Chapter 721: Chapter 442 Magic Tower_2

Tonight I still don’t know where to stay... not to mention whether the Pansai City Council has arranged accommodations for us wizards from afar.

One would assume they have, considering that it’s one of the Nine Great Miracle Cities. They shouldn’t be that stingy.

Facing Sapona’s mockery, Andy didn’t take it too seriously, simply saying indifferently,

"Unlike some arrogant fools, I don’t care about status, power, or even looks when making friends — it’s all based on preference."

"Hah, mediocre flowers always flock together, but only the king amongst flowers can exist near another king. Some fools will never understand this principle!"

Sapona was not about to show weakness either and retorted coldly.

But in contrast to Andy’s indifferent attitude, his tone was clearly much more angry, apparently really provoked.

"Don’t just talk, you two! Have another duel!" Some wizards, who were walking slowly and had stopped because of the quarrel, shouted now, enjoying the escalation of the dispute.

"Who won last time again?"

"I think it was Andy."

"And the time before that?"

"Sapona, I believe."

These wizards, born into Pansai City’s top Pureblood Families, were all too familiar with the long-standing feud.

They had even almost forgotten the original reason why the two had taken a dislike to each other.

But if they had to side with one, it would naturally be Sapona.

Andy... was simply an anomaly among the Pureblood Wizards.

If not for his fair strength, they wouldn’t even bother associating with him.

Colin, meanwhile, had figured out the situation and couldn’t help but smile wryly to himself. He politely said to Andy, "I have matters to attend to, so I’ll take my leave now. Thank you for speaking up earlier."

"Sure, see you around if fate wills it." Andy nodded lightly.

Life is so dull, and people are so boring. What’s the point of living if you’re constantly restrained?

"Sapona, has the injury on your backside healed?"

Watching Colin leave, Andy then turned to look at Sapona with "concern," a smile playing on his lips.

Seeing this, Sapona indeed became furious, his face turning red with anger as he shouted,

"The Miracle Meeting starts tomorrow. If you dare, see who can climb higher in the Magic Tower!"

"That’s exactly what I intend." Andy grinned happily, then stood up and walked away alone.

Sapona stayed where he was, his face clouded with anger.

He truly had no fondness for Andy. Although he didn’t wish to put him to death, if Andy were to die suddenly, he would only applaud and exclaim how gratifying it was.

Regrettably, in such conflicts, the Families usually did not intervene and would certainly not lend a hand; seeking revenge was entirely up to him.

However, he had to admit that Andy’s Talent was definitely not inferior to his; their many duels had ended with varying outcomes.

"That Andy, he really shames the face of us Pureblood Wizards! Sapona, you must thoroughly defeat him tomorrow!"

"Exactly, come to conquer our Family’s Magic Tower, I can help you."

Sapona, seeing the wizards approaching him with offers, smiled and said, "Thank you, I will definitely make Andy pay tomorrow!"

Regardless, at least in terms of popularity, Andy absolutely couldn’t compare to him.

The people Andy associated with were all a disordered bunch, from aged prostitutes to wandering poets spouting nonsense to reckless con men... These people would be doing well not to cause him trouble, let alone provide him with any support.

Sapona smirked internally and smilingly said to the wizards nearby,

"Then I’ll count on you all tomorrow. I hear the Staney Family can no longer tolerate Andy’s dissolute behavior. This time we can lead him back to the right path!"

...

By the time Colin reached the Supreme Council Hall of Pansai City, it was already midday.

Compared with the distinctively styled buildings in town, this Council Hall wasn’t much different from the ones in Neustadt City.

Thanks to this, Colin entered as if on familiar ground.

"Colin, what a coincidence, I didn’t expect you to come this early."

In the lobby on the first floor, Colin unexpectedly encountered Ryden and his entourage.

"It’s a long journey, so it’s better to arrive a bit early. If any mishaps occur, there’s still a chance to remedy them."

"That’s true," Ryden replied with a smile, then pointed to the wizards beside him, introducing each one: "This is my mentor Test, whom you should have met before, and this man is Cliff, my uncle..."

There were more than ten people in Ryden’s group. As Ryden introduced them, Colin greeted them in turn.

The wizards responded just as friendly.

"Merredith was able to safely overcome the farmland pollution crisis, thanks to your excellency."

Colin waved his hand and laughed, "I just did what needed to be done."

After a brief exchange of pleasantries, the group set out together. Only then did Colin notice another wizard behind them, who appeared to be a staff member of the Supreme Council from Pansai City.

"For all the wizards attending the Miracle Meeting, the Supreme Council of Pansai City has prepared specialized accommodations. However, before that, all your excellencies need to follow me upstairs to register and select your preferred lodging location," said the staff member, leading the way to the second floor.

Ryden slowed his pace to walk at the back with Colin and asked:

"Did your excellency just arrive in Pansai City?"

"I’ve been here since dawn," responded Colin, shaking his head.

"Oh, if you’ve arrived so early, why did you only come to the hall now?"

"I went to tour around Pansai City for a while." Colin paused before suddenly asking, "Does your excellency know about the King Blossom?"

"Are you talking about the special magically-altered creature within the territory of Pansai?"

"Not just that," Colin shook his head. "I witnessed a performance today..."

He described the specially modified King Blossom he saw earlier in the day to Ryden.

"I think I know what you’re talking about," the latter nodded. "That must be the Staney Family’s enterprise; they are extremely adept at transforming witches’ puppets with witchcraft."

"It’s not just the transformation of the King Blossom, but also that of mechanical creations, various Demon Beasts, and even Elemental Life. They all have their corresponding transformation witchcraft.

If you’re curious, you’ll be able to see it tomorrow at the Miracle Meeting," Ryden offered.

Colin nodded, then asked, "Last time your excellency left in a hurry, and I have many unanswered questions."

"Go ahead."

"How long does the Miracle Meeting usually last?"

"Typically one week, though it can occasionally be extended. Mainly because some wizards might stay in a Magic Tower beyond a week, but the longest doesn’t exceed ten days, and then the Miracle Meeting will conclude."

"Magic Tower?" Colin was confused.

"I forgot to mention, at the Miracle Meeting, the first two days are usually focused on demonstrating to all wizards the most advanced and representative witchcraft research selected by each Miracle City.

From the third day onwards, such centralized demonstrations cease, and free exchanges begin," Ryden explained, organizing his words.

"Starting from the third day, every Family eligible to participate in the Miracle Meeting will set up Magic Towers.

These Magic Towers are not real towers, but virtually constructed via special methods."

"Each power’s Magic Tower may have different numbers of floors, but each level will contain one or several special challenges, usually in the field of witchcraft that the power excels in.

Passing the corresponding challenge allows one to gain the knowledge behind it. Moreover, due to the conventions of the Miracle Meeting, the knowledge in the Magic Tower is usually quite valuable."

"Even more importantly, every wizard participating in the Miracle Meeting is entitled to attempt any power’s Magic Tower without any impediment!" Ryden said with a smile, and concluded, "This is why I told you that at the Miracle Meeting, as long as you meet the conditions, you can gain knowledge."

"I see," Colin finally dispelled the doubts in his heart.

It couldn’t be helped; after all, he had never participated in a Miracle Meeting, and without Nois or Shelley’s mentors around, he really had no way to learn about the Miracle Meeting.

The Staner Family... He quietly noted this information.

If he got the chance, he would attempt their Magic Tower.

After all... opportunities to gain knowledge of witchcraft for free were scarce.

If he still had the energy, he would venture into a few more interesting Magic Towers later on.
