Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 415: Apology
Aiden Webb looked at the inexplicably excited Moira Young, the corners of his lips curving into a barely noticeable faint smile.
"To your house?"
"Of course, unless you’re planning to go back to your own place. How could your assistant, a rough big guy, take good care of you? Besides, it’s because of me, so you definitely need to come to my place. Only after I’ve taken good care of you can I let you go," Moira said somewhat domineeringly.
"Okay, whatever you say." Aiden ruffled the woman’s hair, his face full of indulgence.
The two packed up, and the driver came over with their things. The three of them headed to Moira Young’s house together.
"Thank you, Uncle Driver."
Moira thanked him and then closed the door.
"You have your luggage and all, so no need to make Uncle go back for them," Moira said as she took Aiden’s luggage to the guest room.
"Bro, I’ll help you change the sheets and covers later," she turned and looked at Aiden trailing behind her, looking helpless. "Bro, don’t follow me. Go to the small sofa, read a book, have some tea or coffee. Oh, let me see if there’s any food at home. I don’t know if Joe ate everything. If not, we’ll have to buy more."
As she spoke, she pushed Aiden into the small living room and walked to the fridge.
"Great! Joe is still considerate, knowing I wasn’t coming, and left some groceries at home. When she comes back, she must be rewarded."
Aiden sat on the sofa, listening to Moira’s chatter and watching her lively self run from the kitchen to the bedroom. He felt completely relaxed, the smile on his face growing wider.
Moira came out, carrying a bed cover, and caught a glimpse of him, exclaiming in surprise, "Bro, you smiled! Wow, so handsome, ah, ah, ah." Saying this, she ran straight to Aiden.
Aiden immediately donned a blank face, looking seriously at Moira, who continued staring at him, his earlobes quietly flushed red.
Moira noticed and laughed uncontrollably, covering her mouth and giggling.
"Um, I didn’t see anything—I’m not laughing, really." Even though she said this, the laughter in her eyes was evident.
Teasingly, Aiden placed a palm on Moira’s head, gently pushing her back. "Get to work."
Moira leaned back slightly, stuck out her tongue, and stood up, whispering, "Hmm, just saw that your ears turned red."
After saying this, she quickly ran to the bathroom and laughed heartily with the door closed.
Aiden froze for a moment, touched his earlobes, and couldn’t help but let out a chuckle despite his normally stoic expression.
Outside the window, a ray of sunlight quietly streamed in, listening to the laughter and joy inside the house.
Meanwhile, at a newspaper office.
"Nice, where did you get the scoop?" The person sitting in the boss’s chair smiled and looked at the photos in hand, speaking to the person with a camera opposite.
The person remained silent for a moment before saying, "Should we publish it?"
"Of course, why wouldn’t we? Publish it now. The copy..." Stroking his chin, he couldn’t think of anything for a while.
"I’ve already thought of the copy."
"Then why didn’t you say so earlier? What are you waiting for? Go now, this month’s bonus is secured," he said, patting the person on the shoulder.
The person nodded, turned towards the door, and looked at the photo in hand, a faint smile tugging at their lips.
By noon, Aiden taught Moira how to make simple noodles. After eating, they took a nap.
At this time, it’s the leisure time for many office workers. The news broken by a major social media influencer and a newspaper has become the talk of the town.
"Wow, so explosive in the middle of the day," a person commented.
"Are these two finally confirmed as a couple?" someone replied.
"No way, that’s my Aiden Webb."
Looking at the news and pictures of Aiden Webb living with Moira Young circulating online, many people lamented loudly and cursed incessantly.
"Who said they were fake before? Come out, you’re asking for it."
"I feel like crying; Aiden Webb belongs only to me."
"Who on earth is this washed-up C-list woman."
"Exactly, I used to think she was kind when she came out to explain. Now she turns around and clings to an international superstar, a three-time film emperor. Tut-tut, such skills."
"Recently, isn’t the gossip about this woman too much? A collection of Moira Young’s gossip [Photo]."
"Hey, our Moira hasn’t had any events lately. Can everyone stop spreading rumors? Even if they were photographed together, so what? What if they’re just friends?" Moira Young’s fans stood up to clarify for their idol.
"Hehe, to the one above, do you even believe what you’re saying?"
"Why not believe it? Even if they’re together, so what? Isn’t Moira Young a match for Aiden Webb? So what if he’s a film emperor?"
This statement sparked the anger of Aiden’s fans. Many girlfriend fans and CP fans had long been annoyed by the rumors about Aiden and Moira being a couple. For the sake of not causing trouble for Aiden, they’ve been suppressing their discontent, and now they have an outlet.
"What’s the big deal? Look in the mirror; you’re not even worthy of carrying Aiden’s shoes."
"Just look at what Moira Young looks like. She’s the ugliest among the female artists Aiden has worked with."
"Aiden belongs only to us; how can Moira Young deserve him? Which woman in the entertainment industry dares to say she’s worthy of Aiden Webb?"
"Exactly."
"Oh, damn, you brain-dead fans, go away."
...
"Bzz, bzz, bzz." On the table, the phone vibrated.
Aiden half-opened his eyes, reaching his arm out to grab the phone.
"Hello."
"Mr. Webb, something happened. Someone spotted you entering Miss Young’s house, and now the internet is blowing up," the assistant quickly said.
Aiden immediately sat up, frowning slightly. "What’s going on?"
"It’s unclear how Miss Young’s address got exposed. The most likely scenario is someone spotted you at the hospital."
"Okay, I got it."
"When should we release a statement?" The assistant followed up.
Aiden squinted, about to say something when the door suddenly knocked.
"No rush, I’ll talk to Moira first."
He hung up the phone and got up to open the door.
Moira stood there holding her phone, looking anxiously at Aiden.
"Bro, I’m sorry. I don’t know how this happened. I... I caused you trouble again."
Pressing Moira’s head gently, Aiden reassured her, "It’s fine, we’ll just clear up the misunderstanding. Don’t worry about what people online are saying."
"Bro, I’m sor..."
Aiden lightly pinched Moira’s cheeks. "I’m your brother, no need to say sorry between siblings. It’s a brother’s duty to help solve problems. Besides, this isn’t just your issue."
Seeing Moira calm down a bit, he told her to go wash up, and they’d meet in the living room later.
Moira went back to her room, feeling like she’s been really unlucky lately. Ever since returning to the country, she hadn’t had a moment of peace, and whoever’s with her seems to get affected.
What’s going on? Since returning, she’s been chased by all sorts of negative news. Even when she’s been sidelined, she’s still pushed to the forefront of gossip—it’s just strange.
Feeling dejected, she lay under the covers, looked at her phone, tossed and turned a bit, then got up to wash up and get ready.
