The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress-Chapter 751 - 792: Double Revenge
Adrian Desmond still hadn’t woken up; it seemed the gunshot wound was severe.
Thinking about this, Sienna Johnson felt even more resentful towards Adrian for taking a bullet for Elliot Carpenter. He had truly given his heart and soul to his uncle, even willing to sacrifice his own life.
Sienna now couldn’t wait to know how Adrian would feel when he woke up and found out that she had slept with Xavier Young to save his respected uncle.
If he made her suffer, she would make him suffer too! This was her revenge on Adrian!
...
Sienna was depressed and extremely exhausted. After having lunch in her room at noon, she felt listless and drowsy. Despite being in an unfamiliar environment, Sienna still managed to take a long nap.
She slept very soundly, waking up once before drifting back to sleep.
When she finally awoke, the room was bathed in the crimson glow of the sunset, and the view outside the window was a sea of red.
She blinked and saw Xavier Young sitting by her bed, staring at her intently. The sight startled her.
"Why are you here?"
She clearly remembered locking the door from the inside before she fell asleep.
"Are you tired? The servants said you slept all afternoon," he replied, not directly answering Sienna’s question.
Sienna had indeed been very tired lately. The recent events had taken a toll on her pregnancy, and she was overwhelmed with anxiety. Although she resented Adrian, he was, after all, her husband and the father of her child. How could she not worry about him?
"Since I’ve come back with you, can you release Elliot Carpenter now?" she asked.
Her voice was soft, like a feather brushing against his heart. He really wanted to kiss her, but remembering that man’s warning, Xavier restrained himself, no matter how much he desired her. Even without Adrian, this beautiful woman would not belong to him.
A shadow fell over his heart as he asked, "For Adrian’s sake, you seem willing to do anything."
"Just let him go."
"If I release Elliot Carpenter, would you be willing to stay with me?"
Sienna remained silent.
"You still want to go back to Adrian, don’t you?" Xavier looked at Sienna, a hint of danger in his eyes.
"I want to go back to Sileria City."
"Sileria City?"
"Yes, my home." Sienna lay on the bed, gazing out the window, her eyes misty with a faint hint of melancholy.
"I’ve never been there."
His tone seemed to imply he was waiting for Sienna to invite him to Sileria City with her, but she disappointed him.
"I’m hungry. Can you join me for dinner?" Sienna said to Xavier. She got up, still wearing the same wrinkled clothes she had arrived in.
"Of course."
As they went downstairs, Xavier took the initiative to hold Sienna’s hand. She was reluctant and struggled a few times, but when she couldn’t break free, she let him.
They went downstairs hand in hand. Busy servants were bustling about. The guards hadn’t entered the house, which reassured Sienna somewhat.
Sienna pretended to survey the house, wondering if her bodyguards had also managed to get inside with her. But then again, she could no longer trust those incompetent bodyguards. If Adrian could be taken by them, so could she.
What Sienna didn’t know was that Adrian’s bodyguards had all died protecting them. Otherwise, Adrian, having been shot, might already be dead.
...
The dining room was just as luxurious, with crystal chandeliers, a long table, and golden candlesticks holding lit candles. They sat at opposite ends of the long table, and to Sienna, Xavier’s face appeared indistinct in the candlelight.
"I’ve always wanted to have a candlelight dinner with you."
Anyone who knew her even slightly would know she didn’t like Western food at all. She looked up, across the long expanse of the table, wanting to ask him: You don’t even know me, so how can you talk about loving me? She considered it but didn’t voice the question. Romance was out of the question between them.
"Do you like it?"
"I’m not picky."
She had grown up poor and never had the luxury of being willful. So, even if she didn’t like Western food, she would eat anything when she was hungry.
"I’ve already released Elliot Carpenter."
Sienna’s hand paused; she hadn’t expected him to release Elliot so readily. "Thank you."
"He’s just an insignificant person. If it weren’t for you, I might have killed him."
"Since he’s insignificant, why bother killing him and dirtying your hands?"
"Sienna, my hands are already dirty."
Sienna stared at the steak on her plate, silent for a long while.
"Actually, I’m not very fond of Western restaurants myself," Xavier confessed.
"There’s nothing particularly good about Western food," Sienna replied.
"You’re right, there isn’t. I still think Abyanabad cuisine is the best. Next time, I’ll have Abyanabad food prepared for you. Would you like that?"
She wouldn’t like it at all! Abyanabad food was generally sweet, and she disliked sweet dishes.
"I prefer Orientan food the most."
"Then I’ll have Landon find an Orientan chef for you."
Sienna put a small piece of steak into her mouth, chewing slowly. Her posture was graceful and elegant. Xavier stopped eating and simply sat there, watching her silently, captivated.
Under Xavier’s intense gaze, it took Sienna an hour to finish her meal.
After dinner, they had fruit and watched TV.
Sienna couldn’t understand the Himakati Language at all, so for her, watching TV was quite literally just "watching" the images on the screen.
Xavier’s mind clearly wasn’t on the television either, so the two of them absentmindedly watched an episode of a Himakati drama.
After dawdling like this, it was finally bedtime. Sienna yawned and said to Xavier, "I’m sleepy and going to bed. You can keep watching if you want."
"There’s nothing interesting to watch."
Xavier also stood up. Sienna’s heart involuntarily skipped a beat, though she maintained a calm expression. She was terrified that Xavier would try to force himself on her. If he truly intended to, she knew she wouldn’t be able to stop him.
She gently touched her belly. Her baby had moved a little today, but it was much quieter than it had been recently, almost as if it were unwell. If circumstances allowed, Sienna desperately wanted to go to an obstetrics and gynecology department for another check-up.
"Why are you still standing there? Aren’t you going to bed?" Xavier asked.
I’m going to sleep, so why are you following me? Sienna thought.
"Are you going to bed too?" she asked aloud. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
"Yes!"
Sienna didn’t dare ask any more questions, afraid she wouldn’t be able to handle the answers.
When they reached her bedroom door, Xavier stopped as well. There was no avoiding it. Sienna said, "Thank you for walking me back. I’m going to rest now. Goodnight."
"Goodnight!"
Sienna pushed open the door and calmly walked inside. Turning, she closed the door. Only when she saw that Xavier hadn’t followed her in did she lean against the door panel and let out a long sigh of relief.
KNOCK, KNOCK...
