Chapter 59: Chapter 59: Don’t Come Begging to Him Again

Jasper tossed Yelena onto the sofa, hooking his fingers onto the hem of her clothes to push them up, but she not only held his hand back but also started to struggle vehemently.

"Please, don’t do this."

Jasper was already impatient, tearing at her clothes, "You really don’t understand your situation. If you need anything in the future, won’t you still have to come to me?"

Yelena thought about saying there wouldn’t be such a possibility.

She felt a chill at her lower back as the man’s palm pressed against her, and Jasper smirked about how her soft skin was still so appealing.

"If I need anything, I’d definitely come to you, since no one’s words are as effective as yours here. But today really won’t do, my friend is having a birthday, and they’ll worry if they can’t find me later."

Yelena couldn’t believe someone as particular as Jasper would really want to solve things on the spot.

"Besides, what if there’s surveillance here? If it gets to Miss Alden’s ears, it won’t sound good."

Jasper’s gaze shifted from her chest to her face.

"Then, I’ll wait for you to finish attending your friend’s birthday."

Yelena’s smile was slightly forced, "Making you wait, isn’t that a bit much?"

"No problem, I have some social engagement too, you’ll ride with me later."

Yelena watched as the man stood up and grabbed that shirt.

He slipped one arm into the sleeve, the black shirt hanging partly on Jasper’s body.

Looking down with scrutiny and threat, "You won’t make a run for it, will you?"

"Even if you lend me ten guts, I wouldn’t dare."

She turned over, accidentally falling off the sofa, reaching out to grab a bottle to steady herself.

Jasper’s breath hitched, squatting down to glance at Yelena’s hand, seemingly deep in thought.

"I’ll go now." She scrambled up, nearly crawling, and ran out without even taking her jacket.

Hailey was guarding outside and found it strange when she came out so quickly.

He walked into the private room and saw Jasper had put on the shirt but hadn’t buttoned it.

"Sir."

Jasper picked up the liquor on the table, Hailey went to reach for a glass, but saw him taking a swig straight from the bottle.

His Adam’s apple moved up and down, full of pent-up frustration.

Yelena returned to the room, and Dean handed her a bag of snacks, "Hey, girl, where’s your jacket?"

She looked at herself, feeling annoyed, as that was a new coat she had just bought.

"I don’t remember where I put it, had a bit too much to drink."

"Did you leave it in the restroom? I’ll go find it for you."

Yelena, worried something might happen, quickly held him back, "Forget it, you wanting to go into the ladies’ room?"

Dean, showing a big-hearted smile, patted Yelena’s shoulder, "No worries, I’ll buy you a new one another day."

Her mind wasn’t here at all; she wanted to leave, "Dean, I’m not feeling well..."

"Then lean back for a while."

"Maybe I should head back first." Yelena really wanted to leave as soon as possible.

"Hold it," Dean showed displeasure on his face, "Are you even my girl? It’s my birthday, hey, if you leave, I’ll cut ties with you!"

"..."

Yelena thought, since leaving early wasn’t an option, she’d better stall for time. Jasper wasn’t one to wait, he’d surely leave first.

The group played until the early hours before they left, and Yelena accompanied Dean to settle the bill.

Some colleagues left together, some were waiting for a ride, Yelena took out her phone to call a car.

"Let’s walk a bit to the further end; there are more cars over there."

"Alright," Dean, drunk, leaned on Yelena, "How’s it going with Mister?"

Yelena focused on the phone app, "What do you mean how? What could ever come of it?"

"Girl, if you ever become a young madam, don’t forget about me..."

Yelena finally got a car, showing that it was still two kilometers away.

Dean looked around, "From which direction will it come?"

He turned his head to look behind and felt as if his neck was caught; he slowly turned back, so frightened that even the hair on his head stood straight.

"What’s up? Seen a ghost?"

"The big guy’s car is following behind."

The big guy? Jasper?

Yelena’s scalp tingled, "You’re not mistaken?"

"I’ve followed him before, can’t get the plate number wrong."

Both of them stiffened, and no cars passed by, indicating Jasper was deliberately keeping an eye on them.

Yelena grew tense, her palms began to sweat, and Dean joked nervously, "Is he coming for you?"

"I don’t have that capability."

"Then why is he following us?" 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Yelena felt a pang of anguish, fortunately, the ride-sharing car arrived quickly, she didn’t look back, pretending not to know Jasper was behind.

Hailey saw her opening the car door and asked, "Sir, shall I go after her?"

Jasper sat engulfed in light and shadow, his expression shifting, "No need for that."

The pair in front got into the car, Yelena sat upright, the driver started the engine and prepared to turn the vehicle around.

He glanced at the rearview mirror and saw a car passing dangerously close to his door, almost close enough to crash had he changed direction.

The driver gripped the steering wheel in fright and swore, following up with a hasty brake.

Yelena’s head hit the seat, and the car in front disappeared in a cloud of dust, the ride-share driver stammering, "Crazy... crazy, in such a hurry to meet the other side?"

The person in the back tried to regain composure, "Driver, it’s late, please just go."

Yelena returned home, thinking that offending Jasper had no good outcome, so she sent him a message.

"Sir, sorry, you’ve probably gone back long ago, I’m finished here quite late, so I didn’t find you."

Yelena held onto her phone, waiting, and after a long time, Jasper still hadn’t replied.

She felt she had explained enough, though it sounded fake. After washing up, she was about to sleep, unexpectedly, Jasper replied.

"You wanted to come find me, didn’t you?"

Yelena sent a yes.

"Alright, I’ll have the driver pick you up."

"..."

Yelena tucked her phone under the pillow; he couldn’t be serious, could he?

Now she was wide awake, terrified Jasper might actually send someone over, tossing and turning, unable to sleep.

She eventually picked up her phone.

"It’s too late, I’ve had too much to drink, another day." Without waiting for Jasper’s reply, Yelena sent a goodnight.

On the other end, the man stared at his phone with a sarcastic smile on his lips.

Good on you, Yelena.

Just hope you never encounter any setbacks in this life, don’t think about coming back to seek him again.
