Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 412: Loneliness
She always thought the rumors about the two of them were just rumors, but this time it seemed real. She glared fiercely at Moira Young and quickly walked to the bedside.
"I heard you got injured, so I came over. All the work abroad has been taken care of. What happened? Where are you hurt? What did the doctor say?"
Moira Young watched Laura Lowe show such concern for Aiden Webb, and her expression changed slightly, but she didn’t say anything.
"It’s nothing, just a minor injury," Aiden Webb said flatly, brushing away Laura Lowe’s hand.
Laura Lowe looked slightly awkward and glanced at Moira Young, who was eating with her head down, paying them no attention.
"Weren’t you going on a trip? How did you get injured then?"
Moira Young took a sip of water, apologetically saying, "It was my fault, I accidentally tripped and caused trouble for him."
Laura Lowe wanted to say something, but Aiden Webb interrupted.
"It’s fine, as long you’re not hurt."
Laura Lowe pressed her lips tightly, staring jealously at Moira Young opposite her.
Moira Young still smiled guiltily at Aiden Webb, then turned to Laura Lowe with a faint look, "Have you eaten? The hospital cafeteria serves pretty decent food; would you like to have some?"
Laura Lowe sneered a little, "No need, I’m not hungry."
With that, the three of them fell silent. The clock ticked on, and the dusk turned to darkness.
"Aiden, are you feeling a bit tired? You should rest early," Laura Lowe said with concern, seeing Aiden Webb’s somewhat weary expression.
"No..." Aiden Webb hadn’t finished speaking before Moira Young, just returned from outside, interrupted.
"Tired, then you should go to bed early, bro."
Saying this, she started to lower the hospital bed.
Looking at Moira Young’s stubborn care, Aiden Webb smiled helplessly and lay down to rest.
When the two saw Aiden Webb fall asleep, Moira Young was about to head to the small lounge, but Laura Lowe grabbed her.
"Come out with me," she said just before walking out the door.
Moira Young followed her out.
"What’s up?" she asked, looking puzzled at Laura Lowe.
Laura Lowe’s face was cold, "The young master treating you this well is already pretty good; don’t have any delusional thoughts about making sly moves."
Moira Young blinked, not understanding Laura Lowe’s intent, feeling a bit embarrassed.
"You must be mistaken. I haven’t done anything. Aiden and I were good friends before, and I later recognized him as my brother. Our relationship has always been very pure."
Laura Lowe curled her lips in a mocking look, "Pure? Moira Young, how pure can people in the entertainment circle really be? You were good friends before; now you’re brother and sister. So what, are you going to get married next?"
Moira Young frowned, "Miss Laura, please speak with some respect."
"Respect? I tell you, don’t dream about clinging to Aiden. He’s just been charmed by you. I will definitely make him see your true colors."
"Miss Laura, I’ll say it again. There’s nothing strange between Aiden and me. If you’ve seen those rumors before, I just want to say your young master is also in the entertainment industry. Don’t you know what’s true or false?"
Laura Lowe only thought Moira Young’s methods were really impressive, angrily saying, "Of course I know, but I don’t know what your intentions are. I tell you, you’d better stay away from our young master."
"Sorry, that’s impossible," Moira Young said resolutely.
Feeling a bit impatient, Moira couldn’t understand what Laura Lowe was doing. She had explained so clearly already, even if she didn’t believe her, wouldn’t Aiden believe her?
From the first meeting, Laura Lowe had been at odds with her. Her thinking was astonishing.
Laura Lowe stepped forward a few steps with a grim face, "Don’t be shameless."
Moira Young looked coldly at the woman in front of her, saying nothing, and stepped back, intending to leave.
"I told you not to refuse a toast only to be forced to drink it." With that, Laura Lowe grabbed Moira Young’s arm and raised her other hand to slap her face.
Moira Young reflexively tilted her head back, and in just one or two seconds, she found herself in the arms of someone.
"What are you doing?"
A stern male voice rang out in the corridor, and Laura Lowe’s wrist was held tightly by someone.
"Heath Sterling, why are you here?"
Heath Sterling lowered his head to glance at Moira Young in his arms, said nothing, and coldly stared at Laura Lowe, whose face was slightly flushed.
Laura Lowe bit her lip, "Let go, it hurts."
"Tch." Heath Sterling squinted, released her wrist, "Lucky I arrived in time."
He said this and then turned his head to look Moira Young carefully in the face, thankfully finding no injuries.
Moira Young patted Heath Sterling’s arm and stepped out of his embrace, looking at Laura Lowe across from her.
"Miss Laura, what exactly are you trying to do? Do you know I can report you for assault?" 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Laura Lowe clutched her somewhat reddened wrist, expressionless as she looked at Moira Young and Heath Sterling beside her.
"Moira Young, since you have a man with you already, stop bothering our young master. He’s out of your league."
Moira Young really didn’t know what to say. She caught Heath Sterling’s glance after hearing this line, making her even more speechless.
"Miss Laura, I won’t hold that slap against you for now, but let me say one last time: Aiden is my brother and will always be my brother, even though it’s not by blood. I treat him like my own brother. Please don’t speak ill or slander either of us, or I can sue you for defamation!"
This left Laura Lowe speechless. Heath Sterling sneered at her and pulled Moira Young to the side.
"What are you doing here? Are you not feeling well?"
Moira Young shook her head, "Not me, it’s Aiden. His arm got injured."
Heath Sterling raised his eyebrows, "Then why are you here?"
"I’m taking care of him. His assistant’s not around, and since he got hurt because of me, I have to take care of him." Moira Young was a bit speechless, then continued, "Why are you here though?"
"A friend is sick, so I’m visiting." Heath Sterling shrugged, noticing Laura Lowe still staring at Moira Young, and frowned slightly, "Are you planning to stay here all the time? I reckon that woman’s got something wrong in her head. You should find someone else to look after Aiden and stop doing it yourself."
"No way." Moira Young glanced at Laura Lowe and nonchalantly said, "Don’t worry about her. I have to personally look after my brother. I won’t be at ease until he’s fully recovered."
Heath Sterling sighed, "Just be smart and don’t let anyone bully you. Call me if anything happens, anytime."
"Sure, no problem." Moira Young smiled and patted Heath Sterling on the shoulder.
"I’ll be leaving then."
"Alright, take care on your way."
Moira Young turned and waved to Heath Sterling, urging him, watching until he disappeared around the corner before stopping.
She turned and saw that Laura Lowe was gone, opened the hospital room door gently and saw no one, shook her head helplessly, and stepped into the room.
Heath Sterling leaned against the corner wall with a bitter face. It really wasn’t his turn, was it?
It used to be Julian Sinclair, and now it’s Aiden Webb. Did Heath Sterling really have no chance?
He let out a faint snicker, got up, and left, walking away lonely and alone.
