The Betrayed Heiress's Second Comeback-Chapter 67: Ch : On the Set
The next morning, both I and Damian got up early. It was one of the most important days for our business, so I did not want to be late.
"Are you ready to head out now?"
Damian asked, extending his hand toward me as we left the house. I took his offered hand before I followed him out.
We were currently headed toward the set where our company’s official first ad would be shot.
The kid I and Jason had scouted had finally given us a call and agreed to join. And just as it so happened, we got a perfect place to cast him as well. Now, we just needed to show the industry his presence.
"Yeah, let’s head out now. I am sure the kid must be scared. Let’s go and help him out."
I told Damian and we quickly headed to the set.
Just as I had expected, the handsome man looked startled and was not moving from his seat. His eyes kept looking around, trying to see if he could find a way out.
Finally, they lit up when he saw me, but became suspicious once more once he saw Damian behind me.
"Noah Park...it is an honor to meet the star of today’s show. If you need anything, please do not hesitate to let me know."
I quickly approached the young adult who was shuffling in his chair nervously.
"D-Do I really need a stage name? Can I not use my original name here?"
Noah asked, his voice nervous and agitated. He looked around, but quickly looked down as he noticed the presence of people around him.
He seemed like a timid man and the heated presence I had felt from him before was nowhere to be found.
And still, despite the fact that he was so nervous, it did not show in his body language. His face remained impassive and his back was held straight, making him look like a confident young man.
"I know it might be a little bit...uncomfortbale to use your new name, but it would be better for you. It signifies that you are ready to leave your old life behind and start anew...at least, that is what you will tell the world."
In reality, the new name was created for Noah because of his confusing set of IDs. Most of them had been fake, so we had to get him new ones for now.
"Alright. If you say so, then I will believe you..."
It was clear to see that Noah was uncomfortable with all this, but he still chose to sit down and trust me. His eyes kept moving toward Damian, likely to ask who this man was. Damian’s grip around me tightened and I knew it was finally time.
I decided to introduce the two to each other before something big happened.
"Ah, that reminds me. I should introduce you two to each other. Noah, this is Damian Black, my fiance. Damian, this here is Noah, the talent I found. He’s good-looking, right?"
I tried to joke around with Damian but his eyes blankly looked at the man sitting in the chair. I tried to elbow Damian to get him to pay attention, only for my arm to hurt.
’Darn it-! Why is Damian’s chest made to be this hard? Ugh, my elbow hurts.’
Since my actions were not getting through, I had no choice but to use my words.
"Damian, are you not going to greet Noah? He looks a little nervous to have you here."
I reminded Damian and he finally snapped out of whatever...daze he had been in and blinked at me before he looked at Noah.
A smile flashed on Damian’s face which gave me a bad feeling. But before I could say anything to him, he extended his hand toward Noah with a smile on his face.
"So you are the ’kid’ I have heard so much about? It is nice to meet you. I am Damian Black, Jenna’s ’fiance’. I hope we ’get along’ and I am sure we will, as long as we respect each other’s ’boundaries.’"
Poor Noah looked ready to cry. He kept looking at me, asking me what he should do. I knew that Damian could come across as scary at times so I quickly pushed him back a little.
This time, Damian decided to go with the flow and take a step back.
"Hahahaha...as you can tell, Damian is a little shy when it comes to meeting new people. But he is happy and excited for your debut as well. So good luck."
I told Noah and he nodded. We did not get to talk for much longer because he was called over by the director to explain some things.
’Finally, this meeting is over.’
I let out a sigh of relief, just as I felt arms sneak around my middle to pull me closer to a solid chest. Damian let out a sigh as he buried his face in my hair.
"Are you alright?"
I asked Damian, wanting to make sure he was fine. He mumbled something in my hair before he pulled his face up and looked at the man who just walked away.
"So, that’s the ’super-star level’ face you found? That kid is pretty for sure, but aren’t I more handsome in real life?"
Damian sounded as if he was sulking and I felt a chuckle escape my mouth. It made Damian look even more offended so I reassured him quickly.
"You are right. You are more handsome indeed. But I cannot have you act in movies for the sake of our company. Now, shall we check out the set a little more?"
I asked and Damian finally let go of me to follow me around.
He looked quite pleased with himself and my comment and I found him quite...cute despite the harsh look on this face.
’I did not think such a huge and rough man could be cute, but it seems as if I am wrong this time.’
