The Broken Angel & Her Overprotective Brothers-Chapter 392: A New Dawn
One year later...
~
An entire year had passed since Shadow’s passing, a year filled with sorrow and healing. As the seasons turned, so did the hearts of those who loved him, finding solace in memories and in each other.
This particular day was a significant milestone in this long journey of healing: the day of Domenic’s wedding. For over three decades, the eldest Alessandro had devoted himself tirelessly to his six younger siblings, a steadfast pillar of strength and guidance. Now, he was about to embark on a new Chapter of his life, one that promised joy and fulfillment with his soulmate - Aleron.
The morning sun kissed the horizon, casting a golden glow over the Fae Realm, which was buzzing with the excitement of the upcoming nuptials. The air was fragrant with the scent of blooming flowers, and the soft melodies of enchanted birds filled the atmosphere with a sense of magic and anticipation.
Emily awoke with a mix of emotions swirling within her. A part of her heart still ached for Shadow, but today, she chose to embrace the happiness surrounding her eldest brother’s wedding. She slipped into an elegant deep purple silk gown, its fabric flowing gracefully around her. The backless dress with tiny straps over her shoulders and a long slit on her left leg allowed her perfect body to be on display.
Her deep green eyes sparkled with a mixture of sadness and joy, and her natural brown hair cascaded down her back in soft waves. As she gazed at her reflection, she knew Shadow would be proud of her for finding the strength to celebrate this day.
The venue, a grand and ethereal palace deep within the heart of the Fae Realm, was adorned with twinkling lights and vibrant flowers of every hue. As Emily stepped into the venue, her beauty drew admiring glances.
Instantly, she was surrounded by her brothers—Daniel, Crist, Simon, Mark, and Leo—each looking dashing in their wedding attire.
"I swear my sister is the prettiest person to be ever born in this world." Crist stated as he came to place a warm kiss on Emily’s forehead.
"I heard you saying these exact words to Claire the day before." Annika called out the man as she walked closer to the group with her hands resting protectively on her four-months-pregnant belly.
Everyone chuckled while Crist gave a pouty look to his sister-in-law. Claire came running out of somewhere and wrapped herself around Emily’s legs. "Emy! You are looking gorgeous!"
Emily smiled at her niece before she crouched down and patted the back of her head adorably. "And you my darling, Claire, you are just as gorgeous as I am."
The little girl giggled happily, making Emily smile too. Their attention was then shifted toward two very familiar faces that approached their group. Rylan and Shane were there, the latter with his mate.
"What about me? Am I not looking gorgeous too?" Bianca appeared while flaunting her beauty and looking like she was there to attend a fashion show. The woman loved to dress up.
"Of course, you are Bee." Emily quickly answered as she greeted all three of the Evans - Sam, Bianca, and Jackson, with hugs. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
They all stood there chatting for a while. Laughing, teasing, protesting - enjoying the happy moment.
As the final preparations were made, Emily felt a familiar presence beside her. Kaiden finally arrived just before the ceremony began, his hand slipping into hers, offering a reassuring squeeze.
"You have no right to look this beautiful, Angel. You will end up breaking a lot of hearts in that way." He whispered against her ear, not caring about the dozens of eyes that were focused on them.
"Not like you are any better than me." Emily whispered as she turned her face to look into his deep cerulean eyes. Over the past year, he had grown his silver hair even more and right now, he had pulled it back in a high bun with a few loose strands decorating his perfectly sculpted face.
Their teasing segment ended when the commencement of the ceremony was announced with the harmonious chimes of ancient Fae instruments that resonated through the hall and captivated all who were present.
Aleron stood at the altar, his regal presence commanding respect and admiration. His eyes sparkled with love as he watched Domenic approach, escorted by none other than Emily. Domenic, usually so stoic and composed, now looked radiant, his face softened by a genuine smile.
The Fae Elder, a venerable being of immense wisdom, began the proceedings, invoking the ancient blessings of the Fae Realm. The vows exchanged between Domenic and Aleron were heartfelt and poignant, their love evident in every word and glance. Emily found herself tearing up, not from sadness but from the overwhelming beauty of the moment.
As the Elder pronounced them bonded for eternity, a chorus of cheers erupted from the gathered guests. The magical realm responded in kind, with flowers blooming in a burst of colors and luminescent butterflies taking to the air, creating a surreal and breathtaking spectacle.
The reception that followed was a celebration of love and unity. Emily danced with her brothers, laughed with her friends, and marveled at the happiness that had finally found its way back into their lives.
As the night drew to a close, Emily stood on a balcony overlooking the enchanted landscape. Kaiden joined her, his arm wrapping around her shoulders. She leaned into him, feeling the warmth of his embrace and the steady beat of his heart.
"Shadow would be so happy to see us like this," she murmured, her gaze lost in the twinkling stars above.
Kaiden nodded, pressing a gentle kiss to her temple. "He would. And he’d want us to cherish these moments."
With a final glance at the night sky, Emily felt a sense of peace wash over her. The shadows of the past had not disappeared, but they had softened, allowing the light of new beginnings to shine through. Today marked not just a wedding, but the promise of happiness rediscovered, a testament to the enduring power of love and family.
