Capítulo 1826: Chapter 2027: Didn’t Prepare Breakfast for You!!!

Hao Jian silently lamented in his heart. He wondered whether Liang Xiaohan fell asleep so quickly because she was uncomfortable from the fever, or if she naturally fell asleep that fast. She was already sound asleep in just a blink, which was really something extraordinary.

Thinking about this, he didn’t dwell on it further. Seeing that Liang Xiaohan was asleep, he decided not to disturb her; it would be bad if she woke up and couldn’t fall back asleep. So he simply took the quilt from her bedroom, draped it over her, and then turned on the air conditioner in the living room, adjusting it to a comfortable temperature.

After finishing all this, Hao Jian initially planned to leave and go home. But thinking that Liang Xiaohan had just taken medicine, and without knowing if her fever had subsided, he worried: what if the fever worsened by morning and there was no one to take her to the hospital?

So, after some contemplation, Hao Jian decided not to go back home for the time being. He would wait until Liang Xiaohan woke up the next morning to assess her condition. If her fever was severe and she refused to go to the hospital, he would carry her there if necessary. Although he had the ability to help reduce her fever.

But true talents often remain hidden; if revealed, they’re not genuine talents. So he didn’t want to show off his abilities excessively, just a part was enough. After all, he considered himself a very low-key person, didn’t he?

After thinking this through, seeing Liang Xiaohan sleeping so peacefully and comfortably on the sofa, he couldn’t help but feel that beauty does make everything look good—no matter what one is doing. Even in her sleep, Liang Xiaohan looked exceptionally beautiful.

However, Hao Jian silently lamented, it’s a pity she’s still so young, just a teenager in high school and also Yuwei’s cousin. If… none of this was the case, could another chapter of a story have unfolded?

Thinking of this, Hao Jian could only silently lament in his heart about how life is filled with helplessness and sorrow.

But these thoughts only lingered for less than three seconds. He had Shu Ya, whom he loved dearly, and also Liang Yuwei… which was more than satisfactory for him.

Thinking about all this, he lay down on the other end of the sofa and slowly drifted off to sleep. Quite a lot had happened that day, so he was a bit tired. After closing his eyes, sleep soon overtook him, and he slipped into the realm of dreams.

When he woke up the next morning and opened his eyes, the sun had already risen. As he opened his eyes, he suddenly caught a whiff of a delicious aroma, and without hesitation, he sat up, only to find a blanket draped over him.

Silently uncovering the blanket, he saw Liang Xiaohan busy in the kitchen. To his surprise, he had thought of Liang Xiaohan as a “fairy” who didn’t deign to do household chores. He didn’t expect her to be cooking breakfast herself, which really surprised him.

This demonstrates a truth: some people may seem one way, but in daily life, they can be entirely different. Take Liang Xiaohan, for example; at school, she appeared proud and aloof, but here in the three-bedroom apartment, dressed in sleepwear and making breakfast, she exuded a different vibe—much more approachable, without the coldness she showed at school.

While thinking this, he noticed Liang Xiaohan was fully engrossed in making breakfast, so he decided not to disturb her. He never thought this girl had been so feverish she almost fainted yesterday, and a single fever-reducing pill later, she seemed perfectly fine. Her antibodies must be quite strong indeed.

Just as he was thinking this, Liang Xiaohan had already finished preparing breakfast and turned to set the table. At this moment, she also noticed that Hao Jian was awake, but she looked at him with such indifference, as if he were air, nonexistent.

Feeling a bit displeased, Hao Jian thought to himself—here’s such a handsome, tall, and charismatic man like him, and yet he’s being ignored by Liang Xiaohan. So he got up, angrily walked over to her, and said, “Where’s the toiletries? I’m hungry, and I need to wash up and eat.”

Liang Xiaohan rolled her eyes at Hao Jian and said, “Open the box under the sink, you’ll see it. Help yourself.”

Hao Jian replied with a roll of his eyes and then automatically went to the sink, pulled open the box, and took out a new set of toiletries. Silently, he started washing up. The aroma of breakfast had already whetted his appetite, stirring up a strong sense of hunger in his stomach.

Soon, he was done with washing up, and wearing Liang Xiaohan’s rather feminine pink slippers, which looked a bit odd on him, he sat down at the dining table.

