Supernatural Insight Eyes-Chapter 1857 - 1858: Encountering an Old Acquaintance
"I’m... I’m fine..."
This was the first thing Fang Wei said after Ye Qiu disappeared.
The surrounding youths breathed a sigh of relief; if anything had happened to Fang Wei, they wouldn’t have escaped accountability and would be pursued by the Fang family.
At this moment, Fang Wei’s heart was tumultuous, although Ye Qiu’s final three palms did not harm him, the aura Ye Qiu exuded etched an indelible mark on his heart.
In front of Ye Qiu, Fang Wei felt as if he was facing a Saint; his own strength was entirely insufficient to resist. This was what made Ye Qiu most terrifying. Despite his youth, while Fang Wei was considered a top martial artist among Luohé City’s younger generation, against Ye Qiu, he couldn’t even retaliate. What did this indicate?
Fang Wei knew very well that they were not on the same level at all; Ye Qiu did not hurt him simply because he couldn’t be bothered.
"This person’s identity is definitely not ordinary. I must find out who he is." At this moment, Fang Wei cared little about his reputation. Ye Qiu’s appearance made him realize this was not someone he could easily provoke, or he’d have already been dead.
No wonder Bai Muxue stopped him from taking action before; for someone who could ride a dragon carriage and now display such strength, how could he be ordinary?
The departing Ye Qiu hadn’t thought much about it; he hadn’t delivered a killing blow in the end only because he didn’t want trouble. His purpose here was to verify the identity of the woman suspected to be Shangguan Mingyue; if he killed Fang Wei, the forces behind him would inevitably scour the city for him.
Fang Wei might be quite capable among the younger generation, but he was merely at the early stage of the Divinity Transformation Realm, not even reaching the mid to late stage.
Ye Qiu, as a Martial Artist at the Returned Void Realm capable of slaying a Saint, couldn’t possibly be injured by a Divinity Transformation Realm Martial Artist. So when Fang Wei used the Great Sun Fist, Ye Qiu remained unmoved, covering his back with power. No matter how formidable the opponent’s technique, it couldn’t harm him.
After the Heavenly Tribulation of the Shattered Void Realm, Ye Qiu’s physical body had reached an extreme.
Although not yet at the Saint’s level of rebirth from a drop of blood, his body was pushed to the peak of the Returned Void Realm.
In the future, breaking through the early, mid, and late stages of the Returned Void Realm would not improve the physical body’s strength; it was hard to grow further.
Despite not finding the Shadow Division and having a skirmish with Fang Wei, Ye Qiu’s state of mind remained unchanged.
For now, no one seems to recognize his identity, nor do they know he’s the Alchemist who crafted Divine Grade pills at the Zhu residence.
Though there hasn’t been much gain, Ye Qiu has become curious about the peculiar shop, deciding to thoroughly investigate it.
Ye Qiu didn’t know that after his confrontation with Fang Wei, his indifferent departure quickly spread across Luohé City.
If a nobody had acted, it would be insignificant, but Fang Wei is someone; the Fang family is a notable force in Luohé City, coupled with the youths witnessing Ye Qiu’s prowess. Suddenly, many factions began searching for Ye Qiu.
Just as Ye Qiu was about to explore that shop, someone came to visit.
"Who are you looking for?" Ye Qiu scrutinized the person in front of him.
"I’ve heard that you easily defeated Fang Wei. My lord wishes to meet you. I wonder if you might honor us with a meeting." The person spoke politely with a smile.
"Apologies, I have matters to attend to." Ye Qiu directly declined; he had no time to waste meeting some noble.
Clearing up the matter regarding the suspected Shangguan Mingyue was of utmost importance.
Everything else seemed trivial to Ye Qiu.
The person didn’t expect Ye Qiu to refuse so quickly, and just as Ye Qiu was about to close the door, the person continued, "Please wait, you might not know my lord. My lord is the second young master of the Zhang family in Luohé City. You might not know our second young master, but you surely know the name of our eldest young master, Zhang Yunke."
The person highlighted Zhang Yunke’s identity, trying to press Ye Qiu by the stature of Zhang Yunke.
Zhang Yunke!
The name rapidly appeared in Ye Qiu’s mind, invoking all related information. Previously, from a man’s hands, he had bought data for ten star coins, which included Zhang Yunke’s information. Last night, Ye Qiu perused it out of boredom; though not entirely trustworthy, most of it should be true.
The Zhang family, in Luohé City, was considered a sizeable house, akin to the Zhu family, especially Zhang Yunke, whose martial arts talent was highly praised. He was one of the three great young masters of Luohé City. The other two’s prowess among the younger generation was first-class, hinting at the accolades shared with Zhang Yunke, who was the pride of the Zhang family and a rising star.
The person saw Ye Qiu absent-minded and inwardly smirked, thinking that surely now Ye Qiu would show some respect, for any young Martial Artist in Luohé City, who would dare disrespect Zhang Yunke?
While the person waited for Ye Qiu to accompany him, instead, he heard Ye Qiu say, "I have mentioned, I have matters to attend to. You may leave."
Ye Qiu finished speaking, shutting the door before giving another chance for the person to speak.
The person outside the door was stunned, as Ye Qiu refused to comply, even disregarding Zhang Yunke’s face.
"How ungrateful! Just because you defeated Fang Wei, do you think you’re invincible? Let’s see!" The person left with a cold expression.
Ye Qiu arrived in Luohé City solely to uncover information related to Shangguan Mingyue and had no interest in geniuses or noble houses. He wasn’t planning to establish himself in Luohé City, hence he was indifferent, thinking it was everyone’s business, their might was their own concern, nothing to do with him.
Once this wave of people left, within ten minutes, another knock came.
Ye Qiu similarly used the excuse ’busy with matters, unavailable’ to refuse.
After four to five groups came by, Ye Qiu decided he could no longer stay; otherwise, it would never end.
Ye Qiu planned to leave the inn, and switch to another. With his whereabouts spread, peace would be unattainable.
Not interested in meeting anyone, nor wanting to make excuses, leaving promptly was wise.
Just as Ye Qiu stepped out of the inn, his gaze shifted; noticing a conflict happening not far away: one person being surrounded by several youths.
Usually disinterested in irrelevant matters, Ye Qiu merely glanced, intending to leave. However, as he walked a few steps away, the besieged figure abruptly flew to Ye Qiu and landed at his feet.
Since this person was beaten and propelled there, Ye Qiu didn’t intend to intervene, only glancing. But upon seeing the person’s face, Ye Qiu was suddenly shaken.
The person was an elder nearing fifty, his hair disheveled and body ragged. His face bore numerous injuries, looking quite miserable.
Ye Qiu’s tremor wasn’t because of anything else but familiarity with the person, whom he had known long ago, back on Earth’s ancient ground.
This person, presumed to have perished with the rupture of the ancient grounds, appeared in the ancestral land. After the shock came joy for Ye Qiu.
What did this imply? Ye Qiu’s heart couldn’t suppress the excitement.
