THE AWAKENING: BIO-GENETICS-Chapter 290: Cocoon

"What’s it again, Alphas?" Shino asked in alert, the rest were too, waiting for him to say something.

Ren checked his watch puzzled. "No it’s..." he came to a halt, and the others did too. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

"Some kind of temperature signature, it’s different from the Kaijus and the were-Alpha" he explained, with puzzling features.

"Y-You mean like the Colossal Kaiju?!" Raiden asked with a gulp still remembering the encounter they had with the other one.

"No" Hiro stated gaining their attention, he could feel it too, this wasn’t a colossal Kaiju or the Queen Kaiju, this was different entirely.

"The temperature signature... it’s just like ours"

Stunned expressions covered their faces at Hiro’s words.

"W-What do you mean? Y-You, mean like us?" Kaneki stammered.

Hiro got off his Hellhound walking towards a road.

"Hiro!" Shino called coming off his. "We have to stay together!" he rushed after him.

Yuki got down hers rushing towards them too.

"Really?" Mosu said with a sigh doing the same, Mirai, Kaneki, Mizuki, Sumi, Ren and Raiden did the same too.

Hiro came to a halt and they did too, Shino’s eyes went wide in horror.

"This is..."

"It’s a cocoon," Yuki said sternly. "The exact same one we were found in"

Before them... were several cocoons formed in a straight line and pointing to a particular direction, red in color embodied with black vein, giving loud pulsing sounds.

"You mean, within this.. is a... is a Bio-genetics just like us?" Mosu said with trembling eyes.

Mirai covered her mouth, her eyes shaking. "All this time they have been here"

"The search team couldn’t come here after the accident three years ago, they must have thought it was just 100 cocoons, but there are more," Ren said sternly.

"Well, are they still alive?" Sumi asked.

Hiro squats placing his palm on the cocoon. "Yes... I can feel them, but"

"B-But what?" Mizuki asked.

"Their life force is being drained, I can feel it"

Raiden’s eyes scanned the direction they were all leading to. "You think it’s the Queen?"

"It could be, who else but her" Mirai said.

"That’s why she was quiet, that’s why she used Dr. Kanta to do her bidding," Hiro said with trembling eyes. "She has been asleep all this time, using the bio-genetics asleep within this as energies"

"You mean all this time we have been fighting the Queen Kaiju while she has been asleep?" Mizuki said with widen eyes of horror.

Shino’s teeth clenched, he brought out a shrunk arrow from his pouch, it became full length instantly, he fused it with his blood before using the tip to pierce the cocoon but it only gave a loud pulsing sound and did not come apart, but the arrowhead broke apart.

"I guess we can’t get them out not until we defeat the Queen" Shino said sternly.

"The second one," Yuki said suddenly.

"W-What?" Mosu said tensing at her words.

Yuki turned in alert drawing her twin Katana. "The second Colossal Kaiju... it’s coming!"

*Loud Thud Footstep*

"You have got to be kidding me there’s another one?" Kaneki panicked they all looked above seeing the Colossal Kaiju marching towards them in a distance.

A 200 feet Kaiju, shaped like a were-Alpha but different with blue gills embodied on the body, generating steams like it was overheating.

"I don’t sense Alpha’s or Were-Alpha’s just the colossal Kaiju!" Ren yelled checking his watch.

"This is the Queen’s last Guardian" Yuki stated.

The Colossal Kaiju came to a halt just miles away from them.

"I see," Hiro said faintly with a dark expression rising to his feet. "We destroy this and then we find the Queen"

"Hiro doesn’t do anything reckless, we have to stick together!" Shino snapped at him knowing he was about to do something out of order.

"You better listen to commander Shino" Sumi snapped, they can’t afford anyone acting out of order but Hiro had other plans.

"Forgive me, commander Shino..." Hiro began as his bio-genetics come to the surface. The iris color changed to bright crystal blue like a diamond mixed with light and dark shades with a hint of red lines in it, forming a crack moving around, the pupil darkens more and extends. Thick veins at the corners of his eyes.

"...I’m going against your orders!"

"HIRO!" Shino shouted but it was too late, Hiro has already zapped out in speed.

"He’s going to get himself killed!" Mosu growled. "We have no choice we have to-"

Yuki already zapped after Hiro.

"What is it with both of them and not following orders!" Mosu growled once again with white eyes.

’After this obstacle’ Hiro thought as more dark blue energy swirled around him. ’Is the Queen!’

With one foot on the ground, Hiro zapped up into the air. "AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!" he gave a loud battle cry sound charging at the Colossal Kaiju, and it was at the very moment it directed the energy beam at him.

Hiro sensed this coming and pulled the energy form of his sword, revealing a second one but blue in color.

"AAAAAAAHHHHH" he cut through the energy that came forth at him, it slammed into his swords which he crossed just right before him but this energy wasn’t like Alpha energy or a were-Alpha, this was different and intense, before he knew it he was blown out of place and reaching for the ground in a hard impact.

But Yuki was suddenly behind him using her elbow to brace him, they slammed the ground but they were still on their feet sliding backward until they came to a halt.

Hiro drew harsh breaths as well as Yuki, before them was the source of their attempts to stay on their feet, a wide cater of destruction.

"Don’t go running off on your own Hiro, we do this together understand?!" Shino said suddenly beside him.

Hiro’s fist clenched.

"We came here to fight together, remember that," Kaneki said stepping forward.

"We’re all gonna avenge General Anzai’s death as well as the others, so don’t go off your own" Mosu said.

Hiro’s blind orbs shook at his words.

"Together," Mirai said.

"Together," Mizuki said.

"Together and get that in your head," Sumi said.

"Together," Raiden said facing the target.

"Together Hiro" Ren said.

"Together," Yuki said behind him.

Hiro’s lips were in a thin line but they formed a smile. He dragged himself off the ground.

"Together!"
