Chapter 388: Chapter 388: Trust

"Such a dedicated, beautiful, and friendly young lady, and even someone my Professor Webb likes. When should I become a fan if not now?"

"Yes, yes, the person above is right."

"Fan, fan, fan."

...

Hotel.

"Are you heading back this afternoon?"

"Mm, I asked Director Mercer for leave. Coincidentally, I don’t have any scenes that day, and I want to visit one more place."

Moira Young and Aiden Webb were talking in the hotel lobby.

Aiden Webb stroked her head and said, "Alright, I’ll arrange for someone to pick you up."

"You don’t have to trouble yourself, big bro."

Seeing Aiden Webb give her a faint glance, Moira felt a bit intimidated and raised her hands in surrender: "Alright, alright, whatever you say. Hurry up so you don’t miss the flight." Saying this, she pushed Aiden Webb towards the exit.

Looking helplessly at the person behind him, "I’m leaving."

"Go, go." Watching him get in the car, Moira turned and went back to the hotel.

"Joe, aren’t you heading back first?"

"No, I want to hang around in Vesperia for a bit longer. I’ll leave with you in the afternoon. Lee said I have to accompany you back to Vesperia, or my little life won’t be safe."

Listening to someone on the other end howling while rapidly tapping buttons playing ’King of Glory,’ Moira lifted her eyelids in mild disbelief.

"Alright, I’m heading out. I’ll call you when I get back."

"Alright, alright, ah, I died again."

They waved at each other from a distance, and Moira twitched her lips, watching Joe on the bed stretching his legs. Quickly closing the door so as not to expose any family disgrace.

Once in a cab, Moira told the driver the place, feeling suddenly a bit nervous inside.

She originally didn’t plan to come, but couldn’t let it go in her heart, and now that rumors about her and him were flying everywhere online, she wondered if he cared or if he’d misunderstand her connection with his friend.

Having worried all night without sleep, she decided she had to see him before returning to Vesperia.

"Thank you."

Getting off the car, Moira walked a bit forward and saw a century-old villa with prominent Chinese architecture, feeling a bit uneasy as she looked at the nameplate reading ’Sinclair Residence’, her finger twitched, but she didn’t press the doorbell.

Annoyed, she walked a few steps and remembered Julian Sinclair telling her about a spot on the outer wall where the vegetation was sparse, allowing a clear view inside. She squinted her eyes with joy and slyly sneaked over.

Pulling away some flowers and grass, she stretched to peer inside.

Indeed, Julian didn’t lie; she could really see, wow.

Feeling delighted and hoping for just one glimpse of Julian Sinclair, just one.

She saw Fiona Rhodes walk up elegantly under the porch with a sweet smile, accompanied by the aloof Julian Sinclair.

The excitement in her eyebrows drooped, her mouth curved downward, and she took a deep breath.

Moira Young, pull yourself together; no crying, no hurting.

Thinking this, she lightly knocked on her left chest with her right hand.

Seeing the faint smile on Julian’s face, her eyes welled with tears, which she couldn’t hold back.

She pressed her hand tightly over her mouth, seeing that the man seemed to glance over, crouching down instinctively.

Julian Sinclair, you never smiled at me like that.

Her sob catching in her throat, she pinched her palm, Moira Young, he doesn’t like you anymore, he doesn’t. Look clearly, he already has another woman, capable and beneficial to him.

Didn’t he say you were just a pet?

In her mind, Moira punched away another thought, I’m not a pet!

She fiercely wiped her tears, stood up, walked a couple of steps towards the exit; unaware of the small stone beneath, she suddenly stumbled to the ground.

"Careful."

Moira closed her eyes tight, landing into a warm and strong embrace.

Her lashes fluttered lightly as she opened her eyes, her heart falling into cold and dark water, stifling and painful.

"What are you doing here, thanks."

"I should be asking you that. Why the disappointed face, aren’t you happy to see me, the Young Master?" Adrian Grant said, teasingly, after Moira stood up.

Moira’s heart felt heavy and she didn’t want to pay him any mind.

"What were you looking at just now? Let me have a look too." Saying this, ignoring Moira’s objections, Adrian quickly brushed aside the curtain of flowers and grass, peeking in just in time to see Julian and Fiona Rhodes walking up to the second-floor corridor.

He coughed lightly, turned his head somewhat awkwardly, seeing Moira in a sulk, silently hurting, he walked forward two steps, bent down slightly as if nothing happened: "How about I treat you to coffee, a century-old shop in Vesperia. I’m sure you haven’t been."

Moira cast a cold glance at the man before her: "I’m not going."

"Ah, how about we go shopping for clothes, you’re in luck; this Young Master has never gone clothes shopping with a lady before," Adrian Grant chuckled frivolously.

Ignoring the noisy man by her side, Moira adjusted her backpack and walked forward.

Watching the decisive back of the young woman, Adrian felt a bit anxious, fearing something might happen, and hurriedly followed.

"If that doesn’t work, let me accompany you to the amusement park, the seaside, or how about we go sing?"

Seeing the girl stop, Adrian curled a smile on his lips, gazing at Moira still wearing a cold face.

"Stop following me."

"I can’t do that, since I saw you, I must stick with you."

Moira felt a rush of anger in her heart: "Then tell me, why doesn’t he want me anymore? Is that woman better than me, or does he really just see me as a pet?"

Silently cursing Julian Sinclair a few times, Adrian thought his friend must have lost his mind for finding such a poor excuse, calling the lovely young girl a pet.

With a wry smile: "Of course not, Julian was talking nonsense. Maybe he’s been too busy lately and lost his sight. He, might come back someday, you..."

"Comeback." Moira sneered, "What does he take me for? Leaving whenever he wants, coming back whenever he wants, I’m not a motel."

Adrian’s face sank; he frowned. He was feeling stifled, but some things were not the right time to talk about now. Julian had already sped up his progress; Adrian sighed.

"Moira, you, don’t you know him yet? You have to learn to trust him."

Moira’s tears fell directly; trust him, how could she not? Of all her world, the person she trusted most was her Uncle.

She reached out and held Adrian’s shoulder tightly: "Adrian, I trust him the most, but him, here."

Saying this, she heavily pointed her finger at her chest, "It hurts here, it hurts badly, so much it scares me."

She pulled back her hand, lowered her head, smiled lightly: "In the play, it won’t hurt if removed, but I still want to live well. There are many things I haven’t done, so I’ll give my heart back to him, and it won’t hurt anymore, don’t you think."

Looking up at Adrian’s sunken face, his lips tight, her view blurred by tears, she took a deep breath: "It’s okay, I just need to sort things out myself."

Smiling, she wiped her tears: "I’m leaving now, don’t see me off; I want to return alone, just as I came."
