Ten Thousand Dragons Technique-Chapter 343: Lin Xuan Returns!
Lin Xuan had no intention of staying in the ancient relic any longer. He had been there for far too long and was ready to leave.
He had already grasped the basics of the Great Derivation Divine Technique and the Great Derivation Sword Technique, but mastering them would require a great deal of time. He planned to continue his cultivation slowly after he returned.
Before leaving, Lin Xuan looked toward Sword King Lei Hong. What should I do with this guy?
Sword King Lei Hong’s heart leaped into his throat. "Young Master, spare my life!" he pleaded, terrified that Lin Xuan would kill him.
"Kid, let him be," the big black dog said. "He’s from the Holy Land of Great Derivation. You’ll be going to a Holy Land in the future, so keeping him around might be useful."
Lin Xuan nodded, deciding to listen to the big black dog.
"Just stay here and recover," the big black dog continued. "Come find us when you’re mostly healed."
Sword King Lei Hong sighed in relief, grateful to have survived. But then, a bitter smile crossed his face. "It’s impossible for me to recover here. I’m constantly being tortured."
"That Demon Sword is tormenting me. It won’t be long before I’m reduced to ashes," he explained. This was why he had been so desperate to find a new body.
"Then just pull the sword out," the big black dog said casually.
Sword King Lei Hong shook his head. "It can’t be pulled out. It’s a Demon Sword; no one can remove it."
The words had barely left his mouth when the big black dog swiped its paw, effortlessly pulling the Demon Sword free.
The Sword King’s eyes nearly popped out of his head. How is that possible?
"It’s just a broken sword. Did you think it could stump a saint like me?" the big black dog scoffed, tossing the Demon Sword aside. "There! Now you can recover on your own."
The Sword King was so excited he was on the verge of tears. With the Demon Sword removed, he could finally resume his cultivation and recover his strength. He no longer needed to possess someone else’s body.
"Thank you, thank you so much!" he exclaimed, kneeling in gratitude.
The big black dog just waved its paw, as if it had done something utterly insignificant.
Lin Xuan, however, was staring at the weapon. "This Demon Sword could threaten a Sword King, so its origins must be extraordinary. Can I use it?"
The big black dog shook its head. "No. The Demonic Qi on it is too heavy. You can’t handle it right now."
Fair enough. Lin Xuan sighed.
He then left the secret chamber and headed outside. Soon, Lin Xuan was out of the ancient relic. When he emerged, he felt as if a lifetime had passed.
I wonder how everyone else is doing? It’s been so long. Are Senior Sister Ye and the others worried about me?
Lin Xuan prepared to return to the Heavenly Dao Academy. However, after taking only a few steps, a figure rushed out from the forest ahead.
"Young Master, is that you?" the figure called out excitedly.
Lin Xuan focused his gaze and saw that it was Li Qiushui, the young lady of the Cyan Dragon Manor.
"Why are you here?" Lin Xuan asked, surprised.
"It really is you!" Li Qiushui’s eyes instantly turned red upon seeing him. "Young Master, you’re not dead! This is wonderful!" She began to cry tears of joy.
The news of Lin Xuan’s fall had spread throughout the world, and the Cyan Dragon Manor had naturally heard it. But they refused to believe it. Lin Xuan was a descendant of a Great Emperor; how could he die so easily? So, they had kept people stationed near the ancient relic, waiting for him even after several months had passed. Unexpectedly, their vigil had finally paid off. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"Of course I’m not dead," Lin Xuan said with a smile. "By the way, what’s been happening lately? Did Senior Sister Ye and the others return to the Heavenly Dao Academy?"
"Young Master, you have no idea. So much has happened while you were gone," Li Qiushui said, quickly recounting the events of the past few months.
Lin Xuan was left dumbfounded. He never imagined that his being trapped in the ancient relic would cause such a storm, with everyone believing him to be dead. He was even more surprised to learn that ten top geniuses from the Liuyun Country had come to issue challenges. One of them, Gu Linfeng, was especially dominant, having swept through both the current and previous Hidden Dragon Charts. He had suppressed the entire younger generation of the Great Xia Country, leaving them utterly defeated.
