Talentless Extra Of The Legendary Hero Academy-Chapter 130: Path of Divinity!
Chapter 130: Path of Divinity!
Dolor clapped mockingly. "Congratulations, you’ve figured something out. But so what? Does it change anything? I controlled everything till I reached here. Does that help you?"
Severin revealed a smile. "It’s just... it will help me to crush all of the powers that brought you here. It will be easier to find the trail you left behind, and then I’ll destroy this organization of yours."
Dolor went very still and rigid. His eyes narrowed. "You think you are going to leave this place alive? Is this some kind of joke?"
Severin ignored the question. Instead, he nodded his head. "The man that brought me to the Academy and wiped all of Severin’s memories, likely damaging his mind in the process.
"The one that made me coming to this place a possibility. The Head Instructor, Darius Faulkner."
"It was him, wasn’t it? He brought me here and wiped... Severin’s memories so that he could easily throw him into Sector Delta with the seed. He was already a sacrifice to you!
"But something changed. The timid Severin began to act rather in a strange way. He began to turn troublesome, and Darius Faulkner couldn’t do anything openly. He wanted to know what was actually going on and set different tests until he just decided to send me here."
"The real seed that Head Librarian Teresa thought was in my shadow, together with what Shadow Lord thought—they’re all fake. The real seed had been implemented inside me a long time ago.
"But what I don’t understand—what was the thing you put in my shadow?"
Dolor revealed a bitter smile. "Ah. I see. So you’ve figured it out. The seed was planted in you a long time ago. What was put in your shadow and then later inside you in the in-between world is my consciousness."
Severin felt a chill run down his spine. He had thought Head Instructor Darius Faulkner was wary about him because he had risen so fast and far.
"So... the one of the Empire’s most loyal soldiers is actually a traitor."
Dolor snorted coldly. "Traitor?"
He shook his head and seemed to view him with pity. "Poor Severin, what you don’t know is bigger than what you do.
"It’s better you become my food now. I’ll make you a deal. I’ll preserve your consciousness, and then after I’ve recovered my full power, I will craft a body for you. A strong one, and not the weak thing you are dragging around."
Dolor flashed a smile. "After all, crafting bodies is one of my hobbies."
"What do you think? Are you going to take the deal?"
Severin thought about it, his face calm. He sighed. "I like the deal, except for the fact that I can’t trust you, and then a little thing..."
He sighed again, but then his face twisted into an ugly smile. "Dolor. Your power is looking more and more appetizing. Besides, you owe this body, right? I will take this pain for myself as my gains for the troubles you’ve caused me. It’s only fair."
Dolor’s eyes narrowed. "You? You think you can handle this? I am the god of pain!"
Severin slowly smiled. "god, not God? Oh yes, I know about the concept of the Divine and how it is. You are not a God yet. That means your Authority on the power of Pain is limited."
Dolor took a step back.
"The Gods are made. They are not born. Of course, some already have the divinity in them. You, all of you, strive to take control of a concept throughout your life. Bit by bits until they overcome the concept and, sometimes, its related concepts. You strive to be the master of it.
"Right now, you are only a god. An Avatar of the concept of pain. I will devour you," Severin said flatly.
Dolor seemed as if he had never been surprised in his life. He was speechless and could only stare.
Severin sighed wearily. "The Singularity. It’s already a God and more, and it has more than one concept. You are trying to get crumbs from it, eh? Let’s see. The pain concept. It’s also related to twisting and... flesh modification."
It was all in the book. The Aberrant Singularity is a major antagonist, so the author had to go in depth into it. Although two of the Generals were missing, their powers and nature were listed.
After a long time, Dolor’s face twisted. "You are only a mortal. The pain—you can’t endure it."
Severin laughed, a cold, bleak laughter. "Is that so? Then when you chose me as the pain of the world, did you think of me as a mortal then? No. I get it now. This body is weak, but the mind is strong. It took on the pain that shouldn’t be it."
His voice turned sadder. "I don’t know what happened to you later, Severin Reignhart, but you can rest now."
Memories of his own pain flashed through his head, and Severin’s eyes turned to steel. "I will take it from here. All I want is to survive, and I will. After all, I still have my revenge back in the world."
Dolor sneered. "This is not all my powers. I still have my body. Do you really want to make an enemy of a god?"
Severin snorted. "The seed. It has Divinity. Perhaps I will start on my path of Divinity."
Dolor’s face twisted, and his figure flickered. He opened his mouth and roared. The space quaked, and deep red light outlined his body as pain energy dripped from his body like water.
Severin laughed and laughed.
His hand stretched forward, and something appeared. A small red dot that grew bigger by the second. It grew more red until he was holding the world’s reddest red in his hand, the size of a fist.
The orb of red seemed to drink all the light in the surroundings, concealing itself in darkness. But it still rotated above Severin’s hand.
The seed.
A part of Divinity.
Pain.
Dolor’s eyes flickered with greed and longing. He took a step forward, and he was immediately in front of Severin. "My power."
