The Blade Of God-Chapter 64: The Gap Of The Unknown (Slash III)
Jeremiah’s body reacts on his own, reaching and quickly grabbing for Zayn’s forearm to pull her back just in time to evade a large claw with crushing force that palms the spot where she once stood. Zayn blinks in horror at the large beast--its body and replication of a scorpion, yet its hard shell is a pinkish red but covered with traces of blue lines over its large, sturdy body. The scorpion-like-creature also has one large, crooked wing that flaps the air, aiming large gust of sand at the knight crew who stagger back, holding their arms up to invade as much sand from their faces as they possibly can.
"Who is the one who thinks of these Gods awful creatures?!" Milly screams, holding his suitcase in front of his face as another gust of sand sweeps in his direction. "And why are they also so freaking big?!"
"For once, I do not have the answer." Co calmly responds with, standing behind Milly to avoid any sandy attacks, which causes Milly to shoot a glare Co’s way.
The scorpion-like creature screeches, swiping the sand with all its might, aiming the attack at the crew who back away, shielding themselves again from the attack.
"H-how should we proceed, Captain?" Clarke asked, looking at Jeremiah, who’s still holding Zayn’s arm, her back pressed against his armored chest.
"Knight Li-Li and Shaka will take main offense with you, Vice-Captain Clarke. Rel, use your vines when you can to restrain the beast--if needed, mages please step in to assist. Knight Koven and Sia, please stand as defense with-."
"I-I’ll help, Captain!" Zayn chirps, tilting her head up to meet eyes with Jeremiah, her cheeks ablaze as she very much realizes that she is still pressed against Jeremiah, who has yet attempted to let go of her.
"Right, yes uh-Holy Knight Zayn-uh-please also assist Knight Koven and Knight Sia with any needed defense..." Jeremiah said, slowly letting go of Zayn’s arm and coughing in his hand, a soft blush rushing to his own cheeks. "Ready yourselves, knights."
The knights nods, waiting for Jeremiah to signal when to attack, which he does, right when the scorpion-like beast raises its claws to hammer in another attack.
"Go!" Jeremiah roars, watching as Li-Li and Shaka nod first, meeting each others eyes before they both quickly disperse, quickly racing ahead to the beast.
Li-Li first races forward, sliding across the sand and squaring up her first to take on the large beast’s attack with her forearms, bouncing back and and letting her arms losely land by her side as the scorpion roars, swatting where Li-Li once stands, but she’s fast, quickly moving out the way and into another direction.
Shaka quickly runs forward, her eyes ablaze, illuminating a vibrant golden lightning bolt in her eyes as she reaches her hand out, feeling as her large obsidian hammer forms in her hand.
Shaka races forward, roaring as she swings with all her might at the scorpion, watching with calculated eyes as the scorpion screams, getting knocked off its tiny legs and flipped over, creating a large gust of sand to disperse in the sky by its impact.
Shaka catches her breath, holding her hammer in her hand, watching the scorpion stammer and struggle to roll back over.
"Rel, now!" Lia screams, raising her hand.
"Your will be done, Master!" Rel said. Lia nods, watching as Rel races forward, riding a vast body of vines as the vines wrap itself around the scorpion-like beast, tightening it’s grip on the monster as it screeches, slamming itself against the red sand.
Rel breathes, watching the scorpion-like creature struggle before it suddenly stops, sitting calmly in its crouched position, watching the wary knight crew with small, black beady eyes.
"Okay..." Rel said. "Next, I’ll-."
The scorpion-like beast roars, crossing its tiny arms to its chest and using its meaty, large claws to snip away the vines off its body with one snip. Rel backs away, eyeing the monster with large eyes as it screams, quickly racing forward as it raises a claw to smash it down where Rel stands. Rel swallows, looking up at the large creature and opening his mouth to yell, but he feels a pair of arms pull him away and push him down, having him and whoever’s body roll across the sand dunes and a distance away to dodge the attack.
Rel opens his eyes, watching as Clarke is in his arms, looking between the large monster, then worriedly at Rel, eyeing him up and down to check for any injuries.
