Chapter 26: No desire to mate

Robin’s eyes lit up like a Christmas tree. "I’ll take it only if no one else wants it."

When Oceanus handed him the remaining slice of bread, Robin automatically reached for a knife to cut the bread in half.

Then thinking of Andras, he offered the other half to him first.

When Andras declined the bread offering, Robin then offered it to the others seated at the table.

Of course, following in their leaders’ sage footsteps they all declined wisely.

Robin shrugged, and stuffed his mouth with the scrumptious bread, at least they couldn’t say he didn’t ask.

One by one all the men got up and offered Robin various sweet treats.

In front of Robin there was sitting a mountain of pastry and each time he finished a treat the men gave a toast to the newlyweds and he had to sip even more champagne.

Even though Robin disliked being the center of attention, he felt it was still way better than being ignored.

He found himself laughing a lot, and wondered if this was what it meant to be tipsy because he laughed at the most ridiculous of things.

Since every time Robin finished drinking all of his champagne a member from Andras’ inner circle would take turns to refill his champagne glass.

He hard a hard time refusing, so Robin ended up consuming more pastry as the liquor opened up his appetite.

At one point Robin was wondering if he spilled champagne on himself because the men at the table just kept gawking and whispering amongst themselves.

Feeling fed up, Robin inquired, "I don’t get it... what are you fellows laughing about now?"

Zagan smirked, "You impressed the men, Lord Robin."

"What did I do to garner such interest," prodded Robin.

Robin braced himself to hear the worst but he could have never prepared himself for the words that came bluntly out of Fagan’s mouth.

"You ate like a bird earlier when it came to the healthy food like the meats and vegetables but when it comes to the sweets you surprise everyone at the table."

"How come?"

Fagan grin, "we are all amazed by how you manage to stay so thin when you ate more in sweets than all of us seated at this table."

They were implying, he was hoarding sweets and greedily stuffing his face like a chipmunk preparing to go underground for the winter, Robin rolled his eyes at them.

"I’m glad you found some entertainment, I didn’t think that watching me eat would be so spectacular, much less noticed by others who should be eating their own meal."

Robin couldn’t hide the consternation in his voice, "considering I didn’t eat my usual fare."

Malachi looked at Robin’s flat stomach, "you’re lying. Do you sometimes eat more?"

From the time Malachi has been around Robin until now he had never seen him finish a plate of food until the tray of pastries today.

"I’m telling the God’s honest truth," swore Robin angelically.

Andras who was silent until he noticed Robin crossed his fingers under the table as he prepared to lie to his men’s face.

No one expected Andras to burst out into raucous laughter first at Robin’s outlandish behavior, then all his men joined in, until tears came to their eyes.

By now Robin’s face was beaming red with embarrassment and he tried to think of a way to no longer let himself be the topic of conversation around the dining table.

When the men finally quieted down Robin asked, "Andras, can you please introduce me to your men, I didn’t get all their names earlier."

"My humblest apologies my dear, I’ll let them introduce themselves to you," Andras replied generously.

Out of the seven seated with them, Robin was already familiar with Malachi, the twins Fagan and Zagan, and he had heard Andras call the blue haired dolphin tamer Oceanus.

Simeon was a flirt, with his blonde hair and devilish blue eyes, he even kissed the back of Robin’s hand ignoring the death glare from Andras as he introduced himself.

Gairy with his brunette hair was the shyest one in the group, he couldn’t even make eye contact after repeating his name twice.

While black haired Jareth was the quietest one, the type to sit silently and just observe.

To Robin what stood out most about Jareth was those mismatched eyes; one blue and the other green.

"Thanks for taking the time to introduce yourselves," announced Robin when they were all through with their introductions. "It’s certainly a pleasure to have met you."

"Andras, my bladder is full. So I’ll be going to the head now."

"Want me to go with you?" offered Andras.

Robin politely shook his head, "no need. I’ll be back before you know it."

When Robin exited the room a few seconds later Andras signaled to Malachi to follow the young man.

The boy’s swaggering gait would let anyone know that he was drunk and clearly exceeded his limits which was a recipe for disaster.

Only Robin would manage to trip over thin air and then apologize to a piece of rope for stepping on its toe.

With the way Robin’s luck had been terrible before he met Andras he might fall overboard into the ocean before he could even pull down his pants.

"Worried about the boy?" asked Simeon.

He watched Andras unclench his fist for the umpteenth time, everyone at the table knew their master was resisting the urge to go after Robin.

"No. I’m not," he snapped as Gairy thrust another glass of ale into Andras’ hands.

As usual, the delicious golden liquid compelled Andras to imbibe but did nothing to quench his thirst for Robin this time.

He tried to calm his nerves, by slumping in his seat while stretching out his legs before him but he still couldn’t feel at ease with Robin out of his sight.

"Oh," exclaimed Simeon thoughtfully. "I surmised that maybe the lad had managed to touch your heart or perhaps it’s the more carnal parts of your body he touched."

When Andras shot Simeon a fierce look.

Simeon added hastily, "Pardon me, my Lord Mulciber. I should know better than to pry."

"You should mind your own business Simeon, anyone can see the boy is innocent and I plan to let him stay that way for as long as he remains in my care."

It was Fagan who said bluntly, "Simeon brings up a valid point. It’s been ages since you’ve last shared a bed with your mistress and considering how often you changed bed partners in the past. Then even that cherubic looking young man may hold some appeal to your perverse desires." 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

"I might be half demon but it does not make me insatiable. I can control myself. I know my limits or I would not have managed to survive for long."

"We just think it’s better to separate you from Robin. Perhaps from now on he should sleep in the bunks with us," suggested Oceanus.

He interceded gently when Oceanus realized how upset Andras was becoming.

Andras’ face crumpled instantly at the thought of being separated on their wedding night. "Why? I have no desire to mate with Robin."

"Does Robin know that?" interrupted Gairy softly, he too had been listening with rapt interest.
