Super Template System In Marvel and Beyond-Chapter 218: National Competition X
Chapter 218 - National Competition X
With a flick of his wrist, Dave cast Elemental bolts, and the shattered barrier fragments turned into dozens of magic bolts that surged toward Kraugel like guided missiles.
This was the advantage of Mumud's specialty: Magic Simplification. He didn't need to chant much or prepare complex formulas for certain spells. He could simply shape the mana into his desired form as he wished.
Kraugel's body twisted and turned with the grace of a master swordsman — White Light steps! — he vanished and reappeared behind Dave, his sword slashing down.
But Dave spun, blocking with the staff, metal clashing with enchanted wood, a thunderous crack shaking the ground beneath them.
The shockwave pushed both of them back, dirt and sparks flying.
Then—
Both charged at the same time.
Magic surged.
Sword gleamed.
The arena became a blur of light and sound.
Their abilities, their timing, their instincts — everything was perfect.
"Amazing! We're witnessing a clash of gods!!" the announcer cried out, voice barely rising above the roar of the crowd.
And still — neither had fallen.
Both stood, panting, bruised, but grinning.
"You still holding back?" Kraugel asked, smirking.
"I was about to ask you the same," Dave replied.
Kraugel charged at him while Dave blinked away, dodging effortlessly.
"Over there! It's the legendary magic chant—Hero King Dave!" the broadcast roared through the mic, as Dave suddenly vanished again using Blink, reappearing a moment later with Madar's phantom steps and another movement skill ready. His actions flowed like a dance, a blur of precision and speed.
"Damn... do I really have to use it now?" Kraugel muttered to himself. His Movement skill was still on cooldown, leading him not being able to catch up with Dave.
"It's been five seconds... I need to buy just a little more time before unleashing my power spell."
Just as he thought that, Kraugel appeared in front of him again, already mid-swing, moving here and there like a phantom.
"So you used it," Dave said with a slight smile, watching Kraugel carefully.
There was only one skill in this entire match that Dave was truly wary of—Super Sensitivity. It consumed 100% of the user's mana, but in return, it tripled attack power and speed, while also doubling all other stats. A terrifying trump card.
And now, Kraugel had activated it. He had no other choice.
Dave's expression shifted. "Then I'll get serious too."
He immediately began a magic chant—his Magic Enchant skill. This rare spell allowed him to fuse his magic into his weapon, transforming a simple sword strike into a devastating magical technique.
As the aura around him pulsed violently, Dave raised his sword.
In a blur, he swung—releasing the legendary spell in a slash like form increasing its speed and also used Lock on with it.
From Dave's blade, a massive phantom demon emerged—its form cloaked in shadows and fire. With a deafening roar, it swept its broad, spiked tail straight at Kraugel.
Kraugel's eyes widened as he tried to dodge, activating every evasive instinct and movement skill he had left. But it was too late.
The demon's tail struck mid-air, unleashing a shockwave of raw power.
[You have taken 79,256 damage]
[You are stunned due to sudden massive health loss]
[Title: Hero activated – You have overcome the stun effect]
Kraugel gasped, barely catching himself. His body trembled, but he was still standing.
"You're still in the game," Dave said, almost impressed.
"I am," Kraugel muttered, eyes narrowed. But he knew... he had nothing left. No mana, no cooldowns ready, no skills left to use.
Dave gave a slight nod. "Then this is checkmate."
A glowing magical missile formed behind Dave, then rocketed forward with a soft hum. It struck Kraugel square in the chest.
His body froze, the force too much to bear.
[Kraugel has logged out]
The arena fell silent.
And then—an explosion of cheers erupted.
The Hero King had won.
The crowd was frozen for a breathless moment, stunned by the sheer intensity of what they had just witnessed. And then—
BOOM.
A roaring wave of cheers exploded from the audience like a crashing tide.
"HE DID IT!"
"THE HERO KING WINS!"
"DAVE! DAVE! DAVE!"
Fireworks erupted above the virtual stadium. Colorful lights danced across the skies as confetti rained down like pixelated stardust.
Back in the player booth, Dave slowly lowered his hand, letting out a quiet exhale. Sweat dripped from his brow, but his eyes remained calm—focused. Victorious.
His team burst in.
They jumped at him congratulating him as he just nodded in return.
As Dave was chatting with his team, someone approached from the crowd—it was Kraugel, still in his casual clothes, this time not as a competitor but as himself.
"This is our first time meeting in real life," Kraugel said, offering a hand.
Dave nodded and shook it firmly. "Yeah. I honestly had a great time. No one has ever pushed me to think that much in any battle."
Kraugel chuckled. "Haha, I guess I should be honored then."
"The honor's all mine," Dave replied with a small smile.
"So... where do you usually stay in Satisfy?" Kraugel asked. "I'd like to visit sometime. Remember, I also had a fun sparring match with you."
Dave nodded again and handed him a piece of paper with an address on it. "Just a lord of Winston now. You can find me there anytime."
Kragel grinned and gave a casual salute. "See you, then. Next time, I'll win."
"In your dreams," Dave replied with a light laugh.
As Kragel turned to leave, Dave said.
"By the way... I left something for you in your pocket," he said. "Don't check it now. Check it in secret. It's not dangerous—it might actually help you."
Kraugel raised an eyebrow, but didn't question further. Their eyes met for a moment before Kragel smiled faintly and walked off.
Later that evening, back at his residence, Kraugel sat on his couch, checked his pocket, and saw it: a small red vial with shimmering red liquid inside. The item description read:
Super Health Potion
Can heal all internal injuries and illnesses.
Note: "If you think this is a prank, then just treat it like a weird strawberry drink. Who knows? Maybe it'll actually work."
Kraugel blinked. "Is this... a joke?"
