Supreme Paragon Reborn: Humanity's Rise To Galactic Supremacy-Chapter 265: Ruthless Momentum
"Do you copy? Over." Bryce’s voice echoed through the interiors of the crew’s mechs. True to his word, he had taken on the role of operator. In simpler terms, he was their eyes and ears.
"Loud and clear." Michael answered, his eyes fixed on the towering portal amid the floating asteroids.
Within seconds, massive alien battleships began emerging from it, all heading straight toward the human forces.
Almost immediately, it became apparent that their ships paled in comparison to humanity’s warship. Sadly, they made up for that weakness in sheer numbers.
Humanity’s forces had been spread thin. At every location where the appearance of a portal was a possibility, only a single battleship had been deployed. If one were to fall, it would force an already overstretched force to divide and respond, or worse, require the intervention of the Emperor or one of the faction leaders. That would be a dire outcome, as they were meant to respond only to raiding Monarchs and Titans.
Bryce’s voice echoed once more.
"We’ve spotted thirteen ships. Readings indicate at least one Overlord aboard each of them!"
The appearance of an Overlord was no laughing matter. Normally, only Lords were dispatched to deal with such threats, as those in the Grandmaster realm were often overwhelmed by their power.
Michael, however, was not bound by normal limitations. He had already managed to kill Generals, while others of his realm still struggled against Elites.
Now that he had reached the Middle Grandmaster realm, it would not be an exaggeration to say that he stood a good chance of facing an Overlord in a frontal confrontation.
"It’s time to show the force of the Indomitable Alliance!" He smirked, his orders reaching the crew. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
"We’ll tear a path through and dock with the rightmost alien ship. We’ll face and eliminate the Overlord ourselves."
Certainly, it was a daring proposition. At the moment, several thousand mechs were deployed and waiting aboard the humanity warship, many of the experienced soldiers wearing grim expressions. They knew that confronting an Overlord was all but unavoidable.
From their point of view, what Michael suggested was no different from suicide. They would not only have to dodge the aliens’ energy blasts but also fight through thousands of enemies aboard the ship, on top of facing the Overlord itself.
If they had access to the crew’s communication channels and heard what Michael had planned, the other soldiers would no doubt have labeled him a madman.
Yet not even a second after he gave the order, the crew moved as one.
"We’re targeting an Overlord now? I guess we’ve officially made it to the big leagues!" Richard laughed.
"Let’s show them our might." Victoria said, unfazed.
"It’s been a long time since we charged in recklessly." Ava giggled.
"As expected from my rival!" Enzo proclaimed.
"Don’t let your guard down!" Amelia reminded.
"Piloting a mecha is actually kind of fun." Leo exclaimed.
Roar!
Cyberfang roared, the thrusters of its mechanized body flaring as it surged forward.
Leaving afterimages in their wake, they broke off from the formation, heading straight for the rightmost alien battleship.
"What are they doing?!"
"They must have lost their minds!"
As chaos threatened to spread across the gathered forces, Bryce connected the troops, his voice calm as a lake.
"The Indomitable Alliance, led by Michael, will handle the rightmost threat. Deploy your forces as you see fit to deal with the rest."
"Are you mad?! Taking on a battleship with less than a dozen mechs is a—"
Before the other troops or their operators could retort, Bryce cut the connection, leaving them completely bewildered.
Meanwhile, the crew had spread into a penetrating formation. Enemy shuttles surged out of the targeted ship, all directed at halting their advancement.
Michael and Claire met them at the very front, tasked with easing the pressure on the line behind them.
Claire’s piloting skills proved supreme. Her white mecha shifted into melee mode, utilizing a six-meter lance that flared with a fearsome red heat, reaching thousands of degrees. Her movements were graceful and fluid, so precise that it seemed as if the massive machine were merely an extension of her own body.
Regardless of how many threats tried to strike her, not one ever touched the veil of her mecha. She remained pristine, demonstrating the reason she was called the White Angel.
By contrast, Michael’s movements appeared rigid, unable to match her finesse. Yet his fighting style was raw power made methodical. With wide, sweeping strikes, he tore through everything in his path, whether alien shuttles or asteroids, without hesitation.
Unlike Claire, who treated her mech with care, Michael showed no attachment to his. Letting it accumulate damage, all in the name of pushing it past its limits. His approach to the alien threat made him seem more like a Black Demon than a soldier.
"Is this really your first time operating a mecha?" Claire asked in admiration, watching as he effortlessly turned the enemy forces into rubble. "Seriously, is there something you aren’t talented in?"
He chuckled warmly. "Talent? Nothing of the sort. I just had the most passionate teacher I could hope for."
Away from his gaze, she tensed her thighs, squeezing Mr. BunBun between them. This was where she usually kept her plushie during combat.
"That’s a shame... Here I thought I’d be spending more time teaching you the basics." She sighed dramatically.
"You know..." He paused briefly. "I’m not opposed to more private lessons in the future."
Claire giggled.
"Oh? You mean advanced lessons? Well, that depends on how much your performance can satisfy me~" She teased.
Fortunately, Bryce wasn’t able to eavesdrop on their conversation. Otherwise, the old man would’ve had such a big grin on his face that he wouldn’t have been able to focus on his task as an operator.
As the two tore through the enemy forces, the rest of the crew was no less impressive. Some attacked with rockets and lasers, cutting their numbers from afar, while others ensured Michael and Claire had support should the situation turn dire.
Like an unstoppable wave, nothing but death was left in the wake of their advance.
At blinding speed, they reached the battleship they had targeted from the start.
Now, it was time to begin their infiltration...
