Chapter 50: Triggered Chaos Martial Spirit

*Crash!*

The barrier shattered completely. Pieces of spiritual energy rained down like falling stars before dissolving into nothing.

The secret realm’s connection to the outside world was restored.

And immediately, Xian Tiandi felt multiple powerful auras converging on their location.

Golden Core cultivators. Many of them. All moving at maximum speed toward the ruins.

And two presences that made even the Golden Core cultivators seem insignificant by comparison.

Nascent Soul realm powerhouses.

"The sect has noticed," Elder Feng said quietly. "The barrier’s collapse alerted them that something was wrong."

Within seconds, figures began appearing at the edges of the plaza. Cultivators in Four Symbols Sect robes, all at Golden Core realm or above. They landed on broken pillars and rooftop edges, surrounding the area.

Then two figures descended from the sky itself.

The first was a woman who appeared to be in her thirties, though Xian Tiandi knew age meant nothing for cultivators at her level. She wore elegant robes embroidered with phoenix patterns. Her spiritual pressure was overwhelming, causing the very air to tremble.

Nascent Soul Realm Powerhouses.

The second was an older man with a long white beard. His robes bore the symbol of the Four Symbols Sect’s inner elder council. His presence was equally imposing.

Both of them immediately focused on the scene before them. The dead disciples. The unconscious Xian Yu in Xian Tiandi’s arms. The blood and destruction scattered across the plaza.

The woman’s eyes widened. "Yu’er!"

She shot forward, crossing the distance in an instant. This was a disciple of the Sect Master.

Xian Tiandi gently lowered his sister to the ground as the sect leader arrived. The woman knelt beside Yu’er, her hands glowing with healing energy as she examined her student.

"She’s alive," the sect leader said, relief flooding her voice. "Exhausted and injured, but alive."

She looked up at Xian Tiandi. "You are?"

"Xian Tiandi. Yu’er’s brother," he replied simply.

Recognition flashed in her eyes. "The one she mentioned. From the Xian Clan." She studied him more closely. "You saved her?"

"I arrived in time to help," Xian Tiandi said. "But she saved herself by holding out until we got here."

The sect leader nodded, then turned to Elder Feng and Elder Qiu. "Report. What happened here?"

Elder Feng stepped forward and recounted everything they’d witnessed. The barrier surrounding the secret realm. The three attackers. Liu Qian’s betrayal. The revelation about the Four Spirits Sect.

With each detail, the sect leader’s expression grew colder. By the end, her spiritual pressure had intensified to the point that several of the surrounding Golden Core cultivators took involuntary steps backward.

"Four Spirits Sect," she said quietly. The name carried the weight of ancient history and bitter betrayal. "After thousands of years, they dare to show themselves again."

The elderly Nascent Soul cultivator landed beside her. "Liu Qian was one of the Grand Elder’s Personal Disciples. And those two elders have been with the sect for over a century."

"I know," she said. Her voice was tight with controlled fury. "Which means they’re right. We have more traitors among our ranks. This infiltration runs deep."

She stood, her decision made. "I’m going after them. The teleportation technique they used has a limited range. If I move now, I might be able to track them down before they escape completely."

"Please, wait," the elderly cultivator began.

"No." Her voice cut through the air like a blade. "They nearly killed Xian Yu. And they claim to represent a sect that should have been destroyed millennia ago. I will not let this stand."

Spiritual energy erupted around her. Wings of phoenix fire materialized from her back, each feather burning with concentrated power.

*Whoosh!*

She shot into the sky like a comet, disappearing beyond the ruins at speeds that made even Elder Feng’s earlier movement seem slow.

The elderly Nascent Soul cultivator sighed. "She’s going to tear them apart if she catches them."

He turned to Yu’er’s unconscious form. "I’ll take the girl back to the sect immediately. She needs proper medical attention and rest."

He gestured, and Yu’er’s body floated gently into the air, surrounded by protective spiritual energy. "The rest of you, secure this area. Search for any clues about the Four Spirits Sect’s operations. And find the bodies of the other disciples. They deserve proper burial rites."

"Yes, Grand Elder," the surrounding Golden Core cultivators responded in unison.

The elderly man looked at Xian Tiandi. "You have my thanks for saving our disciple. The sect will not forget this debt."

Before Xian Tiandi could respond, the grand elder and Yu’er’s floating form rose into the air. Another burst of speed, and they were gone, heading back toward the Four Symbols Sect’s main compound.

The plaza suddenly felt much less crowded, despite all the Golden Core cultivators still present.

Elder Feng moved to Xian Tiandi’s side. "Young Master, we should return to the city. You’ve used a significant amount of spiritual energy. You need rest."

Xian Tiandi nodded slowly. The Qi Restoration Pill had helped, but he still felt drained from forcing the Supreme Taming Dao to reverse that assassination artifact.

But before he could agree to leave, he felt something.

A pulse of energy. Faint but distinct. Coming from deeper within the secret realm.

His Chaos Spirit Root resonated with it. The sensation was unmistakable. There was a treasure here. Something powerful. Something that called to the very foundation of his cultivation. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

’What is that?’ he thought, his eyes narrowing as he tried to pinpoint the source.

The resonance was coming from somewhere beyond the plaza. Deeper into the ruins. In an area that none of the Four Symbols Sect cultivators seemed to be investigating.

Xian Tiandi filed that information away. He couldn’t go searching for it now. Not with Elder Feng and Elder Qiu watching him. Not with dozens of sect cultivators swarming the area.

But he would return.

Later, when the secret realm was less crowded. When he could explore without raising questions.

Whatever treasure was calling to his Chaos Spirit Root, it was meant for him. The resonance made that clear.

"Yes," Xian Tiandi said finally, responding to Elder Feng’s suggestion. "Let’s return to the city."

The three of them began making their way back through the ruins. The Four Symbols Sect cultivators barely noticed them leave, too focused on their investigation and securing the bodies of the fallen disciples.

As they walked, Xian Tiandi’s mind worked through everything that had happened.
