Noelle's eyes caught the sight of Uhouguru swinging a log as if it were a light twig. The soldiers, who got hit by the log, were blown away due to the ogre's tremendous physical strength. And to make matters worse------

"B-Bugs!! There are bugs inside my bodyyyyy!!"

The rest of the soldiers were screaming and flailing around at the strange bugs that entered through their ears and nostrils.

(A powerful arm by itself is troublesome, and yet it uses a demonic bug as well? This is a High-Rank Soldier of the Special Strike Force, under the direct control of the Demon Lord's Army, the "Thunder-Lance Charge"...!)

A soldier who has somehow survived crawled over to Noel and told her.

"L-Lady Noelle! Please retreat, at once!"

"Never! I can't face my mother if I let my actions interfere with the mission!"

Noelle tightened her grip on the hilt of her sword and headed for Uhouguru. She breathed quietly as she trotted. Noelle's body soon took on a pale blue aura.

"Tengen manifestation!"

At the same time, she rushed toward Uhouguru, drawing her sword from behind her. Uhouguru tried to use the log to brush off Noelle. The log roared but struck nothing. Noelle, with her superior speed, took Uhouguru's back.

"Divine Blade 'Ice Sting'!"

She thrust her sword into the back of the Uhouguru with determination. Noelle thought it was settled with her attack connecting. However, there was a sound as if iron and steel were clashing, and her sword arm became numb and aching.

(Wh-What the hell?)

Noelle took some distance and looked at Uhouguru's back. Buzzards of fly-like insects had gathered on her back.

(Did it use hardening magical bugs to defend itself?)

The bugs that protected Uhouguru's back now gathered around her thick arms. A moment later, when her right arm seemed stained black by the dense concentration of bugs, Uhouguru lunged at Noelle this time.

"Guh!"

Uhouguru's charge exceeded Noelle's expectations. She had assumed that its speed would be slow because it was an Ogre species with a reputation for monstrous strength. However, before she realized it, Uhouguru was already within striking range. Uhouguru slammed its fist, coated with demonic bugs, into Noelle's stomach.

The sturdy fist shattered her armor with a "Guha", and Noelle rolled on the ground, spewing gastric juice from her mouth.

(I-I have to stand up. It's going to finish me off!)

While she was enduring the pain, Uhouguru was still in the same position as before, looking down at Noelle.

"Get out of Suzukiland."

(Why? How come it isn't coming after me?)

Noelle noticed this and looked around. The soldiers who had been blown away by the logs and the soldiers who had bugs inserted into their bodies were still alive, though they were lying on the ground and moaning.

"Y'all, humans. That's why I won't kill."

(A demon showing mercy to humans? Ridiculous!)

Uhouguru said to Noelle, who was standing up using her sword as a cane.

"It's useless. You, that power, you haven't mastered it. The aura does not extend to the sword."

Noelle ground her teeth. Uhouguru had it exactly right. Her previous "Ice Sting" was just a copy of her mother's technique. As an ordinary person, she was incapable of mastering a complete divine blade.

"You fiend! Are you taunting me?!"

Noelle trembled with anger. What Uhouguru said was true, and it deeply gouged Noelle's heart.

She had worked hard since she was a child. She wielded her sword until she was covered in mud and sweating waterfalls. Even so, her mother's back was always far away.

"Use it in case something comes up."

Her mother's words flashed through her mind. Breathing heavily, Noelle pulled out the vial from her pocket. And then, she popped the cork with her teeth and gulped down the liquid in one gulp.

"Gu...u Guaaaahhhh---!!"

Noelle screamed as her stomach, and then her whole body, felt like it was in flames. The blood vessels in her arms rise to the surface, and the nails on both hands become sharp and pointed.

When the burning sensation in her body subsided, Noelle felt an elevation of mind and body. She swung her sword with one hand. The sword created a wind pressure that she had never felt before.

(I can win! With this!)

"Tengen manifestation!"

Once again, a blue aura enveloped Noelle's body. Surprising even herself, Noelle closed the distance between herself and Uhouguru in an instant. Nevertheless, Uhouguru still reacted. She concentrated her defensive demonic bugs on her chest to block Noelle's sword.

"Gaaaaa---!"

Noelle howled and thrust her sword straight into the protected chest. Noelle's sword, clad in Tengen, did not break but instead shattered Uhouguru demonic bugs. And then...

"y"

The sword pierced straight through Uhouguru's chest.

(Not yet!)

The life force of an ogre is said to be enormous. Noelle drew his sword and repeatedly thrust it again and again into the chest and abdomen of Uhouguru.

"I won... I won!"

Noel sneers while gasping for breath at the sight of Uhouguru lying on the ground. The soldiers, who had wounds all over their bodies, were shivering in awe, realizing they had defeated such a powerful enemy.

Soon, however, they raised their voice toward her.

"L-Lady Noelle...! Your appearance is...!"
