The Billionaire's Temptation: Love, Family and Revenge-Chapter 76: Do You Trust Me?
Elena slowly opened her eyes after a long night’s sleep. She stretched her body gently, only to feel something stopping her movement. Confused, she blinked a few times and looked around. To her surprise, she found herself wrapped in the arms of a man.
Startled, she quickly closed her eyes again, hoping that he hadn’t noticed her small movements. She hadn’t seen his face clearly yet, but there was no mistaking who it was. She could recognize him by the scent of his cologne, it was definitely Ford.
Trying to stay calm, Elena took slow, quiet breaths. She waited patiently for a while, listening closely to see if he stirred. When she was sure that he was still asleep, she slowly opened her eyes again, this time taking a closer look at him.
He looked as handsome as ever, maybe even more so in his sleep. His face was relaxed and peaceful, and Elena found herself admiring how calm he looked. She noticed something strange, he didn’t snore at all. She had never really paid attention to that before, and it made her smile.
There was something comforting and beautiful about the way he held her. One of his arms was under the pillow she had been sleeping on, while the other rested gently at the back of her head. His hold was protective, almost as if he was keeping her safe even in his sleep. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
As she continued gazing at him, a sudden memory flashed in her mind. She remembered something that had poked her belly during the night. Realization struck her, and she looked up at his face again. She remembered that, in that moment, she had leaned in to kiss him.
Covering her mouth in embarrassment, she whispered to herself, "Did I actually reach for his lips? Did we Kiss?" The thought made her blush deeply, and she bit her lower lip shyly.
Her eyes drifted lower, noticing his manhood slightly up, not as firm as she had felt the other night, but still visible. Blushing harder, she quickly turned her eyes away, feeling shy and unsure of how to deal with what she had seen. Still, the thought lingered in her mind.
Wanting to avoid waking him up, she carefully started to remove herself from his arms. She moved slowly, making sure not to disturb him. Finally, she stood up quietly, smiling to herself. She felt more energized than she had in the past few days. Though there was still some pain in her body, it wasn’t too bad, she could manage it.
Bending down beside Ford again, Elena felt a strong urge to touch him one more time. She gently brushed away a few strands of hair that had fallen across his forehead, making sure not to wake him up. She smiled softly, proud of her little success.
But something inside her wanted more. His lips looked so tempting, and she couldn’t resist anymore. Leaning in, she placed a soft kiss on his cheek. Then, quickly pulling away, she quietly walked to the balcony, eager to feel the warm rays of the early morning sun on her skin.
Elena stepped onto the balcony, a soft breeze brushing her skin. The early morning sun bathed the world in a golden light that made everything shimmer with a quiet beauty. For the first time in days, she felt truly awake.
She smiled gently, wrapping her arms around herself. It had been too long since she’d watched the sun rise like this, she couldn’t hold back her joy.
Down below in the garden, two servants passed by and looked up, surprised to see her standing there. Their eyes lit up, and they smiled brightly, calling up gentle greetings. "Good morning, Miss Elena! So good to see you up!"
Elena waved back, feeling her heart warm at their kind expressions. She realized in that moment how deeply she had missed everyone. Fords house, the beautiful garden in which she looked upon the servants even Morgan the butler.
After a few more minutes breathing in the fresh air, she stepped back inside. She picked up a robe, wrapping it over her silk nightdress, about to leave she took a last gaze at the sleeping Ford who layed on her bed before quietly making her way out of the room.
Each step down the grand staircase caused her little pains. Her legs still ached faintly, but she could manage. She trailed her hand lightly along the carved wooden rail, the cool touch grounding her.
At the bottom of the stairs, Morgan the butler was moving across to catch a sight of her. His eyes widened in delight. "Miss Elena!" he exclaimed, hurrying forward. "My word! It is truly good to see you on your feet again."
Elena chuckled softly. "Good morning, Morgan You make it sound like I came back from the dead."
