Tangled Hearts: Chased by Another Tycoon after Divorce-Chapter 165: Biting His Neck Hard
The sun set in the west, as the tall, handsome man carried Victoria Monroe back to the vacation hotel along the coconut grove corridor.
This hotel had been booked exclusively by him, with not a single guest or even hotel staff in sight.
Having spent the last few days at sea, Victoria Monroe still preferred the feeling of solid ground beneath her feet.
The pool shimmered with light, and the bougainvillea and plumeria flowers beside it bloomed brilliantly.
Thinking about what she and Rhys Hawthorne were about to do, Victoria felt a bit nervous.
She glanced at Rhys stealthily. From this angle, she could only see the sharp lines of the man’s jaw and his prominent Adam’s apple.
Victoria was actually quite curious if a man like Rhys, in bed, maintained the same restrained appearance?
The closer they got to the room, the more nervous she became, her palms were covered in sweat.
As soon as they reached the room, her words were swallowed by the man’s kiss.
"Rhys..." 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
His phone rang.
This phone was his private phone, and usually, no one contacted him on it.
Except for Victoria Monroe and his immediate family.
So when it rang, it felt like a bucket of cold water had been poured over the two of them.
Victoria felt as though she had been enticed by him, and the desire faded from Rhys’s eyes. "Sorry, I need to take this call."
After all the mental preparation Victoria had done, it was suddenly ruined, making her a bit angry.
It was as if she had taken off her pants, only to be shown this.
Just as Rhys answered the call, she suddenly leaned down and gave his neck a hard nibble.
Rhys, who had just answered the call, suddenly trembled and said, "Dad."
Tristan Hawthorne’s voice came through, "What’s wrong with you?"
Despite having faced numerous challenges over the years, this was the first time Rhys encountered such an embarrassing situation.
Victoria raised her head, satisfied as she looked at the small hickey on his neck, with a mischievous glint in her eyes.
Seizing the moment while he took the call, she hurried to wash up in the restroom.
Instinctively, Rhys wanted to loosen his tie, but as his fingers reached his collar, he realized that he had been wearing just a white shirt without a tie these days.
His well-defined fingers brushed over the mark she had left, and a subtle smile appeared on his lips.
"It’s nothing, the sea breeze is a bit strong, my throat feels uncomfortable. Is something the matter? If I’m not mistaken, I’m still on my annual leave." Rhys casually found an excuse.
The elders of the Hawthorne Family greatly respected the younger generation, especially with Rhys having recently thrown himself into his work as if possessed.
He hadn’t had a break in a long time, and it was rare for him to take the initiative to request annual leave.
His family was thrilled and even gave him an additional two weeks to let him relax completely.
After all, they had a family group chat, and his youngest sister, who talked the most every day, would inquire about his whereabouts and such. The elders knew he was on vacation abroad and wouldn’t disturb him lightly.
Tristan Hawthorne pondered for a moment and asked in his deep voice, "Do you have a woman with you?"
He asked directly, and Rhys didn’t beat around the bush. Looking at the reflection of the hickey on his neck in the shoe cabinet mirror, he replied straight away, "Yes, I do. Once I’ve won her over, I’ll bring her home after a while."
The man on the other end furrowed his brow, "Rhys, I must have talked to you about the criteria for choosing a partner. You’ve always been a sensible child."
"Dad, it seems you already know who she is, so I don’t need to go to the trouble of introducing her. Since you think I’m sensible, you should trust my judgment. She is a very good girl."
"Rhys, you have never been in a relationship and don’t understand women. Some women out there have complex thoughts. It’s not as simple as you think. You don’t like Miss Lou, and there’s still the Shawcross Family’s daughter waiting to meet you. If anything else fails..."
Tristan Hawthorne’s attitude wasn’t arrogant; the Hawthorne Family always emphasized respecting the children’s preferences.
Rhys having a girlfriend was a good thing, but the identity of this particular girlfriend was too unique. No matter how tolerant the Hawthorne Family was, it was impossible for their Crown Prince to marry a divorced woman!
"Dad, to me, Victoria is the best woman. Since childhood, you taught me not to look at a person with my eyes but with my heart. Please give me a chance. Once you meet Victoria, you’ll certainly like her."
"Rhys, I’m not saying she’s bad, it’s just that there’s been too much noise about her recently. Not just your mother and I, but if your grandfather finds out, he’ll break your leg."
Tristan Hawthorne sighed, "Listen to me, break it off with Victoria Monroe."
