The Billionaire's Hidden Affection-Chapter 629 - 626: Missing 3_1
She couldn’t know the thoughts swirling in his mind. Soft jade, warm fragrance... He’d never held anyone so comfortable. Her whole body felt like cream, every inch soft and smooth, delicate and gentle, so perfect there wasn’t a single flaw. Loving her was like sinking into a pile of cotton, completely unable to pull himself free. This was a pleasure he had never found in any other woman. Perhaps, from their very first hug, this joy had seeped into his very marrow. Back then, the lovely girl was still as cold as ice, yet he had already felt infinite joy. Now, she was like warm, fragrant jade, even more comfortable and sweet. He’d long since realized that he always slept best when he was with her. When he was alone, he would toss and turn, no matter how upscale the hotel or how luxurious the villa. He rarely slept soundly until morning. This girl... she was his sleeping pill.
His large hand slid down her body. When it brushed against the bruise on her smooth thigh, he immediately slowed, his touch becoming incredibly light. Damn it! Just thinking about the danger from earlier today was unbearable.
His heart ached for her. "Does it still hurt?"
She grimaced. "It’s killing me."
"Don’t go anywhere for the next few days. Just rest up at home."
"Will you stay and keep me company?"
He was surprised. "Are you trying to bargain with me?"
"HEE HEE, if you stay with me, I’ll stay home. If you don’t, I’ll just wander off everywhere."
He was speechless. She, however, laughed. "It’s nothing. I’ve had worse injuries than this before. It’ll heal quickly."
He glared at her. "Then was then, now is now."
"What’s the difference?"
"Before, that body was yours. Now, it’s mine. So, of course, it needs to be well taken care of."
She giggled again.
His large hand shifted, pulling her even tighter until they were melded completely together. Her smooth, creamy skin formed a vivid contrast with his sturdy physique. Her hand roamed over his back, giving a gentle squeeze. His bronzed skin covers such hard, powerful muscles, yet, surprisingly, his hands aren’t rough at all. Instead, they have a gentle softness.
"MMH... MMH... You big brute, you’re smothering me..."
He loosened his grip slightly.
"Xixi, were you terrified yesterday?"
She nodded honestly, then shook her head. "I’m not scared at all now."
"Why?"
"Because your skills are amazing! With you protecting me, why should I be afraid? Hey, big brute, you’ll be my bodyguard from now on."
He chuckled. "You wish! Do you think you can afford a bodyguard as expensive as me?"
She pouted. "How much do you charge?"
"Anyway, you can’t afford me."
"PFFT. What’s so unaffordable? Worst case, I’ll offer myself to you."
He roared with laughter, but his smile was tinged with fatigue. She didn’t even have a chance to tease him further before he fell fast asleep beside her.
He looks so haggard while he sleeps, as if revealing an anxiety he can’t quite conceal. I’m no idiot. Having come from a background of swindlers, I have a keen sense for danger. I already suspect there’s more to last night’s car accident than meets the eye. He must have been up all night investigating it. It was a terrifying event, yet, strangely, I’m not afraid at all now. Lying beside him, I feel completely safe, as if nothing could harm me, even if the sky itself were to fall. To think of how he protected me last night...
She gazed at him, her eyes growing even more tender.