Morgan shook his head, beaming. "You may as well have, miss. The house has felt cold without you. Can I get you anything?, You shouldn’t have stressed yourself with coming down". He asked in worry.
"Sorry Morgan, but I just needed to stretch myself out. A coffee, please. Something warm and strong," she said with a small smile.
Morgan nodded respectfully. "Of course Miss Elena"
Soon, she was seated at the long dining table, a steaming cup of dark roast placed gently in front of her. The smell alone gave her comfort. She wrapped her hands around the cup, savoring its warmth.
Ford stirred upstairs,He reached out instinctively to pull Elena closer, only to find the space beside him empty and warm. His eyes blinked open slowly, adjusting to the morning light pouring in from the windows.
He yawned deeply, rubbing his hand over his face. A glance at the clock told him it was a few minutes past seven. He sat up, feeling the slight stiffness in his back from sleeping in the same position all night. But his first thought was of Elena.
He stood and walked to the balcony, noticing the open doors, the lingering warmth in the sheets. She had been here. But she was gone now.
A strange mix of worry and admiration filled him. She must’ve gotten up on her own. That was a good sign, she was recovering. But the timing wasn’t great. He had hoped to wake up before her to monitor her movements. But he didn’t worry much he had already told Morgan how to handle everything in case Elena begins to ask questions.
Checking himself on the mirrow, he couldn’t help but smile on remembering Elena’s actions the past night. Gently putting on his footwear, he left the room, padding down the hallway and descending the stairs. As he rounded the corner, he spotted her at the dining table, coffee in hand, Morgan standing beside her Smiling as she spoke to him.
She looked happy, he could notice a change. She looked more agile, he missed that about her.
"Elena," Ford called softly.
Hearing Fords masculine tone she turned immediately, beeming with smiles.
"Morning," she said blushing.
Ford walked over, his heart easing a bit at the sight of her. "You’re up. You’re walking. That’s... amazing, but you shouldn’t stress yourself much."
Elena nodded. "I won’t, it Feels good to breathe outside a room again." She said happily.
Now he was close to her, reaching to her lips without notice he planted a soft kiss on them. Elena smiled at his gesture. It made her feel special.
Taking a seat he sat beside Elena, she had dropped her coffee on the table. She felt so shy that she had to play with her fingers.
"Are you that shy?" He asked teasing her. Reaching for her hands he held unto them.
"I missed you being so happy and agile like this" he confessed staring at her in admiration.
He kissed her hands, he knew he needed to tell her all that was happening, if he didn’t someone or somehow she was going to find out and it was not going to end well.
His chest was tight. He had rehearsed everything he wanted to say, but now that the moment was here, his words were stuck behind the weight of uncertainty.
"Elena," he started again, voice low, "there’s something I need to explain. About that Last night. About everything that’s been happening."
She looked at him, blushing, "Was it about the kiss? Didnt he like it? She couldn’t help but wonder.
But she remained calm but clearly curious. Her eyes were wide, waiting for what he wanted to say.
"I tried to protect you, Even before anything happened. I knew there were people watching, digging. I thought if I just handled it, kept it quiet, you’d be safe."
Were the words he wished to tell her at the moment he he just couldnt. He didn’t want anything to take away the peaceful moment they were having, or the joy he had just seen on her face.
Elena’s gaze didn’t move from his face, she waited for him to say some words but all he could do was stare.
Something felt off, was it still about what she was thinking or was there something else?
Looking closely at him she could see the worry in his eyes.
Elena reached out slowly and placed her hand over his face. "Ford, Is everything alright?what are you not saying?"
Ford looked down at their hands. Her palms were warm, gentle. He wanted to tell her everything: the threats, the people following her, the footage someone had leak, the fake videos, But how could he drop all of that on her now, when she was just beginning to heal?
Taking them back on his hand, He took a breath, then shook his head slightly. "Elena Lugard, Do you trust me?"
