Supreme Husband System! & Supreme Wife System!-Chapter 776: Beatrice Weiss
Even before the disaster, Beatrice was a well-known restaurant critic, who had many ratings and articles about the most prestigious establishments in the world.
Her restaurant reviews were very popular, and many noted her professionalism and objectivity. Beatrice was incorruptible and always told only the truth, pointing out all the advantages and disadvantages of the establishments, not singling out favorites and not engaging in direct advertising. For this, she was loved and hated at the same time.
But Beatrice didn't care. It was her job, and she enjoyed it.
However, in addition to her job, Beatrice was also a gourmet who simply adored delicious food. She ran an anonymous blog where she shared her impressions of new dishes and was constantly looking for something unusual. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
After the disaster, Beatrice's life changed dramatically. The world around her was rapidly changing, the usual foundations were crumbling, then they were restored and adapted to new realities.
The world in which Beatrice lived, the world in which she felt like a fish in water, was not left out. There are new features, new, previously unseen ingredients and techniques. All this was bound to lead to a revolution in the culinary world. New incredible dishes, new incredible chefs — that's what everyone was waiting for.
But the wait dragged on. In the three years since the disaster began, no one has appeared who could show what cooking should be like in the new world.
As a gourmet, Beatrice was looking forward to this moment to enjoy new, never-before-seen dishes. She was looking forward to starting her new adventure, even giving up her former vocation as a restaurant critic and joining the Royce family in their search for people who could cook something new.
Beatrice realized that the world was beginning to gravitate towards an order where the strong ruled. Being an ordinary middle-aged woman, she understood that the Royce family remained one of the few that had not lost its influence and stood on par with other powerful families.
But most importantly, the Royce family focused on the world of cooking, and they had the greatest potential to succeed in this area. It is for this reason and because of her aspirations that she joined this family as an inspector of the quality of cooked dishes.
Over the years, many chefs have tried to achieve this goal, and some of them have achieved some success, but no one has been able to achieve the level that everyone, including Beatrice, so desired.
Beatrice did not give up hope.
She used to enthusiastically check every rumor about the appearance of an incredible dish, but over the past year this fervor has faded a little.
She was a little interested in the activities of several restaurants, but when it became clear that the secret of their success was not in the chefs, but in the ingredients, she immediately lost interest in it. Although the Royce family was actively looking for the source of these ingredients.
Beatrice, on the other hand, was still convinced that no matter how incredible the ingredients were, they would not be useful without a talented chef who knew how to cook them properly to reveal their best sides. That was exactly the kind of person she needed.
And so, once again, she heard the rumors.
"A small eatery, incredibly delicious food," Beatrice said, reading a message on her smartphone sent by the Royce family's information collection department. "Nothing unusual."
She had already received similar messages from this number so many times that she stopped being surprised.
"Moonshade Pies, huh?" she read the name of the establishment, and then, opening the map of the capital, she found out where it was located.
"It's quite far from the center, in one of the residential areas," Beatrice said with some displeasure, realizing that she would have to cover a considerable distance.
The thought that she might have a small chance of finding what she was looking for cheered her up a little, and she headed to the designated place to appreciate this "delicious" food.
When Beatrice finally reached her destination, her gaze immediately fell on the exterior of the eatery. In her estimation, he was rather plain.
Although she stopped working as a restaurant critic, the skills honed over the years have not disappeared. Every time she visited such establishments, she never stopped evaluating them.
But unlike in the old days, all her opinions remained only in her head, not reflected in long lines of reviews and articles.
As soon as she opened the door of the eatery, she immediately felt a pleasant unearthly fragrance that she had never felt before.
Such a surprise took her by surprise, and she froze in place, holding the door handle, and could not believe her feelings.
"This is… This is..." she couldn't find the words to describe this wonderful fragrance. It was amazing, because she was always good at writing texts and expressing her thoughts.
In the following moments, Beatrice, as if enchanted by the fragrance, seemed to be in a magical dream where all her dreams came true.
She went inside and, with the help of the charming maid, who in her eyes looked flawless, without any flaws that she usually noticed in the service, took her seat and began to study the menu.
Although most of the names of the dishes were familiar to her, Beatrice wanted to try them all. However, realizing that she would not be able to eat them all, she did what she always did: she ordered one dish from each category.
While waiting for her orders, she looked around the diner with a slight degree of admiration, wanting to evaluate it. However, her attention was distracted from the interior by how happily other customers were enjoying their food. Their eyes shone with sincere surprise and joy, and the smiles on their faces spoke of complete satisfaction.
This sight only increased Beatrice's anticipation.
"Have I finally found what I've been looking for?" she thought, still not believing what was happening. Forgetting to send the Royce family a message about her arrival, she began to evaluate the dishes.
When the first dish was brought to her, it looked just wonderful, and its flavor could not be accurately assessed. Beatrice began the tasting with excitement and hope. And when her expectations were fulfilled, and her taste buds caught a previously unseen taste, she could not contain her emotions and burst into tears.
She finally realized that she had found what she had been looking for and waiting for.
