Chapter 46: Heavenly Strings Sing Perfectly

It was extremely strange and disgusting, with them being covered in this green substance... which moved in a sickening way with their movements.

For the first time in the lives of the warriors who were standing in the room witnessing this scene... they had lived long, but they were certainly witnessing this for the first time.

They saw with their own eyes this "attack," and perhaps because of this nonsense... as if this hideous sight of fusion made them think they were in a dream, they chose to merely watch... without intervening.

On another front, with Ni Ni Layan, who was suffering as she floated with chains—and in addition to the agony she felt—her Immortal Heart was being invaded by Yin energy. Simply put, she began to feel panic.

She looked at Morse, who was now fused with Elder Byeong. Although he seemed brave, he was more foolish than smart. This was suicidal; he was so close that Morse could be struck at any moment with a blow that would end his life.

She looked with eyes that were beginning to feel heavy toward Elder Byeong, whose energy erupted from all parts of his body like oil poured onto fire. He was trying to use his power and aura to destroy Morse and the adhesive together.

"Get away from me, you and this thing!"

But he decided to draw his Earth-grade spiritual sword...the Forest Soul Sword..and attack Morse, who had just finished pouring the bottle of Rat Trap.

It was an extremely complicated matter, as his Nascent Soul aura was being gradually suppressed. He would not despair and would try to strike him no matter what to end this farce.

"Die!"

But he did not know that this man was already planning to bite him.

On the blade of the sword struck by the yellow light, the reflection appeared... on the blade... the fangs of an open mouth. The teeth gleamed before the Elder’s eyes.

A flash.

The reflection of his slightly terrifying teeth appeared in the Elder’s line of sight just before Morse lunged, his teeth rubbing against each other like a zombie, aiming for Elder Byeong’s neck.

"Aaargh... you scoundrel!"

His teeth, loaded with Yang energy, pierced through any defensive aura of Qi... This was absolute madness.

Crunch...

Morse began to sink his teeth firmly into the Elder’s neck. The Elder started to bleed, and his ancient blood, filled with the impurities of time, splashed into Morse’s mouth... it tasted foul.

"I will kill you, you bastard!"

Elder Byeong tried to push him away with all his might; it was agonizing. Morse began sending his own Yang energy into Elder Byeong’s bloodstream.

Although it seemed strange that he didn’t die, cultivators can control the blood flow in their veins to prevent death from hemorrhaging. The Yang energy had already entered Elder Byeong’s blood, as if Morse were transmitting some kind of viral infection to him.

Morse’s Yang energy began to invade the Elder’s own Yang energy, weakening him from within through total dominance... it was legendary energy by all standards. Elder Byeong felt it—a foreign energy entering his body. This was the first time he had ever been attacked in such a manner.

His Qi energy was on the verge of surrendering completely to this powerful force... inside his very cells. He was trying to deter this with all his effort now, giving up on pushing Morse away with his hands.

Morse’s Yang Qi began killing the Elder’s cells, and he didn’t know how...

"How... how do you possess such powerful Yang Qi? It is peerless..."

His body began to grow exhausted and truly weakened; it was impossible to stop. He started to feel a primal fear of this energy, as if its source were the Sun itself—inherently dominant. He grew even more curious about Morse now.

He had known him since he was young... a short journey had made him return stranger, or perhaps he had been this way from the start. It made sense now for Byeong to seek information about him from Ni Ni Layan. Even he thought he had been deceived.

"You fools! Attack him!"

He looked at the soldiers who had been watching all this time without any action, as if it were an entertaining show, which infuriated him greatly. He felt a deep sense of disappointment. But at the same time, he felt that he would finally be able to break free after killing him.

Elder Byeong didn’t know how he had become this weak. He decided he would capture Morse along with Ni Ni Layan to conduct his experiments on him.

The warriors looked at one another; their gazes darkened as they beheld the Elder’s condition. He was looking at them... but he did not expect that his warriors, seeing him in this state, would pounce on him instead of Morse.

