance of the hotel of Flying Horse Company. Yet, as long as the people from Flying Horse Company allowed it, Lewis naturally had no intention of stopping him, showing him due respect. Both parties sat together in the hotel coffee shop.
“Mr. Lewis, it’s an honor to finally meet you.”
“Mr. Covant, I’m delighted to meet you too.” Finn Lewis extended his hand towards this man who seemed to not be much over forty years old. This man with light blond hair was the current head of the Covant Family, the largest family in the Graham Kingdom, and clan chief – Steven Cavendish.
“Mr. Lewis, the reason I’m here is firstly to acquaint myself with you, and secondly, to inquire about the kind of agreement you’ve reached with Flying Horse Company.” Even though Steven Cavendish acted as the head of the Covant Family, it was not incredibly large and, besides, he had a sister and mother. Despite having decision-making power, Steven still needed to discuss matters with his mother and sister when he got home.
A lot of people might not have heard of the Covant Family, but many people would know about another company – Eldora. Unlike the Flying Horse Company, the full-fledged, family-run business Bavarian Mechanical Manufacturing Factory, also known as the Eldora Company, is the only one of its kind worldwide. The Covant Family’s visit here was of course due to Eldora’s concern.
“Well, it’s nothing special. I acquired about fifty percent ownership of Flying Horse Company.” Lewis swiftly responded.
At the utterance of this statement, Steven Cavendish was taken aback. Although Eldora Company was similarly involved in military enterprises, its standing in the Graham Kingdom was nowhere near as high as that of Flying Horse Company. Yet, Lewis claimed to have acquired fifty percent ownership of Flying Horse Company, implying that he could easily gain control of the entire company. Having someone else take over Flying Horse Company didn’t seem plausible.
However, judging from Lewis’ demeanor, he didn’t appear to be lying. Although Covant wasn’t all that familiar with Lewis, he did know that while Lewis might be audacious, he never bragged. You might think he is bluffing, but he’s actually stating the truth.
Steven Cavendish remained silent. He, indeed, wished for Eldora to collaborate with Lewis. The reason was simple – just because Flying Horse didn’t value the Flame Nation market didn’t mean Eldora didn’t. Eldora cared about it just as much. Although the automotive industry in the Belmare Country hadn’t been significantly impacted in other parts of the world, it had definitely been severely affected in the Flame Nation market.
Thus, this was a golden opportunity. Market share was not something that could be captured overnight in the automotive industry. However, Lewis’ presence hinted that the Flame Nation officials were probably prepared to purge Belmare Country’s products from the Flame Nation. This would not likely be a short-term action. If it were, the cost currently borne by the Flame Nation would be too high.
However, the damage caused to Belmare Country did not seem quite enough yet. Therefore, nobody was sure what the outcome would be. But, for a capitalist, risks are meant to be taken as long as it promises sufficient profits. There is no such thing as an absolutely risk-free gain.
“May I know the agreement you’ve reached with Flying Horse Company? Is there any chance I could find out what cost you had to bear to have Flying Horse Company agree to your terms?” After some thought, Steven Cavendish finally asked.
“Well, it’s not about bearing any considerable cost. It’s more like a win-win collaboration. I granted them authorization to use some of the technology applied in Goddess of Light cars, such as autonomous driving, automatic temperature regulation, etc. Meanwhile, they will also have to significantly develop electric cars. Precedence will be given to electric cars henceforth in Flying Horse Company. Finally, Flying Horse will intensify its efforts to establish factories in Flame Nation. All Flying Horse cars in Flame Nation will undergo a price drop of thirty percent.” Lewis didn’t hide anything. He outlined the key points of their collaboration.
Now, Lewis needn’t be apprehensive about this. Since the agreement was already signed, Flying Horse Company was effectively his company now. Naturally, Lewis needn’t fear having his conversation restrained in his own company.
After listening to this, a perplexed look crossed Steven’s face. After a moment, Steven Cavendish finally asked: “Mr. Lewis, when do you plan to return to your home country?”
“Unless there are any unexpected circumstances, I’ll be leaving on a flight tonight.” Lewis nodded in response.
“Would you consider giving us one day’s time?” Steven Cavendish asked earnestly.
“What do you mean, Mr. Cavendish? Are you looking to collaborate?” Lewis, looking somewhat curious, asked Steven Cavendish. The reason Lewis hadn’t approached Eldora before was not because of their technology or any other reason. It was purely because the Covant Family was generally quite conservative and they most likely wouldn’t have agreed to such a proposal. Therefore, Lewis thought it better to approach Flying Horse Company, backed by a bunch of investors and directors. The outcome was expectedly better.
The situation proved Lewis’ belief to be true. Although there were more directors in Flying Horse Company, their efficiency was also much greater.
“Yes, if we decide to sell half of Eldora’s shares to Mr. Lewis, would we be offered the same terms?” Steven Cavendish asked.
Lewis was taken aback by Steven Cavendish’s question. Surprised, Lewis replied, “I always thought the Covant Family was rather conservative.”
“Being conservative does not necessarily mean we’re blind to the situation. Currently, the automobile industry is at a unique turning point worldwide. If we miss it, we will be completely eliminated.” Steven promptly replied.
Lewis pondered on it for a while, then raised his thumb up and said, “Absolutely, if you’ve made the decision, you would be given the same terms as Flying Horse.” The other party didn’t demand more. In this world, in any industry, you can’t have the complete pie to yourself. Even if Flying Horse could snatch some market share from Eldora using its technological edge, the proportion wouldn’t be too vast. Given this, why not join forces with Eldora in expanding the market and taking over shares from a third party?
