Super Spender-Chapter 695 - 689: Dad is Angry
Chapter 695: Chapter 689: Dad is Angry
Even though he had no idea where Finn Lewis got his confidence from, Woodson Wood didn’t dare to gamble. After all, what good would compensation for his life do if he was dead!?
So, Woodson Wood, with his broken leg, was dragged straight out. The security guards didn’t politely escort him out this time, they lifted him up without hesitation and dropped him directly onto the ground. This time he was truly thrown.
This was only because T1000 had controlled his strength within normal range, only throwing him a few meters away. Otherwise, he could have been fatally injured. Woodson, as an average person, might deal with a minor fall just fine, but with his fractured leg, any movement could worsen his condition.
With a terrible shriek, the extreme pain caused Woodson to black out. His bodyguards, witnessing this, took off running. They were just his bodyguards. If their boss was not spared, they stood no chance at all.
Although a few of the security guards had broken arms, they were much more resilient than Woodson. They helped each other up and quickly left to help Woodson, who was left outside. One of the bodyguards had started calling for emergency medical help on his way out.
Finn paid no mind to the guards. He waved his hand and immediately a security guard came over to clean up the roses on the floor. His gaze on Kay Lee never wavered. After a while, tears blurred Kay’s vision. She covered her mouth, ran to Finn, and flung herself into his arms, gripping him tightly, promising never to let go.
Holding Kay in his arms, Finn felt an indescribable sense of relief. The dreamlike, surreal feeling was gone. Now, everything seemed peaceful.
“It’s okay, don’t cry. I’m back, aren’t I? Look, I’m not hurt at all. Moreover, I’ve accomplished everything I planned to do,” Finn softly said, caressing Kay’s long hair.
“Hmm, can you promise not to leave me behind anymore?” Kay mumbled softly, her face buried in Finn’s chest.
“Sure,” Finn agreed promptly, feeling a bit more confident now.
“Let’s go home. I want to leave the company matters to others. I want to go home,” Finn suggested in a soft voice.
“Let’s go home,” Kay nodded earnestly, wiping away her tears. Finn wrapped his arm around Kay’s waist and said, “Olivia, Luna Starfield, I’ll leave everything here to you.”
It wouldn’t make a difference even if Kay left right now. The Virtual World Corporation was no longer what it used to be. It was still a new company, yet it was now a vast multinational group and a private company about to go public. Given these circumstances, the company naturally had a complete team, not to mention several intelligent robots and the behind-the-scenes work by Olivia.
Whether Kay left for a while or even for a few years, it wouldn’t cause any problems. By the time Finn walked out the main door, Woodson had been revived by his subordinates, though they hadn’t left the premises. They’d just moved to the side, afraid that blocking the main entrance would cause Finn to retaliate again.
But Finn ignored him, getting into his car and driving Kay home. freēnovelkiss.com
“Um, don’t get mad when we get home. Our parents might have been quite irritable lately,” Kay said hesitantly, seemingly worried.
During Finn’s absence, when he’d been unreachable and seemed as if he’d disappeared, his parents were almost furious to death. If not for Kay understanding the actual situation and speaking on Finn’s behalf, his parents would have started looking for him frantically.
Since the construction of Finn’s villa hadn’t been completed, his parents had moved back home but were only living in a temporary villa.
As Finn parked the car inside the villa, his father happened to be watering the plants outside. Hazel Lewis was somewhere around. Upon seeing Finn’s car, Finn’s father thought it was Kay and went forth with a smile. However, when he saw Finn emerging from the driver’s seat, his mood took a drastic turn.
Without uttering a word, he threw his watering can at Finn. This time, Hazel, who’d been drinking Yunwu tea lately, had his strength increased, although without any special training. So he was different from the farmer he used to be.
With full force, the watering can was hurled toward the car. Finn was also shocked, not expecting his father to be this hot-tempered. The watering can hit the car hood with a loud “BANG!” and then bounced onto the ground, spilling water everywhere.
Kay was also startled. She didn’t expect Hazel’s anger to be so intense. “Dad,” she said hesitantly. “Kay, don’t call me ‘Dad’. I don’t deserve it. We, the Lewis Family, owe you. Kay, go inside first. Finn, come here!” Hazel yelled.
“Dad, what’s the matter? I’m back, aren’t I?” Finn never thought his father could be so angry. After all, he had said his goodbyes before leaving.
“Back? You have the nerve to say that! Come here.” Hazel pointed at Finn and ordered loudly.
Finn hesitated for a moment, then carefully approached Hazel. Just as he got closer, Hazel raised his hand to slap him, but stopped his hand just before it hit Finn.
“Come in.” Hazel didn’t slap him. He pointed to the garage next to the villa and spoke.
Finn gave a bitter smile and went in without arguing. Hazel followed Finn into the garage. After closing the garage door, Hazel picked up a broom from the side and thrashed Finn’s back. This time, Hazel didn’t hold back, the sound was rather loud.
However, for Finn, even without activating the Katsumoto Body Protection, this kind of attack didn’t harm him physically. But he had to pretend it did, or else his father would be even angrier. Isn’t it a universally accepted fact that fathers can spank their sons?
“Dad, what are you doing?” Finn asked, sounding a little wronged.
