Surviving marriage in yandere world-Chapter 49: Demon Queen’s Calm Proposal
Chapter 49: Chapter 49: Demon Queen’s Calm Proposal
There’s something uniquely terrifying about Lucivella when she’s calm.
Most yanderes are easy to read. When they’re giggling and carving your name into a tree with a blood-dipped spoon, you know where you stand. But Lucivella? She smiled at you like a saint. She whispered like moonlight.
And when she invited Rei to dinner with a serene expression and said, "Just us two, Rei," he knew something world-altering was about to happen.
Spoiler alert: he was right.
Location: Unknown Celestial Dimension.
One moment when they were walking down the Duke’s hall, and the next—
FWOOSH.
Stars bloomed under his feet. The sky above became a whirl of galaxies, nebulae twinkling like fireflies. Jazz and soul music played in the air itself, notes weaving between constellations. The temperature was perfect and the mood was suspiciously romantic.
They stood on a glassy platform suspended in what felt like deep space, surrounded by golden candles floating in midair.
Lucivella wore an obsidian-black dress that sparkled like the universe itself. Her long silver hair was pinned up with starlight. Her eyes glowed like twin moons, calm and unreadable.
And he?
He was in a dinner tuxedo. He didn’t remember putting it on.

"Rei," Lucivella said softly, leading him to a floating table made of crystal, "tonight is not for madness. Not for chaos. Just... us."
He sat down very carefully.
The candles shimmered. The table was already set with plates of food too elegant for him to identify—something glazed in stardust, sprinkled with heavenly truffle, and paired with glowing violet wine in tall, fragile glasses.
He stared at his fork. "Am I dreaming?"
Lucivella smiled. "I wanted to show you a piece of my world. Before the wars, before I was the Demon Queen. This place... was once the court of my ancestors."
"And you brought me here?"
"Yes," she said, lifting her glass, "because you are the one man I would destroy kingdoms for and the only one who told me my eyeliner was smudged."
That last part might’ve been him blurting something while half-asleep. Still, point taken.

[Affection Level: MAXED OUT. She Is Beyond Ready.]
He gulped down half his wine in one go. It burned like fire and ambition.
"So..." he cleared his throat. "This is all very... galaxy-chic. What’s the occasion?" ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
Lucivella tilted her head, amused. "Rei. You’re the man whose heartbeat I memorized. The man whose breath I counted each day while you slept. Do I need an occasion to show you everything I am?"
"Um... Yes?"
She chuckled.
Then, with a flick of her fingers, summoned a fire between them—blue, flickering with soul-light. It crackled not with heat, but memories.
A younger Lucivella watching over his bed, placing a cold cloth on his forehead.
Lucivella sitting by his bedside during the war, reading ancient texts aloud just so he wouldn’t be alone.
Lucivella threatening a cardinal with hellfire when he suggested pulling Rei life support rune.
He blinked.
"That’s not just dinner ambiance. That’s my—my life?"
She nodded. "The bond we share was not forged in fire or flirtation. It was built in silence, In waiting, In faith."
The music swelled.
She stood up, walked around the table, and knelt in front of him.
"I do not want to trap you," she said, holding a small black velvet box. "I want you to walk with me freely, into a future neither of us can predict—but that we will own, together."
She opened the box.
Inside, not a ring but a shard of her soul—blue, ethereal, pulsing with a gentle heartbeat.
"I offer you my soul-bond," she whispered. "With it, you will hear my thoughts when they’re loudest and I, yours. You will never be alone again."
And then—
Right at the climax of this impossibly romantic, tender moment...
He sneezed.

Lucivella blinked.
Then smiled like the sun was rising behind her eyes.
"So... you accept," she breathed.
"WAIT NO THAT WAS—"
She leaned forward and pressed her forehead to his. Her soul-shard melted into his chest, and he felt it settle just above his heart like a soft brand. Its warm and familiar.
[SOUL BOND INITIATED.]
[Congratulations. You Are Now Spiritually Engaged to the Demon Queen.]
[Good Luck Surviving the Others.]
He wheezed.
"This is illegal in at least five realms."
"It is sacred in mine," she murmured, cupping my cheek.
The stars dimmed and the fire faded.
They stood together in the silence of deep space.
And he, poor foolish him, whispered, "You’re serious about this."
Lucivella nodded. "I would not offer my soul to a joke, Rei."
Then she kissed his temple.
Then the dimension folded in on itself like origami, and they were back in his room.
One Hour Later...
He sat on his bed, staring at the soul-bond brand glowing faintly on his chest.
Drakana sniffed the air, stormed into Rei room, and shouted, "WHO PUT A DEMON MARK ON MY MAN?!"
Rosette appeared behind her. "Tactical mistake, my Queen. Engaging full escalation protocol."
Seraphina sighed. "I suppose I’ll have to one-up this with a Royal Elf Marriage Rite. Hope you like ritual dances and politically significant hand-holding."
Lilia stared, quiet.
Then whispered, "I can steal his soul back. It’ll just take a shovel, some candles, and twelve live cats."
[SYSTEM UPDATE: Engagement Count: 1. Threat Level: MAXIMUM.]
[New Mission: Survive Next 24 Hours Without Triggering a Second Accidental Proposal.]
Meanwhile...
Lucivella floated above the mansion’s tower, eyes closed, fingers touching the soul brand on her chest that now pulsed in sync with his.
"Step one," she murmured. Her lips curled into a serene, terrifying smile.
"Complete."
From the shadows, a squirrel in a tuxedo blinked twice, took notes, and vanished. The Goddess was watching. And she was eating popcorn.
To be continued...
