603 ‘May you forever be of one mind’

Zi Han was so entranced that he didn’t realise that the route they used was extremely long. Alongside the busy streets whether it be in the most affluent neighbourhood or the most impoverished, men, women and children were standing on the side of the road eager to catch a glimpse of their most beloved prince and his future husband.

This was as per tradition but no one thought there would be this much support for Zi Han. He was after all the most vilified prince in the history of the federation and even topped the list of the most wanted criminals.

Most political analysts and reporters predicted that he would be the most hated prince with very little support. But they were wrong. The streets were crowded despite the fact that the citizens could now watch the procession on StarNet on every broadcasting channel.

What the so called analysts and reporters couldn’t see was that even before they discovered he was the prince, Zi Han had done more for the disadvantaged than any of the prime ministers had done combined.

He had not only brought evildoers who had terrorised them to justice but the Bloodgarde, alongside the Lin foundation, had changed so many people’s lives.

From free hospitals to education centres and the dream foundation personally orchestrated by Zi Han himself. Any kid who had a passion and dream in Onyx federation deserved a fair chance to achieve that and the dream foundation made it possible.

Zi Han was vilified in the media and on StarNet but in the slums, he was an angel they didn’t deserve. It’s just that, unlike others who broadcasted to the entire federation the good deeds they had done for others, Zi Han was a shadow in the background. Those who knew what he and Zi Xingxi had done for them knew. The rest of the world didn’t have to know. ƒ𝑟𝑒𝙚𝚠e𝗯𝘯𝗼𝘃𝑒𝚕. c𝒐𝒎

Yi Chen glanced at Zi Han and said, “It seems you have more fans than the Kao boys,” while rubbing the back of his lover’s hand with his thumb.

Zi Han came out of his trance and glanced outside the window in a trance. What he saw were streets filled with so many people. They were like a colony of ants surrounding their queen admiringly. Zi Han smiled slightly when he saw the distinct banners from the former Republic citizens adapting into Capital star.

.....

The words written on them were clear. The first red banner read ‘May you have a harmonious union that lasts one hundred years’ and the second read ‘May you live together until your hair turns white with old age’. The last one was the biggest and it read ‘May you forever be of one mind’.

Zi Han who had no idea that he had touched so many lives felt a pang in his heart. It was only now that he had realised his importance to them. All those words by those broadcasters before his wedding were disproved in this moment.

They had said things like they wouldn’t participate because even if he was a prince he had blood on his hands. He had no morals and ethics that a decent human being should have. They had claimed that having this grand celebration was like celebrating a lawless criminal and vigilante the nobles hated the most.

Zi Han didn’t care much about how they felt or what they said. All that mattered was what was in his heart. Which bastard that he killed didn’t deserve it? He had no guilt in his heart so it didn’t matter to him what they thought of him. But seeing these people wishing him well and celebrating him in the streets Zi Han was so touched.

Yi Chen knew what all those people said and when he tried to interfere his father-in-law stopped him that’s because he wanted their faces to hurt so much when they saw this very scene.

As a royal family member, Zi Han had to have a thick skin because they were meant to accept and be able to handle criticism. Yi Chen also knew Zi Han was unbothered by their words but seeing that smile on his face he felt his heart melting in his chest.

He leaned down and asked, “Do you want to wave at them? They would remember it for the rest of their lives.”

Zi Han thought it awkward. Who on earth would want him to wave at them? Wasn’t it a little weird? But seeing the look of reassurance in Yi Chen’s eyes he agreed.

Seeing that Zi Han had agreed, Yi Chen instructed Raylan to open the roof of the hovercar. The screams and jeers from the crowd amplified as they saw the roof of the car disappear revealing the pair of lovers adorned in dazzling red.

High-sounding sounds of praise ripped through the air as Zi Han awkwardly raised his hand in a barely visible wave. He thought no one would see it but seeing the former Republic citizens jumping up and down with others trying to reach over the guard rail to touch him, Zi Han’s heart jolted. He seemed even more confident this time thus he waved a little more and boy, did the crowd love it.

Zi Han, “...”

Was this how those celebrities felt when they were receiving admiration from their fans? It was indeed an amazing yet overwhelming feeling. Zi Han was getting into this whole smile and wave thing when his future husband suddenly pulled him close and tilted his head slightly before whispering, “Not too much just in case they fall even more in love with you. I can’t take the competition.”

Zi Han couldn’t help but stifle his laughter while pinching Yi Chen’s waist. Yi Chen leaned down his head resting on Zi Han’s shoulder.

This single dog-abusing image was so sweet that it blew up on StarNet. It was the image of a loving couple shoving their love in people’s faces and boy did they love it.

They ate it up so much that it was trending for six months straight, well, that is until a certain someone consensually kidnapped his bride.

There was no need to mention who it was. What was shocking was how long it took him to execute that plan.
