Chapter 372: Chapter 372: Sarcasm

"Who is this, so daring to mess with my people."

Ruby silently curved her lips, leaned against the side of the bed, her voice so sweet it seemed like it could drip water: "Mr. Alden, you have no idea how I got through last night. I didn’t really want to make a fuss, but she went out of her way to make the director scold me. I just can’t bear it, Mr. Alden."

As she spoke, she started sobbing softly.

Mr. Alden, listening on the other end of the phone, felt a twinge of excitement and rubbed his hands together.

"Oh, don’t cry, don’t cry. She’s just a mere actress. I can handle her. Don’t worry, in a few days, she won’t be able to turn things around."

"Really." Ruby no longer pretended, exclaiming with a face full of glee.

"Of course, you should see the position I’m in. But..." Mr. Alden narrowed his eyes and chuckled lewdly twice.

Ruby raised her hand to stretch her body, lying enchantingly on the floor: "Tell me, what do you want? Hmm~"

Mr. Alden hummed with laughter, "As long as you can please me, you can do whatever you want with that woman."

With a seductive glint in her eyes, she giggled twice: "Oh, Mr. Alden, when have I not pleased you? You just need to come over." Then, she let out a flirtatious hum into the phone.

Mr. Alden felt a tingling excitement on his scalp listening: "Good girl, wait for me."

"Hehe, naturally, you should come quickly."

After seducing Mr. Alden a few more times through the phone, Ruby tossed her phone aside, undressed, and walked toward the bathroom.

In the country, it was the middle of the night, and Mr. Alden made another call, telling someone to find a woman and send her over.

Hmph, Moira Young, licking his lips at the thought, if Julian Sinclair has tired of you, then let old Mr. Alden take good care of you.

The next day, after lunch, Mr. Alden called Marcus Mercer.

"Director Mercer, haha, it’s me. Old Alden, how’s it going with the shooting in Vesperia?"

Marcus’s face was indifferent as he responded: "Hmm, it’s alright. Is there something you need, Mr. Alden?"

"Hahaha, just a little favor I need from Director Mercer."

Raising an eyebrow, he wondered what a director like him could do, yet considering the investors behind him, Marcus spoke: "What can I help with?"

"Director Mercer, don’t be so tense, it’s a small matter." After a pause, Mr. Alden continued, "Isn’t your female lead there that Moira Young? I’m easygoing, not asking to replace her, just want you to give her less screen time than Ruby, and I won’t treat you badly." He finished, waiting for Marcus to make a decision.

Marcus scowled. He always knew the industry was filthy, having been around for years, but didn’t expect to face it himself. He laughed coldly: "No need, I already gave her a backdoor before. Mr. Alden, making a movie isn’t child’s play."

Mr. Alden wasn’t annoyed by the response, sensing Marcus was testing the waters, laughed twice: "Director Mercer, don’t be mad. We can talk things out. If you can give Ruby more screen time, I promise to immediately add another 20 million investment into your movie, under my personal name."

"No need, if there’s nothing else, I’ll hang up."

"Marcus, don’t be ungrateful." Mr. Alden snorted coldly.

Marcus sneered: "Mr. Alden, I’ve already gone against my principles once, I won’t do it again. You’d better pave her another path."

Saying so, he hung up directly, frowned, and walked out of the bedroom, annoyed at being threatened.

Mr. Alden, fuming, kicked the coffee table by his feet: "Where’s the coffee, is everyone dead?"

The secretary, hearing the noise, nervously opened the door, collected the broken cup from the floor, and went out to replace it.

After a while, Mr. Alden finished his coffee and dialed Ruby’s number.

"Hello, Mr. Alden, how did it go?"

Listening to the woman’s anxious excitement on the other end, Mr. Alden felt frustrated and snorted: "Your Director Mercer is so ungrateful, I offered investment to reduce Moira Young’s screen time, yet he refused. This person is really ungrateful, humph. Does he think he can last in the entertainment industry with such an unyielding personality, dreaming at best."

Ruby’s eyes shifted, dismissively puckering her lips. Marcus was someone she couldn’t move against; despite being tough, his real talents were undeniable. She even planned on banking on his film to gain some fame.

She laughed enticingly, comforting the caller: "Oh dear, don’t hold a grudge. If the director really won’t comply, it’s fine."

Twisting strands of hair near her neck with her finger: "As long as Moira Young gets what’s coming, that’s enough for me. So, do you promise to help me deal with her?" 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

"Promise, of course, I promise." Holding the phone with both hands, he recalled last night, speaking eagerly, "Sweetheart, give me a little more."

Ruby chuckled: "You naughty man, wanting the rewards before getting the job done."

Even as she said this, she still complied with Mr. Alden’s wishes, murmuring seductively.

Mr. Alden swallowed, wishing he could just climb all over Ruby right then. After a while, panting heavily, he said: "In a couple of days, I’ll come find you, we’ll deal with that woman together."

"You said it."

"Yes, yes, sweetheart, a bit more."

Two days later, Ruby gave her assistant a couple of instructions and drove to the airport to pick up someone.

Upon seeing Mr. Alden, she was promptly embraced, letting the assistant drive while they raised the rear partition, and he grew impatient.

He had been tormented for days by Ruby, only now realizing how skilled she was, previously hidden from him.

Pushing and tussling, she let him savor the sweetness, and soon they reached the hotel arranged by the film crew.

"We’re here." She used some strength to push him away, tidied up her clothes, blushing ignored Mr. Alden’s heavy breathing, opened the car door, turned, and said, "No rush, we have plenty of time."

Mr. Alden chuckled lewdly, smoothed his collar, and followed her into the basement elevator.

"Moira, I’ve prepared the scenes we’ll look at in a couple of days, I’ll come by your room tonight to go over them with you." Joe said while following Moira Young into the elevator.

Noticing her body stiffen slightly, he turned his head. Joe instinctively winced, dear God, who was that beer-bellied man accompanying Ruby, couldn’t be...

Joe puckered his lips, unimpressed, unwilling to greet them.

Moira was even more unwilling to pay any mind, standing distantly in a corner.

Mr. Alden, having just handled his business, hadn’t fully regained his senses, noticing the slender, fair-skinned woman with delicate features and a faint fragrance, desired fervently, his gaze sweeping over her.

"Yo, isn’t this our leading lady, what a coincidence." Ruby, seeing Moira Young enter, smirked, her tone oozing sarcasm.