However, once seated, Liang Xiaohan merely threw a glance his way. Hao Jian looked at the table and saw that there was only breakfast in front of Liang Xiaohan, while his place had nothing, which puzzled him. If it was to prevent the food from getting cold and she was waiting for him to finish washing up, then now that he was seated, she should be bringing his breakfast out as well. But she showed no sign of moving, which really surprised him.

So Hao Jian curiously asked, “Where’s breakfast, my breakfast? Can you bring it out now?”

Liang Xiaohan’s breakfast was mostly Western-style: bread, fried eggs, plus a glass of milk and some traditional Chinese congee with preserved egg and lean pork. Liang Xiaohan was slowly sipping her congee when she heard Hao Jian’s question, then calmly lifted her head to look at him.

Then she said, “What breakfast of yours?”

Hao Jian looked utterly shocked and asked, “I took care of you all night last night. Didn’t you make me breakfast?”

Upon hearing this, Liang Xiaohan’s expression suddenly became clear, and she said, “I usually live here alone. My parents don’t come here, and I don’t have friends over either, so I always prepare just enough for one, including breakfast. I insist on fresh ingredients, buying them daily. But I’ve been a bit busy these past two days, so I didn’t buy anything. Today there’s only enough for one person, so I didn’t prepare yours.”

With a face full of disbelief, Hao Jian thought, what do you mean by ‘not enough ingredients’? You just didn’t want to prepare it, right? Why make up such a fancy excuse? Suddenly, he felt a chill in his heart; after all, he had saved her, safely brought her back when she was about to faint from her fever and stayed the night out of concern that her fever might not go down.

But today, she didn’t even make breakfast for him. This… really felt like a cold blow. If she didn’t want to do it, just say so. If she wanted to, she could have easily gone out to buy some ingredients. Honestly…

Suddenly finding himself speechless, he threw a reproachful glance at Liang Xiaohan.

At that moment, Liang Xiaohan said, “It’s not that I didn’t want to make you breakfast; I was just too lazy to go downstairs and buy ingredients. Besides, instead of waiting around, you might as well go downstairs and eat at a breakfast shop.”

Hao Jian could only respond with a silly smile to Liang Xiaohan’s reply, thinking that women’s hearts could indeed be the most unkind, especially when she could say something like this. Where was the humanity?

While he was thinking this, Liang Xiaohan had already finished her breakfast and wiped her mouth. She said, “All right, I’m off to school. You get ready and leave.”

Hao Jian rolled his eyes, saying, “Hey! I am, after all, your savior and the one who took care of you all night. Do you have to be so cold-hearted and ruthless?”

Liang Xiaohan was washing the dishes when she turned to look at Hao Jian and said, “How about this: let me treat you to breakfast later!”

Hao Jian just rolled his eyes silently and walked over to the fridge. He took out a yogurt and started drinking it quietly. Sometimes, women could indeed be cold-hearted. While drinking the yogurt, he changed his shoes and walked out, waiting for Liang Xiaohan outside.

Liang Xiaohan soon came out in her school uniform. After locking the door, she walked ahead while Hao Jian followed behind her. When they got to the street, Liang Xiaohan turned around and asked Hao Jian, “Do you want to have breakfast? My treat?”

Hao Jian waved his hand repeatedly, saying, “Forget it, no need; I’ve been filled with anger.”

Was Hao Jian so broke that he couldn’t afford breakfast unless someone treated him? Besides, he was already filled with anger because of Liang Xiaohan, what breakfast could he possibly eat?

If it weren’t for what happened yesterday—even though Qiao Ge was still in detention, he would eventually be released—besides, Zhang Hao had suffered such humiliation last night, he surely wouldn’t let Liang Xiaohan off so easily. So within a few days, he was bound to cause trouble for Liang Xiaohan again.

Zhang Hao was a grudging person; Hao Jian could see that.

So in the coming days, Zhang Hao would definitely come back to trouble Liang Xiaohan. Although Liang Xiaohan had indeed taken advantage last night, it was only because Zhang Hao had underestimated her capabilities, leading to his temporary downfall.

However, having been around in Degao for so long, Zhang Hao certainly had more connections and resources than Liang Xiaohan. So if he came looking for trouble again, things would definitely not be the same as last time, and whether Liang Xiaohan could handle it was uncertain.

Although Hao Jian was furious about Liang Xiaohan’s behavior that morning, he still knew where to draw the line. Therefore, he decided to stay and walked beside Liang Xiaohan, without any other plans for the day, committed to ensuring her safety.

Otherwise, if something happened to Liang Xiaohan, explaining it to Liang Yuwei would be difficult indeed.
