Taming the Hybrid Mate: Desired by Five Alphas-Chapter 235: Let’s make cakes
Andria’s POV
As she spoke, her blush widened. She was narrating the experience as if it were dream-like.
Arlo is just the best mate for her, and the moon goddess made it so because any other mate could have made her lose her glow and soft nature.
"When did Allison leave?" She asked, squinting her eyes at me.
"She left as soon as she woke up," I replied, almost done sorting out the mess in my room.
"Oh, I see. Tomorrow is prom, we have to go stay with her tonight until tomorrow," Becca suggested.
"Ok, that’s an excellent idea. You should tell her then," I replied.
"Let’s pay her a surprise visit," Becca said.
"I don’t think that’s a good idea, Becca. What if she wants to be left alone? What if she is in no mood to entertain guests? We could be invading her privacy," I countered.
"Or it might turn out for the best. She is elated and really wanted us to be with her to help chase away the jitters about the prom contest. Stay positive, Ari, it must not be so negative with you always," Becca argued.
"Ok, we will, but if it turns out badly, the blame is on you," I warned.
"And if it turns out great, then you have to thank me," she laughed.
"Whatever, Becca," I said dismissively, changing the subject. "Let’s go prepare dinner."
"What do you want to make for dinner?" Becca said, squinting her eyes, already attempting to avoid cooking.
"We are baking cake without toppings, and we would make smoothies to go with it," I replied, dragging her by the arm and leading her out of my room and into the kitchen.
"Ari, I’m so exhausted to partake in this activity right now," Becca pleaded.
"If you don’t participate, you won’t eat...trust me."
"Alright, Aria. But someday you would ask me for a favor, don’t forget today," Becca replied.
"You are just so petty and lazy," I teased her, nudging her shoulders.
"Ari!!!" She exclaimed.
"Sorry, I’m just being truthful and blunt with you," I said, throwing my hands up in the air.
"I don’t like you, yet I like you," Becca muttered under her breath.
"I know you love me, and I love you," I replied to her, and she rolled her eyes at me.
"We should make some for Allison too, don’t you think so?" Becca suggested.
"That would be nice," I concurred.
If there’s anything I’ve learned from Becca, it’s that she was a very supportive friend and unwavering in her support.
In less than two hours, we had already baked the cake and prepared the smoothies.
"I need to take a shower. I smell like dough," Becca lamented.
"We need a shower, but the smelling like dough part...you hardly touched dough," I teased.
"You must be blind, Ari," Becca retorted, rolling her eyes at me.
"Well, it’s getting late; we should get going already," I announced.
I walked back to my room, pulled out my dress, rushed into the shower, cleaned up, and threw some decent clothes on. Packed my prom gown, jewelry, purse and heels.
I took the emerald purse to go with the glossy red gown and green heels.
A knock came on my door, a few minutes later.
"Are you not yet set? I want to eat the cake hot," Becca called out from behind the door.
"I’m almost set," I replied, closing my bag, hanging it on my shoulder, and heading for the door.
"Did you pack your prom wear?" Becca asked immediately as I got out of the door.
"No, I didn’t. I would rather stress myself coming back to this place tomorrow before prom," I answered her sarcastically.
"That’s so damn rude, Ari."
"You already know the deal, so why did you ask?" I replied.
"I was just being a caring friend and reminding you, Ari. You have been picking on me since I got back from Arlo’s place. Did something happen?"
"No," I replied almost immediately, a blush warming my cheeks.
"You look flustered and flushed...wait...wait...Did the Alpha successors come?"
"No, Becca. I just slept off, and I’m not picking on you."
"But you are, or rather you were." 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
"Ok then, I will stop."
"That’s much better," Becca replied, flipping her hair.
"I’ll stop picking on you, but I’ll do this," I said, pulling her hair backwards, and taking off.
Becca chased after me. "If I get to you, I’ll make sure I pull your hair till there’s no hair on your scalp," she yelled.
"You know you can’t," I replied, running as fast as my legs could carry me towards Allison’s dormitory.
"Ari, I’ll get you, and you will see if I can’t," she shouted.
"Not when I’m already in Allison’s place," I shouted back.
Very soon, I got to Allison’s dormitory. I knocked frantically for her to open, but she took some time to respond.
It was on my second knock that she opened the door just as Becca stretched out her hand to pull my hair.
"What’s going on?" Allison asked immediately as she opened the door.
"Surprise!!" Becca and I chorused.
"I don’t understand," Allison said, her eyes wide open.
"Well, since tomorrow is prom, we decided to come get you ready and chase out the jitters," Becca said.
"We brought some cake and a smoothie," I added.
"You didn’t have to bother. But I won’t lie, I was surprised," she said, looking at me.
"I’m the one who suggested that," Becca announced, noticing Allison’s eye direction.
"Calm down now, Becca. You suggested we pay her a surprise visit, but I made the cakes," I said, rolling my eyes at her.
"I assisted," Becca argued.
"Alright, Becca, that’s fine already. You are such a good friend," I replied to her, and Allison burst out laughing.
"Anyway, I won the prediction," Becca announced.
"I know, petty Becca," I replied.
"That’s not how to say ’thank you," she countered.
"Thank you, petty Becca," I replied.
"You are being very troublesome, Ari," Allison muttered.
"Oh, I’m sorry, Becca, I was just being overly playful," I replied.
