Talentless Extra Of The Legendary Hero Academy-Chapter 153: Sealed fate
Chapter 153: Sealed fate
Darius Faulkner nodded. "You do that. They’ve been particularly a nuisance to our Academy. They deserve whatever you try to do to them."
The body, what remained of it, had since been packed out of the room, and the assistant’s own as well. To make a consistent story, they also made sure the assistant’s body was destroyed in an explosion as well.
"I’ll have to find new security measures before they return from the holidays. The children... I know the Academy should be brutal, but that should be within the students. Not from outsiders!" Vaelith said.
Darius nodded along again.
There was a reason why Vaelith was chosen as the commander of the security guards, and it had more to do with her passion, her genuine care for the students.
When Darius first joined the Academy, he was surprised to find that there are people who actually care about the students. People only care about students that show astonishing potential.
Although Zenith Hero is already the top of the top, there’s simply no way for more top to end.
So he had searched through her background.
During her school days, Vaelith lost most of her year mates in a terrorist attack that came from the Field Zone. Her friends were caught in it as well.
So when she became the commander, the first thing she did was clear the Field Zone.
It was a shame that Darius couldn’t bring her over to his side. It would have made a lot of his job easier, but the woman’s passion for doing her work wouldn’t allow him. Besides, it was also good like that. People who think they can make a difference in a system are always the most blind.
Vaelith went on and on about how good the Head—late—Librarian Teresa was and how it was a big loss for the Academy.
Darius disagreed silently in his mind.
Teresa belonged to another faction of the Obsidian Bleed, and now that Darius had completely taken over Severin’s project, he was naturally going to clean house.
But Severin just beat him to it.
Just then, a message was sent over, delivered to his system, and he silently opened it. When he read it, his body stiffened, and the surrounding area turned cold immediately.
His usually expressionless face showed great shock.
Severin... had disappeared? Scar members? Only Jade Callahan and the Headless remained alive?
What the hell?
"What’s wrong, Head Instructor? Has there been another incident?" Vaelith, who took notice of the happening, turned to him and asked anxiously.
Darius forced himself to shake his head and relax. "It’s nothing. Just the normal mainstream Empire gossip."
"Oh," she said and smiled knowingly.
One of the fronts that Darius put out was that he was a failed politician after his retirement from the army. So it wasn’t always unusual for him to follow gossip and such. That was also the method he used for receiving and sending messages.
"We’re done here, right? I’ll arrange for the funeral. I don’t think she has any relatives, so it should be fine for her to be buried in the Academy. As for the student, I’ll write for the compensation of his family. Excuse me."
Darius forced himself to unclench his fist as he made his way out of the room. Anger made his neck stiff, and he rushed to his office.
"What the fuck!"
"Tell me what’s happening!" Darius shouted to empty air.
From the darkness at the corner of the room, a man stepped forward. "My Lord. One of the Scar members, Lito, attacked the carriage that was transporting the package." ƒrēenovelkiss.com
Darius sneered. He could already tell where the news was going. His eyes darkened. "Severin Reignhart. What did you do again?"
The man hesitated. "About twenty minutes ago, they called for backup, and it was sent over, but by the time my men reached the place, it was already over. Only the Headless Knight and the Callahan kid were still standing."
"Headless Knight? Is that one still a Headless Knight now if he’s beaten by a Scar member?"
He should have known not to underestimate that kid. Severin Reignhart had proven again and again to be a real bastard.
"What about the package?"
The man took a deep breath. "The package had disappeared."
The man hurried on when he saw the look on Darius’s face. "But the strange thing that the Headless Knight said was that Severin wasn’t the package. That beneath his mask was a figure of shadow."
Darius stiffened, and his eyes went wide. He remembered Severin telling him that he wasn’t the real one, and his face turned sour. The boy had been playing him since the beginning. He smiled grimly. "It seems I did not take you seriously, Severin Reignhart. Alright, I will treat you as a serious enemy now."
Darius looked at the man. "Even till now, there are still men around House Chains, right? Nobody left or entered?"
"Yes, my lord."
"Then he must still be in there. I don’t know how he did it, but all of this must be a distraction so that he could get away and that we won’t be able to catch him. Joke’s on him."
"Shut down the Academy in the shadows. Lock down everywhere and don’t let a single person leave. His team, knowing where all of them are. Don’t let them leave no matter what. You must do as I said. Don’t worry about clashing with the security."
The man bowed. "What about House Chains?"
Darius Faulkner’s eyes glinted like wet dark stone. "I will deal with them myself."
The man bowed and joined the darkness.
Darius stood up and left the room. His blood was shimmering as he went, casting his surroundings into faint darkness. "If Severin thinks he could hide behind his House and Ardent, then he better think again. This is something that a lot of people have invested in.
"A lot of powerful people.
"Your fate has been sealed already, Severin Reignhart. This time, I will personally take you over to your new prison, my son."
