Survival Story of a Sword King in a Fantasy World-Chapter 200
Blitzkrieg Y Operation! (1)
Most of the Allendia Army defending the north-eastern border began to march towards Fort Fieldrocks.
Hence, their forces at that stronghold consisted of the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Templar Corps and the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 6th Allendia Corps reached a total of 10,000 troops.
The Kingdom of Kaldris moved accordingly.
The combined power of Kaldris’s nine Corps amounted to a whopping 40,000 troops. Despite the loss of the 3rd, 6th, and 7th corps, they still had an overwhelming advantage.
When they came together, they would surely be a terrible force to reckon with.
However, the Kaldris Army couldn’t unite easily.
They were suffering from nightmares falling from all over the sky.
* * *
On the road stretched out into the middle of the field after the harvest, a long procession walked.
The 11th Corps of the Kaldris Kingdom was marching towards Swindle, where Fort Fieldrocks was located.
Unlike the elites of the Three Continental Powers, the soldiers all looked tired, with sighs leaking from different parts of their cavalcade.
“Whoa…”
“They’re not coming again today, are they?”
“Don’t be such a jerk!”
Their legs felt heavy, and their arms, holding spears, were drooping.
Even though they were soldiers, they were strong individuals over level 40, but it was hard to determine that at first glance.
Meanwhile, the commanders who should be encouraging them were busy staring at the sky.
They also looked no different from the soldiers.
“No way…”
“They won’t fly three times in a row…”
‘No way’ betrayed them again today.
A black dot appeared from the far side of the blue sky, taking but a moment to form a shape.
A silver-maned reptilian head and dark wings unfolded ominously along with its body covered with shiny scales and hideous-looking fangs.
The soldiers burst into a roar.
“It’s back!”
“It’s her!”
“The Wyvern of the Sword King!”
The black shadow quickly passed over the 11th Corps.
Whoosh!
Ryu Han-bin, a huge swordsman, held his Gigant out on the monster’s back.
“Fly low!”
“Got it!”
Effir flew over the soldiers’ heads, lowering her altitude, and his red Blade Aura immediately stretched out, hitting multiple opponents at once.
-Aura Splash!
Boom!
In an instant, the middle of the procession collapsed as they screamed.
The knights roared.
“What the hell! They’re doing that again!”
“Mage Unit! Anti-Air formation!”
“Shoot that bloody flying dragon down!”
The wizards picked up their wands, and various spells were cast in unison.
“Lightning bolt!”
“Flame Strike!”
“Ice Blast!”
“Fireball!”
Dozens of electric strokes, heat waves, cold javelins, and flaming projectiles were fired into the air.
But the result was unfruitful.
“That’s easy!”
Effir folded her wings and dived vertically.
At the same time, she crossed her two front feet and twisted both wings like propellers, then spread them wide to cause a mid-air brake!
Swirl!
Through the tangled air currents, she led the rotation, rose, and finished it by shooting out Force to create propulsion, causing her to fly like a rocket!
Boom!
The magic spells collided with each other instead, causing a big explosion.
Showing elegant aerobatics, Effir exquisitely escaped the niche of the dense bombing.
The expressions of the Mages crumpled.
“What is that…”
“Is she a swallow?”
“She’s not even a small bird. How does that big guy move like that!”
Cherasus, commander of the 11th Corps, felt resentful.
“There can’t be such a Wyvern in the world…”
Its movement should’ve slowed down relative to its size, especially in the sky.
“There must be a limit to the flight skills of such a big monster!”
There was a reason why flying monsters had become unfit for combat in the center of the continent.
If their level was 20, they could fly away from level 20 magic.
However, when it came to the troops of the three continental powers, wizards were at least level 50.
There was no way that they could miss the Wyvern the moment she entered the range of their level 50 magic.
Hence, in later levels, flight-capable monsters were only used for quick movement or emergency escape, not air battles.
Didn’t Alejandro get off of Effir before fighting Han-bin?
When he got back on board, he wasn’t originally going to look back and just run instead, but after being amazed by her flying skills, he decided to fight.
Breaking the common sense of Latna like a cookie, Effir drew lines in the air. Then, she again approached the 11th Corps.
That time, instead of Ryu Han-bin, the red-haired Mage raised his staff.
“Falling downpours of fear…”
He was already almost done with the incantation since he started it while Effir was flying around, allowing him to invoke magic immediately.
“Flame Ray Burst!”
The rear of the 11th Corps was his target.
Hundreds of heat rays beamed down like rain.
“Ahhhhhhhh!”
“Run! Run away!”
Caught up in the shower of fiery pillars, they fled frantically.
Those outside the scope couldn’t do anything.
Aura users or Magic Swordsmen found it hard to fight back with such a gap in height. There was nothing they couldn’t do if they were determined, but it wasn’t very meaningful because their power had been greatly reduced.
It was futile, but they still shouted.
“Fight back! Fight back!”
That time around, not only Mages but also Spiritists came forward.
Each cast a summoning spell.
“Fly according to your will, servant of Yessen!”
