System's POV-Chapter 1492: Ride Of The Valkyries [Part 2]
"Thirteen..." Hildr approached the teenage boy and cupped his face. "What happened?"
With a glance, she instantly realized that her Master had lost almost all of his five senses, and anger surged in her heart. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
"I made a choice," Thirteen replied. "And this is the price. Don’t worry, Hildr. I’m fine."
The Valkyrie wanted to say that he wasn’t fine.
But she also understood her Master’s logic. As long as he could still function properly, he would unhesitatingly sacrifice even his arm to achieve his goals.
"Sisters, let’s go," one of the Valkyries, who goes by the name, Mist, stated. "We’ll do our best, so Thirteen won’t have to fight."
Everyone nodded in agreement and immediately joined the battle, killing everything in their path.
But even with their addition, the scale of the war still tipped to the Infernals, which had hundreds of Demigods within their army.
Thirteen knew this very well, but he wasn’t worried.
Reaching his hand to the heavens, the young man called out to a friend. Someone who would not abandon him even if he were to charge to hell alone.
A streak of light plunged from the sky like a shooting star. A moment later, a golden staff appeared in the young man’s grip.
He twirled it around his body a few times before taking a fighting pose. His gaze locked on to one of the Warlords of the Infernal Army.
The warlord whom Zaphiel had made a deal with, Arkael.
Without even thinking about the sea of enemies in front of him, Thirteen charged forward fearlessly.
The Infernals, as well as a few Demigods, swarmed in his direction. Everyone knew the human mortal was the greatest threat in the battlefield. As long as he died, victory was theirs for the taking.
But Zion wasn’t that easy to kill.
"Break all walls that stand before me!" Thirteen thrust his staff forward. "Ruyi Jingu Bang!"
The staff increased its size and extended forward, obliterating everything in its path.
The Monkey King had lent his weapon to his best friend despite knowing that doing so would land him a punishment later. Sun Wukong simply didn’t care. When Thirteen needed his help, he would help without fail!
A gigantic staff most were seeing for the first time appeared on the battlefield.
It was the size of a mountain, yet Thirteen wielded it like it only weighed as much as a tree branch.
With a single sweep of his staff, countless Infernals exploded in a mist of blood. The Demigods tried to stop him, but the System of Cannon Fodders with all restrictions lifted was a different kind of beast.
His body was now capable of high-speed calculations. It didn’t matter what the enemy did. Thirteen would simultaneously run dozens of simulations for every micro-movement they made, accurately predicting what was next.
Thirteen struggled to advance with dozens of Demigods blocking him together. They couldn’t hurt him. But their coordinated attacks, along with their powerful weapons and artifacts, were troublesome to deal with.
Even so, the System of Cannon Fodders and Ruyi Jingu Bang made an incredible combination. Since he couldn’t fight them all at once, he carefully calculated their movements, aiming to eliminate his opponents one by one.
At first, the Demigods thought they finally had the upper hand since Thirteen went on full-defense.
But every time he unleashed his devastating attack, one of the Demigods would be sent flying, leaving blood trailing in his wake. Thirteen’s follow up attacks were deadly, taking one Demigod at a time.
When the enemies realized what was happening, they quickly changed their strategy.
Arkael personally made a move and attacked Zion without holding back. The clash between them created a shock wave that blew away the Infernals and Azothralls close to their vicinity.
"Let’s see what you got, boy," Arkael sneered. "I’ve been waiting for this moment ever since you ruined my plans and killed my commanders."
"You want to see what I got?" Thirteen sneered. "That will depend if you have what it takes to see it."
The two exchanged a few clashes, and each time, Thirteen was blown away by the collision.
Arkael laughed out loud, thinking the so-called scariest person in the battlefield was just like any other ordinary, helpless mortal when facing off against a Pseudo-God.
"What happened to your earlier bravado, huh?!" Arkael swung his sword, meeting Ruyi Jingu Bang’s attack head on. "Cat got your tongue?"
The Warlord was a giant, standing hundreds of meters tall. Although Ruyi Jingu bang’s size was truly massive, the sword Arkael wielded was just as big.
With each clash, the confidence of the Warlord grew, making him believe that Thirteen could do nothing against him!
The other Pseudo-Gods, as well as their Supreme Commander, Azurhiel, laughed at the teenage boy’s pitiful attempt to fight against a being that outclassed him in more ways than one.
"Die, mongrel!" Arkael finally saw an opportunity and went for the kill.
Thirteen had been thrown off balance by their latest collision and shouldn’t be able to block Arkael’s sword thrust which could end his existence!
But as the sword was about to reach him, a faint smile appeared on Thirteen’s lips.
The sword stabbed the teenage boy, but the latter simply exploded into a white smoke.
Arkael’s eyes widened in shock, but this lasted only for a moment. He understood that the thing that he stabbed was only a clone, which meant that his opponent was somewhere nearby.
That was when he heard it.
"Heaven Slaying Arts First Form... Shackles of Eden!"
A golden chain wrapped around Arkael’s body, holding him in place.
"Fool, you can’t bind me with these puny chains!" Arkael shouted as he tried to break the chains that bound him using brute force. But no matter what he did, the chains refused to shatter, making his eyes widen in shock.
"You know, everyone has a plan," Thirteen said as he reached out to retrieve Ruyi Jingu Bang, increasing its size in the span of a few seconds. "Until they met me."
Arkael shouted with everything he had as he struggled to break free. He refused to believe that a puny chain could hold a Pseudo-God like him.
"Those chains won’t break not because you are weak," Thirteen stated as he prepared to strike. "They bind you because you are strong!"
A moment later the sound that was similar to a thunderclap reverberated in the battlefield.
That was the sound of Ruyi Jingu Bang colliding with the Warlord’s massive head, making the latter cry out in pain and shock after getting hit by the divine weapon.
The Valkyries cheered as their Master showed his might in front of everyone, giving hope to the Defenders of Solterra.
"I was the one who raised that kid," Arthur shamelessly said, making sure all the Monarchs, and Thrones could hear him. "Everything he knows, he learned from me."
Arthur’s face was as thick as Ruyi Jingu Bang, unaffected by the looks of disdain his colleagues were giving him.
If Thirteen wasn’t too busy fighting against a Pseudo-God, he might have given his no-good grandfather a good smack with the giant staff that had just sent the arrogant Warlord flying!
