'I didn't gain anything...?'

Kael frowned as he checked his status. No improvements, no bonuses. Nothing.

'Did she mess up the system when she hugged me? I'm sure the message appeared...'

Not everything always went as planned, and Kael had already considered this possibility. From the very beginning, his strategy was clear: to conquer the most powerful women who crossed his path. Not just out of desire, but for survival. The stronger his companions, the stronger he would become.

However, that didn't mean he would act without any feelings toward them. That kind of behavior would be pathetic.

Still, this new "problem" was somewhat... frustrating.

"Ah..." He sighed, mentally closing the system screen.

Eva, sitting beside him, shot him an amused look. "What's wrong?"

"I'm tired..." Kael murmured, leaning back in his seat.

Eva smirked. "Well, considering how much you've been training, it took you long enough to feel that. Actually, I'm impressed you managed to keep up with that girl's energy."

Kael didn't even need to ask who she was talking about. "Irelia is a pain... but she's a good girl."

"Oh, fufufu~" Eva let out a chuckle. "You should be proud."

"Hm? Why?" Kael raised an eyebrow.

Eva crossed her arms and tilted her head slightly. "She hasn't even truly controlled her own strength yet... Haven't you ever noticed the bracelet she wears?"

Kael blinked a few times. "Hm? What about her bracelet?"

"It's a protection seal." Eva revealed casually.

"A seal, huh?" Kael narrowed his eyes, surprised. "That's unexpected..."

Eva pointed at his wrist. "You're wearing one too, you know?"

Kael followed her gaze and saw the bracelet on his own arm. The same bracelet that...

"Wait..." he muttered.

Eva smirked. "That's the same one you left with Sylphie when you were little, isn't it?"

He narrowed his eyes, touching the accessory. "Ah... yeah. She gave it back to me before leaving."

"Makes sense." Eva nodded. "And it wasn't even intentional. Your mother discovered that Sylphie was connected to the World Tree and left that 'protection' for you to give to her, remember? You ended up leaving it with Sylphie when you ran away that time..."

Kael's mind drifted back eight years, recalling the day he slipped through the slave traders.

"Now, a warning." Eva leaned slightly toward him. "Don't use that in battle. That seal is limiting your strength by 50%."

Kael froze.

"Wait... so this whole time I—"

"Looks like we've arrived." Eva cut him off, smiling playfully as the carriage began to slow down.

Kael remained silent, processing the revelation.

'So I've been fighting with only half of my power this whole time...?'

He was still absorbing the information when Eva's voice brought him back to reality.

"Well, I guess this is where we part ways." She crossed her legs, leaning comfortably in her seat, a teasing smile playing on her lips. "I still have my contract to fulfill with the princess, so for now, you're on your own. Right?"

Kael looked up at her, unfazed. "Yeah, I expected that." His voice was calm, but his eyes carried a renewed determination.

Eva watched him for a moment before chuckling. "Typical. Nothing ever seems to shake you, huh?"

Kael just smirked.

The carriage finally stopped, and both of them stepped out.

Before them stood a monumental arch, its imposing structure decorated with glowing runes. Beyond it, an endless crowd of young nobles walked toward the grand Azalith Academy, the dream of any aspiring great figure.

Eva, always pragmatic, quickly turned to Kael and handed him a sealed envelope.

"Go to the entrance and present your admission letter," she said, but before he could respond, she pulled out another document and handed it to him as well. "Also... Adalric asked me to give you this."

Kael raised an eyebrow, taking the letter. "Hm? What's this?"

Eva crossed her arms, her expression carrying a hint of irritation. "Tsk... your master won't be able to train you, so..." She paused, clicking her tongue before continuing. "He recommended you to one of the academy's swordsmanship instructors."

There was a certain tone of displeasure in her voice, almost... jealous?

[Reward Delivered! Academy Recommendation Letter!]

Kael blinked as he saw the system message.

'Damn, I thought the system forgot about this reward... it's been weeks!' He thought, holding back a laugh.

He looked at Eva and then at the letter. If Adalric had moved his influence to secure a swordsmanship teacher for him, then this person must be someone truly remarkable... and Eva was clearly not very happy about it.

The probability of it being a woman is 99%. Kael concluded mentally before taking the letter from Eva's hand.

He observed the seal on the letter for a moment, but before he could say anything, Eva smirked and leaned toward him.

"Now... go. We'll see each other around, Kael Scarlet."

Before he could respond, he felt her lips press against his in a quick but firm kiss. A sudden warmth rushed through his body, and when Eva pulled away, a mischievous glint danced in her eyes.

"See you later," she said, her voice filled with amusement before turning and disappearing into the crowd.

Kael stood still for a moment, savoring the sensation.

'Tsk... this woman...' He thought, running his tongue over his lips before storing the letter and heading toward the entrance of Azalith Academy.