“May Preleu’s wings spread in the air!”
All kinds of firebirds and wind-type spiritual beasts flew toward the Wyvern.
The summoned beings opened their mouths in unison, firing flame blasts and wind blades.
Poof! Poof!
That was another reason why flying monsters were rarely used in the center of the continent.
More efficient means already existed.
There was no need for a person to risk their life by riding a low-level flying monster if they could just summon a flight-capable spirit.
In Earth terms, UAVs and drones were much more advanced than airplanes.
Hence, logically speaking, the Wyvern should’ve been shot down by dozens of spiritual beasts, but…
“Hmph!”
Effir let out a Breath.
Boom!
The flames destroyed all the nearby spiritual beasts.
Thanks to her high level, even in Wyvern mode, she could use that much power.
She approached again.
Leon Hart’s turn came. He raised his hands and invoked Prana.
-Unique Spiritual Art: Bloody Rose!
Blood roses bloomed at the forefront of the 11th Corps.
* * *
Han-bin’s party continued to sweep over the 11th Corps. Each time, the 11th Corps could do nothing but suffer.
Just being attacked by something unilaterally out of reach was already fatal.
To make matters worse, they were being attacked by the ruthless Sword King, the Spiritual Boxer, and the Mage of Incineration.
“Damn…”
Cherasus cursed.
‘What the hell is that monster? It can’t be a Wyvern.’
Originally, flying animals could hardly lift themselves up.
Even birds tried to make their bodies as light as possible by squeaking their droppings in the air.
The situation was a little better for the monsters who used their experience to gain additional momentum and flight power, but even so, it wasn’t easy.
The normal Wyvern could only carry a couple of people at best.
Hence, it was common sense for a knight riding such beasts to wear the lightest armor possible. In the case of the Xrad Kingdom’s Dragon Knights, joining the team also meant passing the condition of having a small and light physique.
‘Yet she can fly like that with three people on her back?’
One of them was even a giant, holding a huge Gigant!
‘Just the Sword King alone should’ve been enough to break the Wyvern’s waist.’
No matter how hard he thought about it, he couldn’t understand how that could work.
“No way. There’s no way a level 20 monster can do that…”
Meanwhile, on one side of the procession, a dozen men and women were clicking their tongues.
“The premise was wrong in the first place, wasn’t it?”
“It’s not level 20.”
“But I understand how you feel.”
They were the Aliens of Akhtarun deployed to the 11th Corps.
They confirmed the level of Effir, which approached the search distance every time it swooped down low.
[Race: Wyvern Lv. 75]
“I can’t believe what I’m seeing.”
“Her race is Wyvern, but her level is 75?”
“She’s like a cat with a higher level than a tiger. Does that make sense?”
The commander of the 11th Corps, Cherasus, screamed at the people talking amongst themselves leisurely.
“You guys do something, too! Are you just going to stand around?!”
Unlike the chaotic 11th Corps, most of Akhtarun’s Aliens remained calm.
The power of the aerial attacks wasn’t that high since they kept hitting and falling from a distance.
Everyone was at a high level. Hence, they didn’t feel troubled by the bombing of the King Sword’s party.
Everyone else was shouting, but the Aliens were so calm that Cherasus felt enraged.
Theon, the leader of the Aliens, shrugged his shoulders.
“What do you want us to do? They have to land before we can fight them.”
They weren’t just playing either.
The Mages and the Spiritists responded in their own way, and the Aura users or Magic Swordsmen also tried to help.
“They avoid all straight attacks…”
“They stop all the homing strikes…”
“They are on the latest fighter jet in the flying age of biplanes. What can we do?”
Cherasus didn’t understand the last sentence, but they seemed to have no countermeasures either.
Cherasus was at a loss.
‘Darn it, once they land, we’ll be able to do something…’
Of course, in that case, there would be a terrible nightmare of dealing with two of the Top Four, but they didn’t fight with the rest of the Allendia Army, so there was a better chance of winning for them.
But Cherasus knew all too well that that was a vain hope.
Why would they land?
They were still sweeping across the skies with ease.
The silver-maned Wyvern began to rise again, drawing spirals away from the 11th Corps.
She had beaten enough enemies to allow her to leave without hesitation.
Looking at the fleeing Wyvern, Cherasus roared in anger.
“Ahhhhhh! That fucking monster!”
* * *
On Effir’s back, Han-bin’s group flew straight north.
Ryu Han-bin grinned as he felt the wind brush against him.
Air warfare using a Wyvern, also known as Blitzkrieg Y Operation, was a great success that day.
“It’s so refreshing to be back from a fruitful day’s work!”
Looking at the map, Leon Hart shook his head.
“It’s not over yet.”
“Huh? Where else?”
“The Kaldris 5th Corps is at the Satyrne. We need to tie their feet a little more.”
“I see. How long would our travel time be?”
Leon Hart pointed northwest and informed Effir of the approximate geography.
“Based on my current speed…”
She calculated in her head for a moment, then she replied, “We’ll get there in two hours.”
