System's POV-Chapter 987: Someone Who Couldn’t Be Explained With The Laws Of Their World
Before Thirteen could continue to sow discord in the summit, the Skavari destroyed the artifact that allowed the young man to project his image in front of them.
This made Prince Valen and the other powerful factions breathe a sigh of relief, thinking they could finally continue their meeting.
"I propose we place a bounty on Zion Leventis' head," Prince Valen stated. "The faction who will be able to kill him will be granted a territory of their own."
He knew he needed to do some damage control before the other factions were swayed to form a secret alliance with the teenage boy.
"I agree," General Varrak replied. "Although it will be difficult to kill him, anyone who succeeds will be rewarded properly."
More leaders nodded their heads in agreement. However, half a minute later, a familiar voice reached their ears.
"Sis, do you think these Jinns know how to spell the word delusional?"
"I don't think so. All of them look stupid, especially Prince Celery!"
Everyone shifted their attention in the direction from which they heard the sound and saw Thirteen with the two annoying Pocopocos back again.
"Since the majority of you now know how to use a Communicator, here is my personal number," Thirteen said before waving his hand.
His communicator number appeared, allowing some of the Jinns to take it down.
"Don't hesitate to contact me," Thirteen added. "I promise to keep your identities confidential."
The teenage boy's projection then flickered before disappearing completely.
One of the Rank 8 Sovereigns had attacked where his projection was located, destroying the artifact before Thirteen could say anything else.
However, it was already too late.
Thirteen had already accomplished his mission and laid down the foundation for the next stage of his plan.
The Summit of Conquerors continued, and they discussed more about the strategy they would use against the Wanderers.
Prince Zorren listened carefully to the discussion and remembered the key points of the meeting.
He planned to share this information with his Master so he could properly prepare for the Jinn's long-awaited attack against the forces of humanity.
——
Somewhere in the Planar Mountain Range…
The Overlord Beetle, Gwenn, listened to the report of its subordinate.
The first batch of Nightkiss Moths had hatched from their cocoons. Although they were only Rank 1 Monsters at the moment, Gwenn was happy since their birth had been a success.
They had plenty of resources and could afford to increase the Moths' Ranks.
However, the Overlord Beetle understood that if the war started right away, the Moths would only become Rank 2 or Rank 3 monsters at best.
Fortunately, the population of their main fighting force, made up of the Bombardier Beetles, the Blister Beetles, the Giant Fire Ants, and the Savage Killer Bees, was nearing their target quota.
Although the strongest among these monsters were only at Rank 6, their numbers were enough to deal great damage to any Jinn Army they would face in the battlefield.
Last but not least, they had the element of surprise.
The Planar Mountain Range was located in the Southeast region of the Continent, and it extended for several miles.
This meant that any armies marching in that direction would have to pass this location, making it the perfect slaughterhouse for the unprepared.
"Gwenn, how is everything on your side?" Thirteen, who had just finished trolling the Jinns in the summit, asked.
They were speaking through an artifact Thirteen had left with the Brain Beetle, allowing it to deliver weekly reports on the progress of their insect army.
"Master, we now have an army of over ten thousand," Gwenn reported. "We also managed to hatch thirty Nightkiss Moths. Should we proceed with the original plan?"
"Yes." Thirteen nodded. "The war is starting soon, and I want you to be ready to command our troops in battle. I'll be there by tomorrow to bring Evuvug to your side."
The Overlord Beetle still didn't have much experience in battles compared to the Brain Beetle, Evuvug.
Thirteen wished it would learn a lot from the upcoming war, so it could incorporate some strategies to command their insect army.
After ending the call, the teenage boy glanced at his people, who were currently collecting their spoils of war from the battle that had just ended.
They didn't suffer any casualties, but there were many seriously injured individuals.
Fortunately, Shana and the other Healers were very competent and swiftly treated their injuries.
They also had a surplus of healing potions and salves, which they had brought along in this journey.
"What is our next move?" Arthur asked.
"We will head to the Planar Mountain Range after a short rest," Thirteen answered.
For a brief moment, Thirteen thought of telling his grandfather about his suspicions about the Ashford and Stallard Clans' next movements.
But he set aside this plan for now, knowing that once his grandfather knew about his suspicions, he wouldn't be able to focus on his task at hand and probably return to the Aldebaran Continent in haste.
He needed Arthur by his side so the two Monarch Clans would think the Leventis Family was defenseless.
"Zion, you took a great risk to show these people Rocky's mobile fortress," Arthur sighed. "Now, they will know how you are able to travel undetected anywhere in the continent. If the Monarch Clans hear of this, they would definitely find a way to counter it."
"Don't worry, Grandpa," Thirteen replied. "No one will know about this."
"I don't know where your confidence is coming from, but you shouldn't underestimate the hearts of people. Everything has a price." Arthur warned. "We may be allies now, but we will not be allies forever."
Thirteen nodded in agreement. "Don't worry, Gramps. I have already made the necessary preparations to protect this secret. No one will talk about this."
"Even Roland?" Arthur smirked, giving his grandson a knowing glance.
"Even him," Thirteen replied firmly.
Arthur was one of the handful of people, aside from Shana's family, who knew about her engagement with Zion.
The old man was well aware that Roland had a crush on the Saintess, which was very obvious from the glances he would give her from time to time.
Truth be told, Arthur was feeling a bit anxious for the time when Roland discovered Shana's and Zion's relationship, which would definitely have consequences even he couldn't predict.
"Stop worrying too much, Gramps," Thirteen said after sensing what the old man was thinking. "We'll cross that bridge when we get there."
Arthur nodded because he didn't really want to meddle with the affairs of the younger generation.
He just felt sorry for Roland, who didn't know that the love of his life had already made her choice to spend her life with Zion.
While the two were talking, a gust of wind blew past them.
Zed then appeared a few meters away from Zion and made his report.
"Just as you expected Master, none of the surrounding factions are heading in this direction," Zed reported.
"Good." Thirteen nodded. "We will attack one more city before we head to the Planar Mountain Range. Make sure to keep an eye out for unexpected variables."
"Yes, Master." Zed nodded before once again taking flight.
Arthur looked at the demi-human Roc before shifting his gaze to his no-good grandson, who was filled with so many secrets.
Although he was curious, the Patriarch of the Leventis Family had stopped caring about how his no-good grandson was able to achieve the things that he did.
No ordinary person could do it.
He was simply extraordinary.
Someone who couldn't be explained with the laws of their world.
Even the so-called prodigies of the current generation would not be able to achieve his legendary feats.
Arthur believed that even if he were to be sent back to the past and do things all over again, he doubted he could accomplish even a fifth of what Zion had managed to achieve in the past few years.
He no longer cared if Zion was really his grandson, a Jinn, or an alien who had taken his current form.
Arthur didn't dare to become Zion's enemy and was even thankful to be a part of his family.
After everything he had seen and done with his grandson, Arthur was convinced of one thing.
As long as Zion was on their side, they would have nothing to fear, even if the sky were to fall upon their heads right at this very moment.
