The classroom was tense because of the sudden tragic event. Excella's stomach ached, just like Suzuki's before. Even so, Serphiano, the Head Advisor, and Nephira, the Commander of the Thunder-Lance Charge, were calmly watching the lesson from the back of the classroom.

"Hou. That's some strict guidance, isn't it?"

"Professor Leos is from the Beast King Oni Squad. When I met him the other day, he told me how passionate he was about becoming a teacher."

"Indeed. The martial arts faction of the Beast King Oni Squad, huh? That makes sense."

(I-I am not really convinced with that logic!! Being killed just for talking in class? It's no longer a matter of education or training! If you are killed, you will never be able to reflect, reform, or grow, will you?!)

It was nonsensical. There was the possibility that humans and demons have fundamentally different ways of thinking. As Excella was thinking about this, she suddenly noticed Leos was looking at her.

(Eeep–!?)

Excella was panicking, but it seemed that Leos' eyes were not on her and Aina but on Serphiano and Nephira. Serphiano smiled at Leos.

"Professor Leos, Nephira and these slaves want to observe the class. Is it alright?"

"Ye. Not a problem."

Leos replied in a hoarse voice. Even Leos was courteous to Serphiano, the Head Advisor of the Demon Lord's army.

"In that case, I look forward to working with you. I have some other business to attend to. If you'll excuse me."

Serphiano waved his hand to Nephira, saying, "Please give my regards to Suzuki!" and left the classroom.

When Excella looked back at the front, she saw Leos at the teacher's podium, looking over at the black register of names.

"There are twenty students in total, huh? No—— I killed one, so there are nineteen. All right! Then I'll take attendance."

(I-I don't understand what he meant by "All right!"… It looks like he plans to start taking attendance now, isn't he?!)

The fact that the Hero had not yet arrived worried Excella greatly, but Leos quickly read out the first name.

"Ashtar. Is Ashtar here?"

"P-Pre…"

The incident earlier had left the low-ranked soldiers feeling intimidated. Leos approached the black demoness with pointed ears named Ashtar, who had answered in a somewhat stuttering and hushed voice. He then raised his fist in front of the seated Ashtar.

(I-I-It couldn't be…!)

Excella's fears came true. The steel fist of Leos swung down on top of the seated Ashtar's head. With a loud thud, Ashtar's brain matter splattered onto the desk.

"You must stand up first before replying! Die!"

(A-Another one! Another one has been killed!!)

"All right. Let's continue with the attendance call. Second person…"

After that, Leos read out the names as if nothing had happened.

However—

"Your voice is too soft! Die!"

"You have bad posture! Die!"

"Don't drop your pencil on the floor! Die!"

"You, in the back seat! Just in case! Die!"

By the time attendance was over, the bodies of ten slaughtered students were lying in the classroom.

(WTFFFFF!? Before the class had even started, the number of students was cut in half!? What kind of homeroom is this?!!)

The dreadful confirmation of attendance caused Excella to breathe heavily. Meanwhile, Leos looked at the list of names and frowned.

"Suzuki… hmm? Suzuki is not here!?"

Next to Excella, Nephira raised one hand.

"Suzuki is currently in the washroom. Due to a stomach ache."

Leos clicked his tongue in disgust with a "Tch." But then, as if realizing something, he bowed to Nephira and continued the roll call.

(Ugh… Is it going to be safe to be late? Lord Hero…)

After completing the roll call, Leos glared at the students.

"Then, we will now begin the class. All of you! Answer my questions!"

(A-At last! What in the world kind of lesson is this?)

Tension flashed through the classroom as if it were wartime. The classroom was quiet as if it had been doused with cold water, and Leos' deep voice echoed through the room.

"A human child falls on the street and cries.—— So, what do you do? One, Laugh. Two, Eat it. Three, Help…"

Next, Leos pointed to a mantis-like fiend sitting in the seat right in front of him.

"You. Answer with a number."

"I would laugh. So 'One'!"

"I see. Then how about you, the neighboring student?"

"T-'Two'! I'll eat it in a heartbeat!!"

The goblin sitting next to the praying-mantis-like fiend said. Leos silently walked toward them.

(Both answers were cruel! B-But what in the world, is the right answer—— HUH!?)

The heads of the two demons simultaneously flew through the air, splattering fresh blood as Leos swung his thick, club-like arm away with a boom.

"The correct answer is 'Laugh while you eat' or 'Eating while laughing'! Die!"

(No, that was not even an option! And even though you said, "Answer with a number," that wasn't a number! Who would understand? That kind of question!)

Encountering a question-and-answer lecture with a 0.001% correct-response rate and a 200% fatality rate, Excella exclaimed in her heart.

(I-I had no idea that the training would be so absurd and life-threatening! Ah… AAAHHH–!?)

At that moment. The sliding door opened with a clatter of "gararin."

"I apologize, I'm late. I had a bad stomach ache…"

When the Hero appeared, he looked a little gaunt, and he had his hand on his stomach. Excella clenched her fists.

(Lord Hero has finally arrived! Moreover… He is late–!!)

Excella could feel nothing but despair when she thought about the fate of the Hero who had arrived late for the training program.
