Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 446: Eerie and Strange
"Haha, it’s nothing. I can take it to her later. Fortunately, you weren’t seriously hurt, otherwise I would feel guilty."
Mrs. Winslow waved her hand, "It’s nothing, don’t worry about it. I should thank you. It’s been a long time since I’ve met such sincere kids. Oh, and those two boys who took me here quietly left without a word. The young girl and I were really surprised. But let’s be honest, the students at your school are truly remarkable—not only in academics but in character too. It’s really worthy of being a top university in the country."
This compliment went straight to the principal’s heart. As the head of the school, there’s nothing better than hearing praise for one’s students who bring glory to the school.
"Wherever does that come from, madam? They’re only doing what they should. By the way, Mrs. Winslow, is there something you need today?"
Mrs. Winslow clapped her hands, "Oh my, look at me getting all excited and forgetting why I came here." After a pause, she continued, "I came to meet a student—she’s from your school."
"A student?" The principal furrowed his brow slightly.
"Yes, her name is Moira Young."
"Moira Young." The principal echoed in slight surprise, looking at Mrs. Winslow’s puzzled expression across from him and continued in confusion, "The student who just brought you here was Moira Young."
Hearing this, Mrs. Winslow was dumbfounded and couldn’t believe it. She absentmindedly followed the principal’s hand gesture to look at the door, and after a long pause, said, "This... this can’t be."
The principal shook his head, "She was wearing a mask, so you didn’t recognize her. But I have sharp eyes. Let me call her in, and you’ll see." Saying this, he stood up and made a phone call, leaving Mrs. Winslow in a daze.
Moira Young had just sat down for a short while when she heard the announcement calling her back to the principal’s office. She looked up at the lecturer, full of resignation.
The teacher on the podium waved his hand, also quite helpless.
"Thank you, teacher, I’ll be right back," Moira Young coughed twice, quickly stood up, and left.
She had just been at the principal’s office, so why didn’t he mention anything then? Thinking of this, Moira Young was puzzled and frowned all the way there.
A few minutes later, she stood at the door of the principal’s office, took a deep breath.
"Principal, did you need me for something?" she asked, knocked on the door, and stood obediently in front of the principal.
The principal said, "Take off your mask first." Although puzzled, Moira Young obediently removed her mask. Then the principal said, "See, now do you believe it?"
The principal’s words left both of them momentarily stunned, but Moira Young reacted quickly and looked up at the principal.
"Principal, what’s going on? Is there something you need from me?"
The principal waved his hand, "Mrs. Winslow is looking for you." Both of them turned their faces towards Mrs. Winslow.
"Ahem," said Mrs. Winslow, clearing her throat after coming back to her senses. "Young lady, so you are Moira Young."
Moira Young nodded and smiled, "Do you recognize me, auntie? What can I do for you?"
Feeling a bit awkward, Mrs. Winslow said to the principal, "Since she’s here, let’s leave first."
"Leaving so soon? Not staying a while longer?" The principal courteously replied.
Mrs. Winslow stood up, and Moira Young reached out to help. "No, no, I just needed to talk to the young lady about something today." With these few words, they reached the door and waved to the principal before leaving.
At the elevator, as if remembering something, Moira Young asked Mrs. Winslow to wait for a moment, and she turned and ran back into the principal’s office.
"Principal."
"Oh, Moira Young, why did you come back?"
Through her mask, Moira Young squinted her eyes, "Could you please tell my current teacher that I might miss the rest of the class and ask him not to deduct my points?"
The principal smiled and said, "Don’t worry. I will explain it to the teacher for you."
"Thank you, Principal."
With that, Moira Young left.
The principal looked at Moira Young’s departing figure with curiosity. This girl’s background is not simple. President Sinclair of the Sinclair Group always sends her to school. In fact, just this morning, he happened to see President Sinclair bring her to school. And now Mrs. Winslow is looking for her. As a mere principal, how dare he deduct her points?
Thinking of this, the principal felt a chill down his back and quickly called the teacher.
In the elevator, the two were silent for a while, then Moira Young spoke: "Auntie, how about going to the school’s café? It might not match the five-star ones outside, but it’s still quite decent."
Mrs. Winslow, observing Moira Young, nodded upon hearing this.
She could hardly believe that this girl was Moira Young.
After a while, the two entered the café, found a relatively quiet spot, and sat down.
"Would you like something to drink, auntie?"
Mrs. Winslow said, "I’d like a black coffee," needing the bitterness to calm herself.
Moira Young nodded and told the waiter, "One black coffee and one Blue Mountain."
After ordering, the two lapsed into silence for a few more minutes. Seeing Mrs. Winslow staring at her, Moira Young felt a bit embarrassed and started, "Auntie, why are you looking for me? We don’t know each other, and as far as I know, there’s nothing between us."
Mrs. Winslow absentmindedly rubbed her right hand and said, "I just wanted to know something. I heard you were caught up in rumors with many male celebrities and even maliciously suppressed colleagues?"
Moira Young was a bit surprised. These were old issues. How did this lady know about them? Following the principle that "all rumors should be clarified," Moira Young explained.
After listening, Mrs. Winslow’s face turned a bit red, feeling somewhat like an impulsive youngster, blindly believing everything online and on the surface. Remembering how Moira Young helped her today, the dislike she felt for Moira quietly faded away.
"Here’s your black coffee and Blue Mountain. And as part of our new promotion, we have a mango cheesecake for you." The waiter placed a tray on the table.
Moira Young’s eyes lit up and she looked up to say thanks.
She took off her mask, sipped the hot cocoa, and stared straight at the little cake on the table. Observing this, Mrs. Winslow smiled, "Go ahead, I don’t like sweets."
Feeling a bit shy that her gluttony had been discovered, Moira Young thanked her when Mrs. Winslow pushed the cake toward her, and she began to eat without holding back.
"Wow, this is delicious. I’ve never tried this flavor from them before, always wanted to."
"Have as much as you like, order more if it’s not enough."
Moira Young shook her head, "No, it’s enough, auntie." She ate another piece, took a sip of coffee, looked up at the person across the table, and said, "By the way, auntie, why did you ask me about these things? These are long past, and they’re just rumors spread by the press. They’re not true. The entertainment industry is turbulent and can’t be trusted."