"Are you okay, Sir Rel?" Clarke asked, but Rel can’t stay focused, losing himself in Clarke’s very pretty warm eyes. "You look as if you dazed."
Rel offers Clarke a goofy smile, one that confuses her more than reassures her.
There’s another loud screech. Clarke turns her head, positioning herself in front of Rel as she watches the scorpion-like beast race towards where her and Rel are, but there’s a sturdy body that hurriedly races in front of Clarke’s crouched form--his stance ready, his fist clenched, and his long, light brown hair waves with the wind--its Koven, ready to defend the knights behind him with slanted, focused eyes.
Koven steps forward, signs with his hands, making a sign with his pointer finger and thumb, takes his plump lips to the gap his fingers make, and he inhales, closing his eyes as he waits for the scorpion beast to come closer.
Koven waits for it--for the beast to close it, and once it does, he opens his eyes, opening his mouth.
"Fireball Breath." Koven mouths, letting out the large gust of air through his lips, watching as the air morphs into rays of hot, burning red flames through the hole in his fingers. The flames twist and turn within themselves before creating a large, brighter flame, quickly grazing the beast before covering its body with hot, burning, poisonous flames.
The scorpion-beast flails back and forth, letting out a large scream, trying to roll in the sand to put out the flames. Koven relaxes his stance, clasping his fist and hand together to bow, but he jolts up, feeling a warm hand on his armored shoulder. He looks down, surprised to see Shaka and Li-Li next to him, each on the opposite side of him, eyeing the flamed Scorpion with determined eyes.
"Leave the rest to us, big guy!" Shaka said, a grin on her face as grips her hammer in her hand. "I want in on the fun too!"
"Li-Li will also fight!" Li-Li said, a shy smile on her face as she looks at Koven. "Koven is so cool to Li-Li."
Koven softly smiles, rubbing the back of his neck with a soft blush on his face. Shaka giggles, nudging Li-Li as they both step forward.
"Ready, bestie?" Shaka said, gripping her hammer while she lunges forward, her gaze focused on the scorpion-beast slowly rising back on its tiny legs, one of its eyes covered in hot flames while the other eye glares at the knights as it lets out a mighty roar.
"Always, Shaka!" Li-Li smiles, nodding her head, furrowing her stubby eyebrows. "Go!"
Shaka grins, nodding as she sprints forward at a alarming speed, grabbing her hammer by two hands and swipes the sand harshly, creating a powerful curtain of sand to blind the scorpion-beast from their view.
Shaka staggers back, lunges forward again, and runs forward again, spinning her hammer until it’s faced up, its smooth surface pointed upward and ready for an attack. Li-Li blinks, watching Shaka closely as she nods her head, as she understands Shaka’s plan. Li-Li runs forward, her red gloves glowing with her blue eyes as she lets out a few heavy breathes before she leaps, taking a large jump onto of Shaka’s large hammer and trusting her friend as Shaka grins, swinging the hammer with all her might and Li-Li with it, launching Li-Li a good distance away with fast speed as Li-Li falls in the air, reading her fist as she flies in the air towards the large beast. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
"Windbreaker!" Li-Li roars, letting out a loud scream as she swings the air close to the beast with all her might, watching as a large, big gusts of wind puffs out of her fist and strikes the scorpion-beast’s hard back, slamming the scorpion-beast down into the sand without mercy.
The beast lets out a weak roar, the flames covering its body still burning bright and strong. It slowly tries to regain ground, moving its claw to help itself rise, but a pair of thin wire combined with thick vines cover its body, strapping around the beast even tighter than before, giving it no room to move.
Clarke clears her throat, reaching for her twin swords as she heads towards the beast, now crying and withering under the vines and wires--courtesy of Rel and Sia, of course.
"Should I handle the rest Captain?" Clarke asked, unsheathing both her red and aqua blue swords. "Or would you like to?"
"Ah, I’ll leave that to you, Vice-Captain Clarke." Jeremiah said, his eyes focusing from Clarke to ahead, where a figure, amongst the windy sand, heads to where the knights reside. "I believe while you handle that, I should handle our newest guests."
