Whoosh!

Leon appeared in a dark cavern with a flash of light. Immediately, he sent out several fireballs to the distance while summoning his most powerful summons. He also pulled out a few dozen millipedes, as he wanted to see if he could push them to A rank. It seemed their potential had finally been tapped out, but he needed to know what would happen when when they finally reached the maximum level of their current evolution.

"Hmm, quite strange." Leon hummed as he looked around, examining the illuminated cavern. The name of the dungeon that they had been transported to was the Labyrinth of Madness. It was an immense underground labyrinth that was many kilometers long, and several more deep. It would take days to completely explore the entire place, and that was without the threat of powerful monsters and getting lost in the winding caverns and tunnels.

The dungeon was populated by vast and diverse amounts of A rank monsters. Even the weakest A rank monster would be an absolute menace to Leon's weaker summons.

"The air reeks of Unholy energy. I can feel my mana churning within my core." Kaladin said and spread his arms wide, taking in the Unholy energy that filled the air around him.

"Of course. We are close to the center of the Demon Continent, so the concentration of Unholy energy is much higher than most other places." Leon nodded. He could also feel the boost that the Unholy energy gave him. It was as if a passive buff had been applied to him.

'If I am buffed, then that would mean all other Demons and monsters from here will thrive in this environment.' He thought to himself as his summons checked out the cavern.

"This is a highly restricted dungeon. Only special people can come in here. That means plenty of valuable resources can be found in here." Leon told his summons as they sniffed around. Only moments after speaking, one of the millipedes alerted Leon and came running back with a green gem held within its mandibles. The green gem was alight with mana in Leon's vision, sparking his interest.

"This... Is an attributed mana crystal. And its attribute is that of the element of Earth!" Leon deduced as he took the crystal into his grasp. The attributed mana crystal was the only one of its kind there in the cavern, but there were many other medium grade mana crystals scattered around. A good number of them held Unholy energy within them.

"This place is a gold mine! If I can have this under me, then I would be much more well off! No wonder Michael said ownership of it will be enough to satisfy me!" Leon's eye sockets glowed with greed. While the military strength and levels he could gain was quite impressive, Leon's greed did not fail to be stoked when it came to other material things that could net him a fine profit! 𝙛𝔯𝒆e𝔀e𝗯𝓷𝗼𝘃e𝚕.𝒄𝗼𝗺

Leon did not linger in this initial space. There was only a single attributed mana crystal there, so spending more time there would be wasteful. He and his summons quickly gathered themselves and moved forward.

The group immediately encountered a lone monster after leaving the entrance of the dungeon.

Grrr?

The biped demonic beast with black, cracked skin growled in confusion as it sensed the approaching group. It spun around and its head twisted at an almost impossible angle as it let out a screech before rushing right at Leon and the others.

Leon raised his hand and his fingers glowed with purple as he manipulated the gravity around the creature, creating a small gravity field that caused the creature to begin floating and lose its grip on the floor.

The sudden change in the gravity of the space caused the monster to lose its coordination for a few precious moments, and that was all it took for Leon to swing his sword and cut it into numerous pieces.

[Level 11 Demonic Humanoid killed.]

'Hmm, pretty little.' Leon thought to himself as he took note of the lifeforce that was converted into experience. While he had always been able to monitor the amount of experience he got from a kill, he was able to examine the finer details to an even greater extent now.

Leon raised his hand and reached out to grasp onto the soul of the dead Demonic being, but he was met with something strange.

"What? My power can't raise it?!" Leon gasped. This was the second time that he was coming across something like this. Much like the resistance that he had felt when trying to summon Londo, he was also unable to raise the dead Demonic Humanoid and turn it into his minion.

[The summoning has failed!]

Leon tried again and again as he leveraged he power of his Supreme Skill, but finally, he had met his match.

"..." Leon held his chin in thought and tried to leverage his power in a different way. He grabbed onto the lingering soul that he was using his magic to sustain and drew it into his core.

Whoosh!

A cold, but refreshing wave of energy passed through Leon as his body was strengthened by the soul that he had just absorbed.

"So, I can't raise it, but I can absorb it, huh?" He hummed. "Alright, this is how we are going to do things." Leon turned to his summons. "You guys can handle most of the killing. I will just take the souls."

"Yes, Master." They acknowledged his words, whether with their own, or other signs of acknowledgement.

Leon wanted to max out his level quickly, but the fact that they were in an A rank dungeon assured him that he would have his chance. Not to mention the fact that the Labyrinth of Madness was insanely huge. It held a great number of monsters within it. Surely, they would be enough to support the levels of the entire crew. Not to mention the fact that the monsters respawned rather quickly thanks to the Twin Cores of the dungeon.

"Hehehe. I will come out of here a different man!" Leon chuckled deeply under his breath.
