The Beautiful CEO's Dragon Blood Bodyguard-Chapter 624 - 0: The Legendary Ninja
Chapter 624: Chapter 0624: The Legendary Ninja
Two murder cases, one involving the son of the Director of the Education Bureau, and the other the son of a well-known local entrepreneur.
The police station was rocked by the news, and Director Wei Dongming assigned Ding Xue to handle the investigation with a deadline.
Ding Xue was frustrated. She had always wanted to be a criminal police officer. Now that she had achieved her wish, she felt unbearably exhausted.
Each case was a mystery, maddeningly complex and thorny.
If it weren’t for Long Fei’s presence, she feared she wouldn’t be able to hold on.
After a busy day, as the skies began to darken, they finally sat down in a rice noodle shop.
Long Fei handed her a quail egg, comforting her, "Eat your meal properly. Don’t put so much pressure on yourself. If you collapse, how will you continue to investigate?"
Ding Xue took a moody bite and raised her eyebrows at him, "Do you have any leads?"
Long Fei shook his head and shared some information with her, "This case might be related to Dongying people, but it’s unclear what their motives are, where they are hiding, or whether they will strike again."
Ding Xue asked curiously, "According to my investigation, Yang Hao and Yang Jie were apprentices of Dongying people. I heard that a Dongying expert came over, and they even hosted him once. Why would the Dongying people want to kill them?"
"Maybe, they have something they don’t want the two to divulge!"
Long Fei analyzed but couldn’t figure out why the Anpei Family would take action.
Logically speaking, it should be the Hemao Family making a move if any.
Ding Xue banged her head against the table, feeling utterly clueless about how to even report such a bizarre case.
After eating, the pair headed home together.
Ding Xue drove her jeep while Long Fei sat in the passenger seat, checking in with Lin Yingying about the situation.
Lin Yingying had been there at the time.
With Mu Qingzhu accompanying her, Long Fei believed the Japanese should be wary.
They passed by Binhai University and were about to turn into a lane up ahead.
Ding Xue suddenly hit the brakes, exclaiming in surprise, "That’s odd, why did the streetlight ahead suddenly go out?"
Long Fei looked up and saw darkness engulfing the view through the windshield, making it impossible to see anything.
He frowned and said, "It’s not the streetlight that’s gone out, it’s that you’ve driven into an Array."
"Array?"
Ding Xue was astonished, anxiously asking, "What do we do now?"
Long Fei smiled lightly, "It’s just a minor Array, nothing to fear!"
The Array worked like a ghost hitting the wall, merely using an Array to block out all light in the surroundings.
As he was speaking, a Dongying Longsword pierced through the door of the jeep with a ’whoosh.’
The blade was sharp, aiming straight for Ding Xue’s neck.
"I’ve been waiting for you!"
Long Fei grunted and grabbed the blade, crashing out of the vehicle.
The steel door crumpled like tofu before him.
The attacker reacted quickly, immediately throwing the longsword and trying to blend into the darkness.
Long Fei’s spiritual power had already locked onto him; there was no chance he could escape.
He grasped the Dongying Longsword and plunged it into the man’s right arm, pinning him against the wall behind.
The Tai’a Sword flew out of his Storage Ring and stabbed down fiercely at a spot.
With a ’poof,’ the surrounding darkness vanished, revealing the true scene.
Against the wall of a residential house, a man dressed in black was pinned by the Dongying Longsword, a trickle of blood running down the blade.
He stared at Long Fei in disbelief, as if he’d seen a ghost.
"Are you from the Hemao Family?"
Long Fei asked him.
The man rambled on incoherently, cursing in an unknown language.
Long Fei pressed further, "An Anpei Family member?"
The black-clothed individual, dressed like a Ninja, suddenly fell silent, his eyes darting around before his head slumped forward.
Dead!
Long Fei hastily tore off his mask, noticing the fresh blood on his lips, a clear sign of poisoning.
He inwardly sighed, thinking that the little devil was quite resolute.
Given his black attire, he must be one of the legendary Ninja!
Just now, one had engaged the enemy while the other attempted to assassinate.
The one who engaged was severely injured by the shock of Long Fei’s Tai’a Sword, but managed to escape at the crucial moment.
Ding Xue shivered as she stepped out of the car, swallowing hard as she stared at the Ninja on the wall. She had been mere moments away from having her throat pierced.
Long Fei pulled out the longsword, and the Ninja’s body thudded to the ground.
He searched the Ninja’s body, finding only some concealed weapons like throwing darts, with no identification whatsoever.
According to Old Man Mu, they became nameless upon joining the Ninja organization, known only by their codenames in daily life.
Long Fei exhaled deeply and conjured a flame to burn the body into ashes.
Ding Xue looked on, wide-eyed and anxious, "Why burn it? We could have investigated him, maybe find out some clues!"
Long Fei shook his head, "It’s not that simple. These people don’t have any sort of paper trail, nothing to investigate. And even if you could, how would you report this to your superiors? Say they were Dongying Ninja? Do you think they would believe you?"
Ding Xue thought it over and it seemed somewhat reasonable.
She rubbed her forehead, troubled, "So what do we do now?"
"Let’s head back home first!"
Long Fei had already guessed someone and intended to do some investigating.
Ding Xue drove her convertible, taking Long Fei back to the rental house.
Come dawn, the car still needed repairs.
Long Fei and Ding Xue went straight up to the third floor, where they found Lin Yingying meditating and Lin Shanshan working on her laptop.
Upon seeing them, both Lin sisters immediately got up.
Long Fei briefed Lin Yingying on the situation, and she asked, anxious, "How are things now?"
Long Fei gestured for Ding Xue to sit down and sighed, "Both are dead."
Lin Yingying frowned in shock, "Did Hemao Zhengxiong’s people do this?"
Long Fei shook his head, "Doesn’t seem like it. The methods don’t match."
Lin Yingying cursed, "These little devils are so cruel, not even sparing children."
Ding Xue listened in surprise, having not expected Lin Yingying to be so well-informed.
Long Fei instructed Lin Yingying, "You and Ding Xue go over yesterday’s events. I’ll be stepping out for a bit."
"Where are you going?"
They both asked in unison, their tones remarkably in sync.
Long Fei chuckled, "To look for clues, of course!"
With Bald Dog and Mu Qingzhu at home, those Ninja couldn’t stir up much trouble.
He left with ease, and took the Citroën to the Dongying Cuisine Restaurant beneath the Lin’s Group building.
The voice of the person who had ambushed them earlier sounded extremely similar to a woman’s.
Upon his arrival, he got out of the car and knelt to touch the ground at the entrance.
His finger stuck to something sticky—fresh blood.
His lips curled up slightly, pleased that Bald Dog’s blood had not been refined in vain.
After assimilating the strong canine olfactory genes, Long Fei felt his sense of smell had become a hundred times more sensitive.
The restaurant’s door was adorned with a sign that read ’temporarily closed’. Long Fei disregarded it, pushing the door open with one palm and barging in.
The furniture inside had been tampered with. As soon as Long Fei entered, a giant net opened above and came down over him.
The net, adorned with small bells at the corners, was being manipulated by four black-clad figures with ropes.
As the four landed, they swiftly pulled at the ropes, circling around Long Fei and closing the net tightly about him, wrapping him up securely.