He was looking at them... but he did not expect that his warriors, seeing him in this state, would pounce on him instead of Morse. Ling Niang and the warriors leaped toward him, their sharp swords pointed directly at him.

The Elder looked at them in utter disbelief. Those he had raised were going to kill him now. It was unbelievable... Elder Byeong, to die at the hands of traitors.

Their killing intent was clear to him.

"Sorry, Master, but you’ve become far too old..."

In an instant, he burned a talisman paper in his hand, causing an explosion.

BOOM!

The talisman paper thrust him violently through the roof, flinging him far away. Ling was shocked after the dust cleared from the place; Ling Niang felt a surge of rage, gnashing his teeth.

"Get up, you fools! He has escaped!"

When Elder Byeong exited, Ni Ni Layan felt herself descending to the ground again with force, her breath turning to ice. Ni Ni Layan managed to break her chains.

The chains collapsed onto the floor... as she stared ahead at the men who had breached the roof, chasing after Byeong and Morse with him.

Suddenly, the door swung open. Three Elders entered—the Second, Third, and Fourth—all wearing grins. They stood directly beside Ni Ni Layan.

"Good work, youngsters... you have a bright future ahead. What loyal followers you are..." The Second Elder wiped away imaginary tears as he bid them farewell.

The three then turned their gaze toward Ni Ni Layan, who was on the floor, down on her knees. She didn’t know what to do; she was far too weak now. But then, she remembered the Gacha—the new feature in the system. She decided to perform a random pull, hoping to save herself, for she had no other choice in her current state.

With trembling hands, she selected a Silver Pull. Meanwhile, the three Elders approached, led by the Second Elder, Murong Xuan, who stood in the center. He began to speak:

"really... really, really... I feel nothing. For a moment, I thought I’d feel a massive surge of victory... but things went with such unexpected ease. So, what do we realize from this?"

Ni Ni Layan was in a piteous state. Her eyelids felt heavy as she watched her system screen spinning through random items until it finally came to a halt.

"Was the luck good?"

Murong Xuan smiled and then answered himself, "No... it means that fate and our destinies dictate that you belong to us... and also..."

As he spoke, she saw the wheel stop at the selected item before her eyes. Her pupils began to glow; they dilated from the item she beheld.

"...Simply put, we shall hold celebrations. We were prepared for this to be a joyous occasion for the entire family."

But... her lips and body trembled as she read the item she had pulled. She hadn’t wanted to bring it out, but she was forced to, given the description in the system.

"Since... since you want to host a party... don’t forget... the Orchestra." 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

(Item: Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 - Celestial Recording Orchestra Playtape)

A strange plastic tape appeared out of thin air and struck the floor before the eyes of the staring Elders. It fell... and as it hit the ground, it was as if something happened.

Beethoven - Symphony No. 5, Op. 67, Allegro con brio.

"Dun-Dun-Dun-Duuuun!"

"Dun-Dun-Dun-Duuuun!"

Fate knocks on your door

The tape emitted a sound. It wasn’t like any ordinary sound; it was as if an angel had struck one of the strings of heaven. The Elders felt as if this ethereal, strange sound had pierced, deepened, and invaded their consciousness, making them feel a spiritual awe in their entire being... as if they were hearing the heartbeat of the world.

The tape continued to emit those ethereal sounds. As the music played on, the Elders felt they were discovering new horizons of emotion that made them fall onto their backsides. Then, they entered a state of meditation amidst Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony.

The sounds were shattering their eardrums and reshaping their spiritual consciousness. Now, they were flowing with the current of the symphony. They all gasped when the piece stopped its rhythm from the tape. They opened their eyes, staring at the tape before them.

Through these sounds, they had seen... they had seen planets and stars... seas and lands. They saw their own heartbeats dancing... literally. It was pure magic.

"Ha... ha... ha... it is the sound of heavenly playing... unbelievable..."
