Severin felt coldness in his heart. The thing in his body was none other than the seed that was ripped free from the monster that nearly destroyed the world.

He controlled his breathing, looking away from the Shadow Lord. He used his Etherion energy to internally scan his body, but he saw nothing. "What is the seed doing outside then?"

"Do you think the seed would still be stored together with the body? It was put outside this place for its safety, but now it is here, and I will devour both!"

Severin’s breath quickened. He did not like how everything was going out of his control fast. Since he arrived, he had been pulled in different directions while he did his best to steer well in the current.

But none of that showed on his face as he said, "It must have been difficult to find the seed outside."

"I spent years carefully building my army on the other side. They have been on it for a while now," Shadow Lord shrugged. "It is not easy, but it is here. You are here."

They stood in silence and stared at each other.

"Can you remove the seed without killing me?" Severin asked flatly.

"No."

"So you are a threat to my survival. I do not like that." Severin frowned. He looked toward Anansi, who appeared as if he was deep in thought, his eyes heavy and deep.

The Shadow Lord stood. He was taller than he appeared, far taller than any human, and as he stood, his shadow lengthened, covering the whole room and making it even darker. "You do not like it? I never asked for your advice on it!"

Severin’s heart missed a beat as he looked at the person looming above him. "Anansi, do you not think it is time?"

The words that he spoke seemed to jerk the once Lord out of his thought, and his eyes became clear and sharp, like broken glass.

Anansi opened his mouth to speak, and just then, something odd happened. Anansi’s voice was overlapped with another voice. "Very well, we should start."

The voice that came out at the same time was that of Anansi and the Shadow Lord.

Severin immediately felt as if a rope was tied around his neck. What the fuck?

He looked at Anansi well and noticed how blank his expression was.

Severin looked from the Shadow Lord and then at Anansi. A thought struck him, and his eyes narrowed. He asked bitterly, "Why is an old Lord doing, still walking around?"

If a Lord overthrew another Lord, then should they not kill their fellow rival? Why was Anansi still living? It was something that Severin did not think about. But now that he thought about it, in Sector Delta, with the mood and everything, then it would be advisable and expected to kill those that were disposed.

Yet Anansi still walks around freely.

Severin flashed a smile as he muttered, "For every novel that I have read, I do not see people just rushing to fight the boss. Why is my own so different? Should I not pass through some difficulties and then gain powers before fighting the boss?"

The expression of Shadow Lord and Anansi turned to confusion, and they spoke at once, "What nonsense are you sprouting?"

Immediately after Severin finished speaking, he threw himself forward in a blurring speed, using the initial boost from acceleration to his feet to shoot himself forward.

His sword flashed up, a speed that was almost too fast as he aimed at Anansi’s neck.

Immediately he realized what Anansi was, his plan had already been set. He just could not face two Lords at once, and if he could manage to kill Anansi!

He chose Anansi for his first target just for the same reason that Shadow Lord said he created it.

His sword swung upward like a darting quicksilver. A hit, and he would cleave Anansi’s head away from the shoulder.

But things did not go the way he wanted.

Anansi changed into the form of the monkey man. His hand came down, and sparks flew between their contact as sword and palm met.

Severin’s eyes widened.

It was as if Severin just hit a rock! Painful vibrations ran down his body, and he shuddered.

"You fool! A Lord is a Lord," the Shadow Lord said. "Even a dead one, and you hope to fight and defeat him? This is the most stupid thing!"

Severin did not bother with the Shadow Lord.

Anansi lurched a punch that snapped in the air like a bullet. The punch was so fast that it generated a sound and a physical ripple, but when it reached where Severin was, only blue sparks remained.

Suddenly Severin appeared at the side of Anansi in a flurry of blue lightning. His left hand still held a burning card. It was one of the equipment that was given to him, the one that allowed short distance teleportation!

He thrust forward, acceleration making his sword sound like a howling wind.

Anansi and the Shadow Lord were not expecting him to suddenly appear like that.

Anansi twisted. His body turned as if he had no joints or muscles, and even with the acceleration, he was still faster than Severin.

The sword passed through the air without resistance, and Anansi’s hand came down on his wrist with a heavy grip.

"Caught you!" their two voices said at once.

Severin immediately dropped his sword and caught it with his second hand, immediately swinging it with acceleration.
