"My Starling," a voice called.

Myna turned her head when she heard someone call her with that name. Apart from her adopted father, no one calls her like that. A smile bloomed on her face. Valene was stunned seeing her smile like that. How he wished to kiss her at that second. Lost in her smile, he didn’t notice the looks on his friends’ faces.

"Dad!!" she yelled as she ran into his embrace.

"You became thin," he said as he rubbed her back while hugging her.

"Your star missed you," she said with a pout.

"Then you should have called the father star," he said rubbing her head.

"Don’t ruin my hairstyle," she said angrily.

Aria’s eyes were full of stars as she looked at her daughter-in-law and her in-laws. She got the daughter-in-law she wished for!!!! Aww... soon, her daughter-in-law would act cutely in front of her. And her grandchildren, they would inherit all the cuteness from her. She could imagine her house filled with cuteness. Aww... she was flying in the clouds. Just then she heard her in-law continuing.

"Now, I need to meet your mother-in-law. I have to warn her, that she is inviting trouble into her life," he said with a narrowed gaze.

"Dad, then your star would be single forever," she said.

"I can handle you with years of experience but not your mother-in-law," he said.

"Dad, you are insulting me!" she pouted.

"I didn’t! I am just taking care of your mother-in-law’s future heart problems," he said.

"Enough, Myna. Now, we have to start the ceremony. Stop clinging to dad. Let him meet your fiance and your mother-in-law,"

"Okay," Myna nodded like an obedient kid.

"Dad, this is Val..." before she could finish he beat her words.

"Hello, Young Man, how are you?" he asked.

"I am good, Mr. Hallard," Valene said firmly. But back in his head, he was scared of this man. He looked dangerous yet loving. He wondered how could be a man handsome, dangerous, fit, and loving. And also as a man, even he was attracted to him. At this age, this man still looked so hot.

Myna frowned when her dad didn’t let her say her fiance’s name to him. "Dad, his name is..." before she could finish his name, he cut her words.

"I know, little star. His name is Valene Parkinson," he said.

"Dad knows everything!" Myna said with a silly smile.

"Of course, if it concerns you then I have to know it," he said.

She smiled at him.

"Miss. Aria, I am Anthony Thorne Hallard," he said extending his hand to Aria to shake.

"Anthony Thorne Hallard... in the sense the same Hallard who rules the medicinal world Arrowglen," Aria said bluntly.

"The night business was gone when my wife entered my life long ago. And yeah... we have business in medicine in Arrowglen," he said.

"And I am glad, my daughter got you as her mother-in-law. I would have been worried if it’s someone else," he said. Aria gave a knowing smile to him.

"You are late," she said. She was implying that, did he not like them.

"I started two days ago, but my wife’s health is not well. So, I have to postpone my trip for today. And I have to go back to treat her after this engagement," he said.

"Oh, I hope she has a speedy recovery," Aria said.

"That will happen if she sees her daughter," he said.

"You can take Myna tomorrow with you," Aria said.

"Nope, Miss. Aria, it’s not it. God separated her child from her when she was six years old. Getting that child is hard," he said directly.

Aria nodded her head not probing her head. But losing a child was a really big thing. She had a miscarriage too. She felt lost till today. But his wife saw her daughter grow up and then was gone. She was alive but not in front of her eyes. How painful a situation it is to her?

When a mother knew that her child is alive but not with her, it was the most painful thing for her. She couldn’t eat or sleep or be at peace. All she could think was about her child. Her grief has no bounds. And a man like him can’t find his child means it could be something serious.

Soon, the ceremony started. The Emcee started introducing the Groom and Bride as per ritual. When they heard Myna’s full name and then her father, people gasped. The legendary king of Medicine’s world was the in-laws of Parkinson.

People who ridiculed Myna and said she seduced Valene, now placed a finger on their lips. How could they not?

The Parkinson’s were really like to keep things secretive. Mason, Tiffany, Edward joined the group before starting everything.

Edward was in kind of an awkward situation. He liked Myna too but he behaved like a jerk with her. After a while, he really liked her. He can’t say it’s love. But... maybe it’s like. He hoped to have her. But he couldn’t. Now, seeing his sister happy and would become sister-in-law to his crush, he could only smile bitterly to himself.

Nevertheless, he hoped she could have the happiness she deserved in her life. Edward may not be a good person, but he was not a bad person either. He believes in what he saw and blindly follows that. Now... many things happened in his life, he changed, changed for good. Still, when he saw the woman once he liked getting engaged made him restless. He hoped he would find love in his life too and lead a happy life too, just like others.

Every person changes in their lives. Even time, fate and situations don’t the same. And we are simple humans, how could we stay the same all the time? Every person changes, but when he changes his priorities, his habits, his mindset, and the way he looks at the world changes. We have to make sure that we changed for good not for the worst as life goes on.
