Chapter 57 - The Final Gate – Rise of the Crimson Vault

The final chamber was vast—ancient stonework cracked under the weight of power seeping from deep below. Purple mist rolled along the ground, coiling around three remaining teams who stood shoulder to shoulder.

Zen's team.

Arisella's team.

And the third—a trio led by Delan Mirros, with Kaelith Dorne and Marina Faelora flanking him, their robes tattered, faces bruised, but eyes burning with resolve.

In the center of the room stood the Dungeon Boss—Vraez'thul, The Crimson Vault Tyrant.

A towering, obsidian-armored monstrosity. Two crimson swords floated behind its back like wings. Its helm hissed with steam, eyes glowing like twin furnaces.

A sudden voice rang in Zen's ears.

[SYSTEM]: "WARNING: Dungeon Lord detected. Boss status confirmed. Estimated Level: 54. Defense Tier: A. Weakness: Delayed reaction after weapon charge. Note: You're going to need backup this time, genius."

Zen stood silent, sword in hand, while beside him, Lyra cracked her knuckles and Sylvia tapped the hilt of her iceblade.

Lyra leaned close, grinning. "You know... this time I'm not letting you and icy girl hog the fun again."

Zen didn't reply. But the faintest blush betrayed him.

[SYSTEM]: "Oh no, he's blushing. Romance alert. Activating TeaseMode.exe."

Zen: "Shut it, Nex."

[SYSTEM]: "Oh, 'Shut it, Nex', he says with the emotional control of a soup spoon. Carry on, lovebird."

The other teams took position. Arisella raised her royal sigil, commanding the light around her, while Elvren summoned fire from both hands. Fiora whispered a chant under her breath.

Delan and his group stood ready behind a partial rock cover, Marina preparing water shields while Kaelith prepped an elemental arrow.

And then—

The dungeon shook.

The boss roared—a sound that shattered several stalactites from the ceiling. Lava burst from cracks across the floor.

The battle began.

Arisella's light spears struck first, creating an opening. Elvren's fire surged behind them, engulfing the boss's right arm. Delan charged next, striking from the side—but the Vault Tyrant's armor absorbed most of the attacks.

It retaliated with a swing that sent Fiora flying—unconscious. Marina rushed to shield her.

Kaelith's arrow pierced its shoulder, staggering it for a second—but not enough.

Only one team remained unscathed.

Zen stepped forward.

Sylvia beside him, blade humming with cold. Lyra behind, her hands glowing with healing light and anticipation.

[SYSTEM]: "Now entering cinematic showdown mode. Engage Badass Protocol, Prince of Oblivion."

Zen exhaled.
