System Discord-Chapter 47: SysDi : Recovering 2

"Back." Evan says.

The panels goes back to his status. Evan looks at his status, wondering which to explore next.

His eyes goes through the entire thing, re-reading, until it stops onto Map.

"Map tab." He says.

Fast Travel: Available

List of available locations:

- Evan’s childhood home

- ???

- Cave of Underwater Lake of Boon

- ???

The map tab only had the fast travel information included plus another panel at the side, showing Evan’s current location as a blue dot. There’s legend below the map itself.

They are separated by shapes and colors. Areas with Red are for areas Evan have not entered before or he does not any way to access at all. And areas with Green are for those he had already explored.

Meanwhile, he can place a hollow circle for locations he wants to manually take note for himself. And diamond for main interest locations that his ability considers as such.

There are others too. Evan stared at the moving dots on the panel while the surrounding area he is currently seeing is in the shade of green, which had mean ’explored’.

"So, I’m the blue dot, it looks like." He says to himself, nodding to himself.

Reading even more on the legends. Evan found out that aside from being the blue opaque dot signaling as him and his current location on the map, anything living that is hostile is a red opaque dot. The rest of non-hostile creature that would appear are all just moving yellow opaque dots.

Most interesting of all, allies are violet or purple opaque dots. And in Evan’s location, he can see a blue opaque dot indication him, and another opaque dot, violet, pretty much moving along with him.

That would mean that if Evan has the map open, he can tell in real time if he being surrounded by anyone or anything, as well as if it is a known ally of his or an enemy.

Still, he can’t help but notice that there is a violet opaque dot that is following his around. Could it be Iva?

"Iva?" Evan asked, voice a little too hopeful for his liking. "You there?"

Silence, before a little groan inside his head can be heard. ’Ow... Evan?’

"Iva!" Evan breathed a sigh of relief. "What happened to you? You just disappeared!"

’No thanks to the guy who tried using the Simulation Zone without asking me before doing so!’ There is irritation in its voice.

Evan felt a little guilty. "Hey, at least I lived and I learned?"

Iva sighs in his mind. ’Not for long if you keep doing things recklessly without asking.’

"How would I know that would happen? It never happened before. Besides, I was able to use the Simulation Zone on the other corridors. What is special with that that dark-"

’Evan.’ Iva cuts him off in the middle of his sentence. ’Did you forget what the words in the smooth stone had said? Or what the left corridors were called from the first main branching paths?’

He shook his head. "No. I think it’s a corridor of perseverance... Uh- intelligence and will something..."

’Yeah! But the first part is that it is the Confusing Corridors. Which means it is meant to confuse you on whether you can use your abilities or not. Better yet, I would’ve been with you if you didn’t use it.’

Right, confusing corridors. Evan forgot that part.

’Anyway, you got penalties for that, obviously. I got that too. It was lights out for me after that.’ Iva added. ’It was like I got by a wall and passed out.’

Evan raised an eyebrow at the analogy, but didn’t ask. They had already talked about Evan not going to even attempt to guess what Iva is. It’ll push him in danger, or something along those lines.

"Glad to have you back then." Evan says, admitting that he did miss Iva. "Help me out here. I’m exploring the other tabs I had unlocked before heading to bed."

Iva hums. ’Oh you got maps?’ A little whispering before a sharp gasp echoes. ’You got fast travel?! That’s really good!’

"I know it is but is it really that good that you have to react that way?"

’Yes! Normally, waking around is the best way to travel, it still is for you. But it is pretty much a free teleportation, but for long distances that you have been before. Non-watch magic users would kill to have it.’

Evan gulps after Iva said that. If magical users could really kill for that, he should probably keep that he can do that to himself.

Still, at least he already knows that the fast travel and the map will be very helpful. Now, he wonders if there is a way to keep the map up, or does he need to summon the map tab every time?

"Map tab stay?" He says, trying to see if that would work.

Nothing seems to have changed, making Evan hum. "Do you have any ideas on how I can make the map stay on at the side?"

’Not really, no. I know three watch users with maps and they couldn’t keep them on.’ Iva replied. ’Sorry can’t help much with that.’

Evan shrugs. He hoped that the words he said earlier would help at least. "Back." He says, so he can go back to the main panel.

All panels closed and his main status panel shows up.

Evan scratched the back of his head. "I don’t have any ideas. But, I can try again tomorrow." He paused before grinning. "Summon Pet Iva."

A faint light appears on the table before Iva the slime appears. "What?! Why am I summoned again!?"

"Because I’ve got nothing else to do other than prepare for dinner. Have you tried eating before?"

Iva bounced from the table to his shoulder. "No, I haven’t. I don’t think I need to. But you people seem to like eating. It’s a need right?"

Evan nods his head. "I’ll go prepare a small dinner. After that, we can eat. I had been in that stone hill cave for three days without me noticing."

Iva didn’t reply and just settles on Evan’s shoulder as he began to prepare food. It seems to be curious more than anything about what he was doing. Evan just hums and soon enough, they were both eating food.
