Chapter 424: Chapter 424: Agony

"Louis, here’s your noodles."

At the guard post, the delivery guy knocked on the window, waking up the young man who was dozing off.

Louis twitched and woke up, rubbing his eyes. He drowsily glanced at the monitor across from him and saw a pair of young woman’s legs pass by one of the cameras.

Unable to believe it, thinking he was seeing things, Louis rubbed his eyes hard, leaned in, and looked at the other surveillance monitors, finding everything normal. He scratched his head, stood up, and turned around to shout, "Coming, coming, don’t rush."

At that moment, the monitor flickered, and on one screen, a woman dragged the seemingly unconscious Moira Young into a hallway.

The midday winter sun was scorching and bright.

"Ah, it’s freezing!" Louis grabbed the takeout, hopping in, then looked at the monitor again. He took out his phone, set up the funny videos he had downloaded last night, opened the lunch box, and started eating with satisfaction. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

"Hahaha, this guy is really damn funny."

The steps in the stairwell scraped against Moira Young’s skin, layer by layer, probably breaking the skin in places. The pain woke Moira Young from her suffocation, gasping.

Her eyes fluttered open, and she struggled, realizing her arms were tied behind her. Just as she was about to get up, she felt overshadowed, and was suddenly slapped hard, the force knocking her sideways onto the ground. Rough stones slid across her fair face, leaving one or two bloody scratches.

"Hahaha, great, finally someone to keep me company."

Moira Young slightly raised her head. Sunlight shone on the woman in front of her, making her face hard to see. She could only hear her crazy, somewhat chilling words.

"I want you filthy people to bury me. I want you all dead, all dead, hahaha, wuuu wuuu wuuu..."

Moira Young forced herself to calm down, biting her lip. "Julie."

The call stopped the woman’s madness.

"Oh?" Julie said, squatting down, holding Moira Young’s chin with one hand, her eyes glowing ominously as she leaned in. "You still remember me, huh, not sure whether to be glad or call you stupid."

Sitting down, then patting Moira Young’s face, she gently caressed it, eyes full of pity, and said, "Does it hurt?"

Suddenly, her gaze shifted, her palm raised, and she slapped down hard.

"Does that hurt? What’s that? Have you truly tasted pain, Moira Young?" With that, she fiercely squeezed Moira Young’s throat, her eyes crazed and red at the corners, her entire person maniacally shouting, "Why? Why is your life so good? Why am I the one to suffer those humiliations? Why do people bully me? Unfair! Unfair! Die, all of you, die!"

Letting go of Moira Young’s throat, she dragged her towards the edge of the rooftop.

"Sis, have you heard anything? Why does it feel like someone’s fighting?"

Downstairs, a pair of sisters paused. One turned her head, looking around, while the other heard, speechless, saying while turning, "You must be hallucinating; there’s no one fighting here." Then unintentionally looked up, "Oh my God!"

Her companion quickly steadied her while she almost fell backward, then looked up, her face losing all color in shock.

At the edge of the rooftop, Moira Young’s head was dangling off the side, while in front of her, Julie was maniacally laughing.

"Call the police... hurry, call the police."

Trembling all over with fear, the two fell onto the ground, looking towards the rooftop, trying to steady themselves. One girl turned and climbed up.

"You watch, aren’t you studying psychology? Think of something, I’ll find the guard and call the police."

The other girl quickly nodded, took a deep breath, recalling what she’d read and been taught by her teacher, stood up: "Hey, what are you doing?"

The girl who was running almost stumbled and fell.

On the rooftop, amidst the intense struggle—or rather, Julie’s solo fight—she suddenly heard the shout, frowned, relaxed her grip, and leaned out to look down. Moira Young seized the chance to slide down, clutching her neck, coughing profusely.

"Can’t you see? Murder, hahaha."

The girl trembled, keeping her voice steady: "Sister, could you not joke around? Are you playing some adventure game?"

Julie believed the other didn’t trust her, shouted, "I’m not joking, I’m serious. Do you know the name of the person I’m going to kill? Her name’s Moira Young, hahaha, she’s a celebrity." Ignoring Moira Young’s struggle, she dragged her up, "Come, let me show you her properly. Soon, there’ll be no trace of her in the world, and her fans will be devastated."

She coldly laughed, saying, "By the way, little girl, are you a fan of hers?"

Meanwhile, Adrian Grant and Julian Sinclair were searching for Moira Young’s whereabouts. Adrian had gone back, but was ridiculed by Julian Sinclair, so they came back out.

"Hey, when you find her, don’t mess things up again," Adrian Grant said lazily, walking beside Julian Sinclair.

Julian Sinclair frowned; moments ago, he felt a strange unease in his heart, not responding, continuing to walk forward.

"I say you’re just bringing it upon yourself, not thinking things through before coming. Now you want me to..." Adrian Grant was complaining when Julian Sinclair abruptly stopped, and a sharp female voice came from afar, "...Moira Young..."

The two exchanged glances and quickly turned, running towards the direction of the voice, encountering the other girl bringing the guard along.

A group of people ran over, seeing the girl downstairs calmly talking to the person on the rooftop.

Looking at Moira Young, who was held hostage, coughing incessantly, Julian Sinclair’s heart sank, his expression darkening, moving quickly towards the staircase.

Adrian Grant provided cover, then stood directly beside the girl downstairs.

"You’re not? Haha, that’s a pity." With a leisurely sigh, Julie turned to Moira Young, saying, "You’re not that impressive either."

"But why are you so fortunate? Why do I have to endure those pains?" Tears freely flowed from Julie’s eyes, the wind softly howling against the window sill, the slight coughing gradually stopped, leaving only the sound of mournful crying.

Moira Young’s teeth trembled a bit as she looked at the now completely different Julie before her, softly speaking, "I... I’m not fortunate."

The crying turned into a cold sneer, surrounded by disdain. Without waiting for Julie to speak, Moira Young continued, "Not fortunate at all. My biological parents abandoned me when I was young, and my foster mother passed away early. Do you really think I’m lucky?"

Julie sneered: "You have Julian Sinclair and Aiden Webb."

Moira Young self-mockingly curled her lip, staring blankly at the sky, "You say I haven’t tasted pain, but have you ever tasted the pain of being utterly abandoned? From the day we met, I was nothing but a pet in his eyes. Haha, do you know what that feels like? Even the pain of suicide can’t cover it. I... loved so deeply, yet was hurt so terribly. Pain, how could I not have tasted it?" A moment later, her gaze cooled and landed on Julie.
