Taming SSR And UR RANK Superwomen-Chapter 23 — A Perfect Tool
The sun had barely begun to rise as Thomas walked through the East residential district. The air there was cleaner, colder, and the streets were nearly empty. The houses, neatly arranged and painted in subdued tones, displayed small, carefully maintained gardens. In front of him stood a burgundy-colored house: 1389 Olimpo Vernircar.
He paused for a few seconds before pressing the doorbell.
’So this is where you hid her... witch.’
He hadn’t slept much. Not because he was uncomfortable, but because his mind wouldn’t stop circling two things: his sister and the gift capable of erasing any trace of a search.
If it could hide someone, manipulate perception, or even distort location... that power was worth more than anything else right now.
He pressed the bell. He heard footsteps inside—firm, calm. But before the door opened, a presence behind him caught his attention.
"Looking for someone?"
Thomas turned his head slightly.
A young woman stood a few yards away. Long pink hair tied back in a distinctive style. Intense green eyes studied him with a mix of caution and analysis.
She wore striking clothes: a black-and-white striped sweater, the fabric torn in places, though it didn’t look old or dirty. Under the sweater, she wore black mini shorts that revealed her thick thighs and long legs.
She carried a natural presence that was impossible to ignore.
’Her...?’
"I’m here for my sister," Thomas replied evenly. "Iris Miller."
The young woman tilted her head slightly.
"Then you’re Thomas."
It wasn’t a question. Thomas turned fully to face her.
"And you are...?"
"Lucía."
The name echoed clearly in his mind.
’Lucía Zenith.’
She took a couple of steps toward the door and opened it without hesitation.
"My aunt told me you’d be coming."
Thomas narrowed his eyes slightly.
’Right... the call.’
Lucía showed neither a smile nor hostility. She simply stepped aside.
"Come in."
Thomas entered.
The interior wasn’t the "big house" one might expect for that neighborhood. It was modest: a small living room, simple furniture, a wooden table with three chairs. No luxury. Just order.
He closed the door behind him—and then he saw her.
"Brother!"
Iris ran out from the hallway.
Her white hair was tied into a messy ponytail. Her eyes were damp. She wore borrowed clothes, slightly too big for her. She threw herself at him without hesitation.
Thomas opened his arms instinctively.
"Iris..."
She clutched his shirt tightly.
"Where were you?!" Her voice broke. "When they threw our things out... I thought you’d come... you were taking so long and..."
Thomas felt his fingers tense slightly against her back.
’I was late.’
He remembered that night. The chaos. The eviction. The shouting. And him... busy with other things.
He lowered his gaze.
"I’m sorry."
Iris pulled back just enough to look at him.
"I waited for you..." Her lips trembled. "I thought you were going to leave me."
Thomas shook his head firmly.
"I would never do that."
Lucía watched the scene from the side, arms crossed. She didn’t intervene. She observed. Thomas noticed her gaze.
’She doesn’t look affected.’
Iris wiped her face with the back of her hand.
"Miss Lucía let me stay here... she told me not to worry..."
Thomas nodded slowly.
"Thank you."
’I don’t mean it, but her gift is impressive.’
Lucía raised an eyebrow.
"I didn’t do it for you."
Thomas held her gaze.
"I know."
Iris looked between them, confused by the subtle tension in the air.
"Can we go now?" she asked softly.
Thomas hesitated for a fraction of a second.
’Not yet.’
He had already been observing Lucía’s information; he had been wearing the Entity Viewer the entire time. Now he was taking the search for heroines within his domestication and combat range more seriously.
Floating beside Lucía were letters in a striking combination of colors. Her name glowed in gold; Rank C shone in blue; and SSR rarity gleamed in purple.
[Entity Detected.]
Name: Lucía Zenith
Gift: ?
Rarity: SSR
Rank: C
Class: ?
Skills: NOT AVAILABLE
Thomas sharpened his gaze slightly when he noticed more than he usually could see.
’Why is her gift blocked from me? Is it because her rank is higher than mine?’
The aura surrounding her wasn’t aggressive. Lucía stood there, composed within her own mystery. Combined with her attractive figure and presence, she managed to intimidate him.
Lucía tilted her head slightly.
"What are you staring at?"
"Sorry. I didn’t realice."
If her power was what Elvira had implied, she could hide people, places, even events. That made her an invaluable resource.
’With her, the System could operate undetected. A perfect tool. And like any tool, it can be acquired.’
He straightened subtly as he continued thinking.
’The problem? Rank C. The sedative doesn’t work on entities above Rank E. I’d need another method... or I’d need to level up.’
Iris hugged his arm again.
"Brother... I want to go with you."
Her voice pulled him out of his calculations and, for a moment, something other than ambition crossed his chest.
"Yes," he replied. "I came for you."
Lucía uncrossed her arms.
"Before you take her, I need to speak with you."
Formal. Distant. Thomas looked at her with renewed interest.
"About what?"
"About the conditions."
’Conditions?’
Iris looked at Lucía with slight concern. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
"You don’t have to..."
Lucía gently raised a hand, signaling her to stay quiet.
"If you’re taking her, I want to make sure she’ll be safe."
Thomas held her green gaze without blinking.
"She’s my sister."
"And yet she was left alone while they threw all her belongings out into the street. At night."
Direct. Firm. A faint smile formed at the corner of Thomas’s mouth.
’Interesting.’
She wasn’t like her aunt. There was no fear. No open hostility. There was evaluation—and that made her even more appealing in his eyes.
He straightened slightly.
"Then let’s talk," Thomas replied.
As Iris watched them, Thomas couldn’t help thinking one thing:
’Lucía Zenith... you’re not an attack-type heroine, but you’re the most important piece in my plans.’