"Hmph, do they think my Great Xia has no one left?" Lin Xuan snorted coldly. "It’s time to make a move."
He decided to head to the Imperial City, and Li Qiushui followed alongside him, sending a message to her grandfather. When the Cyan Dragon Manor Master received the news, he let out a jubilant laugh that echoed toward the heavens. He knew Lin Xuan couldn’t possibly be dead. He also quickly made his way to the Imperial City, preparing to rendezvous with Lin Xuan.
「On the way」
Li Qiushui suggested Lin Xuan put on a black robe to hide his identity for the time being. "You killed the Third Prince, and the Celestial King’s Mansion is furious," she explained. "Back then, the Celestial King led a group of masters here to ambush you. They only gave up because they thought you had perished. If they find out you’re alive, they’ll certainly stop at nothing to kill you. They might even try to intercept you on the road."
"It would be best to hide your identity for now, Young Master. It won’t be too late to reveal it once we reach the Imperial City."
"Alright." Lin Xuan donned a black robe and put up the hood of his cloak, obscuring his entire figure. The two of them then traveled quickly.
「Meanwhile」
The Great Xia royal family issued a talent conscription decree, continuing to summon the young prodigies of the nation. The royals promised a piece of Ancient Soul Jade to anyone who could defeat Gu Linfeng. It was an extremely precious soul-type treasure containing immense Soul Power that could rapidly enhance one’s own after absorption.
Spurred on by such a reward, a few more challengers finally stepped forward, but they were all defeated by Gu Linfeng. For a time, the land was filled with sighs of lament. It seemed Gu Linfeng was simply too strong; they were no match for him. Unless Chu Zhongtian returned, no one could possibly defeat him. Some people even started hoping Gu Linfeng would just leave and not linger any longer.
The Imperial City remained as bustling as ever, as most of the prodigies had not left. They wanted to see if anyone would emerge who could finally defeat Gu Linfeng.
Chu Yue was also there, eagerly awaiting her brother’s arrival. She was confident that as soon as he came, he could send this Gu Linfeng flying with a single slap. In the meantime, she wasn’t staying idle. She decided to go to the Cyan Dragon Pavilion to sell the bronze ring she had found, hoping to exchange it for other treasures. If she could achieve a breakthrough at this time, she might have a chance to defeat Gu Linfeng herself. As for the ring, she had studied it for months but still couldn’t figure out how to use it. Rather than let it go to waste, she figured it was better to sell it for something useful.
The Cyan Dragon Pavilion was a very famous Treasure Pavilion in the Imperial City. It housed countless precious treasures, and as long as you had the money, they could procure almost anything you desired.
Not long after Chu Yue went inside, another two figures arrived at the Cyan Dragon Pavilion.
"Young Master, this Cyan Dragon Pavilion is an enterprise of our Cyan Dragon Manor. My grandfather is already here," Li Qiushui said. "Why don’t you rest for a day? You can challenge that Gu Linfeng after you’ve recovered your strength."
"Alright," Lin Xuan nodded. He walked into the Cyan Dragon Pavilion, brushing past Chu Yue without a second glance.
An elder from the pavilion approached Chu Yue with a warm smile. "Young Lady, how may I help you?"
Chu Yue took the bronze ring off her finger. "I’d like to sell this," she said. "Please make me an offer."
The elder took the ring, but after a single glance, his expression changed dramatically.
Chu Yue asked curiously, "What is it? Do you recognize this ring?"
The elder examined it closely for a long moment, his demeanor growing incredibly grave. Isn’t this the Cyan Dragon Ring? This is the Young Master’s ring! How did it end up in her hands? No, I must get to the bottom of this.
Taking a deep breath, the elder said, "Young Lady, please come with me."
He led Chu Yue into a private room. He planned to interrogate her thoroughly, and if she refused to cooperate, he wouldn’t be polite about it.
A smile crept onto Chu Yue’s lips. Seeing how seriously the elder was taking this, she figured the ring must be priceless. Perhaps I can exchange it for a great many treasures. At that thought, her heart began to race with excitement.
